I just recently watched this excellent documentary, " The Hidden Faith of the Founding Fathers", and discovered that the Founding Fathers were all 33rd degree freemasons. They actually hated the true God of the Bible! You will be shocked to discover what the Founding Fathers actually believed in the own words!

I guess you have never heard of the Indian Wars, the Civil War, the Mexican War and the fact that the Framers actually met in Philadelphia in order to form a stronger central government that would prevent the will of the populace from affecting the profits of the wealthier classes (i.e. THEM).
Indeed, the only reason they put in a Bill of Rights is because the States demanded it before they would ratify a Constitution so openly dismissive of democracy.
However, the fact remains that the anti-Federalists were the ones who influenced the State leaders, upon whose authority the Constitution would be ratified, and Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Virginia and New York, were among the most notable cases where the Federalists had to cave into their demands or fail to have their great document ratified.

Oh I agree, I don't necessarily think it was ill-willed. I think it was probably quite necessary at the time. But it also was a deliberate ploy to preserve the prosperity of the wealthy elite against the threat posed by the poor masses. That's an oversimplification. The founders were born to a world with slavery and inherited slaves from their families. There was a strong effort to ban slavery in the Constitution. Jefferson and Madison constantly spoke out against slavery, but did not feel it was as easy as just freeing all the slaves. Due to societal prejudice, they felt blacks and whites had to be separated to keep from killing each other; a racist mentality by today's standards, but centuries ahead for their time.
Jefferson and Madison had no issue with the idea of slavery, so long as it did not infringe upon the rights of the wealthy. Indeed, they were very much in favor of indentured servitude as well, which is a system where a man is owned by another but can eventually buy their way out of such ownership once they have been productive enough to earn it.
Centuries ahead of their time, certainly, because that's pretty much what we have today. ;)

The founding fathers should have set the system up that allows us to vote on the issues, not politicians, thus voters would really get what they want. The reason we have representation instead of direct vote is to have numerically equal representation by limiting the number of representatives from a constituency.

I just got word that some states that had open primaries are now becoming closed primaries. Some people are suggesting a conspiracy against Ron Paul and I don't blame them. Many of his supporters are not registered republicans. If you're from some place like New Hampshire, you have to register republican now. The deadline is October 12 for New Hampshire and New York.

this system wasnt perfect, but people like to say it was.

That's an oversimplification. The founders were born to a world with slavery and inherited slaves from their families. There was a strong effort to ban slavery in the Constitution. Jefferson and Madison constantly spoke out against slavery, but did not feel it was as easy as just freeing all the slaves. Due to societal prejudice, they felt blacks and whites had to be separated to keep from killing each other; a racist mentality by today's standards, but centuries ahead for their time.

Jefferson and Madison had no issue with the idea of slavery, so long as it did not infringe upon the rights of the wealthy. Indeed, they were very much in favor of indentured servitude as well, which is a system where a man is owned by another but can eventually buy their way out of such ownership once they have been productive enough to earn it.
Centuries ahead of their time, certainly, because that's pretty much what we have today. ;)

Whoa, let's not get carried away. Democracy is not what we want. Democracy is tyranny of the many over the few. Representatives may not be perfect, but that is a flaw in the men, not the system. The reason we have representation instead of direct vote is to have numerically equal representation by limiting the number of representatives from a constituency.

I just got word that some states that had open primaries are now becoming closed primaries. Some people are suggesting a conspiracy against Ron Paul and I don't blame them. Many of his supporters are not registered republicans. If you're from some place like New Hampshire, you have to register republican now. The deadline is October 12 for New Hampshire and New York.
