This scene makes me sad. Rikku just can't understand how people can enjoy a nice quiet life. She's always so perky and moving around that her mind's just not wired to understand Yuna's perspective. Although she's not entirely wrong about Yuna since she seems to have given up everything just to be with Tidus. I really think Rikku just wants Yuna to remember there's more to her life than one person.
TBH, I consider Rikku a real bitch in this scene. I get what she's saying, but come on. Yuna finally Tidus back, that's a good thing. Let Yuna be happy, shit.
As much as I like Rikku, Yuna has a right to do what she wants to do. Didn't she dedicate most of her life to be a summoner and live up to the expectations of her father Braska? And then trying to find Tidus, take down Baralei, Gippal, etc? TBH, I think Yuna's choice in being with Tidus is her own "Eternal Calm". So to speak.
Anyone else besides me find it ironic that it was Rikku who got mad at Wakka for dragging Yuna into her stuffy role as a spokesperson, and now it's Rikku getting mad that Yuna's refusing to get dragged back into the Gullwings?

the song that starts at 2:22 - I've always wondered when and where they'd use it in the game (i also found out they use it for the "PERFECT SHINRA ENDING" i got last night after the good ending scene). anyway i agree w/ what shinobi said. there's more substance in last mission than the overall ffx2 game. still, i think it has to do with cutscenes lackin real time facial emotions, which gives bland... scenes. & better voice directing was needed but u can only do so much when their faces r ..bland

i think yuna and tidus should do the things together they planned in final fantasy x. for example visiting the "illuminum" at night or look for zanakand. (i know they`ll not find it but at least trying) or playing "blitzball" together .

i think part of rikku's anger is how its always about yuna, no one asking what rikku wants, and how she is left out of stuff sometimes, most of this occuring in the game
This is my favorite scene by far. I strongly believe that what they're getting at with Yuna not wanting to leave the island and being inseparable from Tidus is the fear that perhaps he'll fade away again. Yuna's not being stalkerish or unhealthy. She loves someone who she fears might disappear again. But it's also only been 3 months since he returned. My husband and I have been together for almost 4 years and we STILL do everything together. Anyway, thanks so muc for posting this!
Wow this scene actually gives me some insight of Yuna's life. Paine is like the neutral party side. I feel that these emotions that the characters portray is realistic and something to think about or relate to. I'm more on Rikku's side, that change is needed for self growth and improvement.

For example, what you have translated as Paine saying "That must be why he came back" in Japanese is something like "Hon kaeteru da" (sorry I don't know romaji), or as the Chinese subtitles have it 我... 在寫書了. This means "I am writing a book." She says that a lot has happened and she wants to remember it, then asks if they want to write the book together. Yuna asks if you have to write something down to remember it. (cont.)

Did anyone notice any emphasis on the irony of the Spira's people fighting each other after nearly a millennium of Sin's destruction. This is the only part where I actually FEEL anything.

Not sure which one is more accurate, but the Chinese subs and English subs don't match all the time. One example is when they're talking about getting back the songstress sphere. For Chinese subs: R:"At that time Yuna was all flustered and all over the place" Y:"Ah, that's because I was stuck inside the heavy and hot (moogle suit)...It was really pitiful." While in English Y:"Nowdays I'm in the company of a seriously passionate person." Personally I think the Chinese subs make more sense XD

Shes jealous of Tidus. They all use to hang out together, but when Yuna finally got Tidus back, she cut Rikku and Paine out of her life, and Rikku was angry because she herself hasent found her special person in life. Hence why she so angry at Yuna for not talking or hanging out with her anymore.

oh i totally loved this scene. I love when they are showing alot of emotions, and in this clip i actually felt for Rikku. I usually only considers her to be selfish not being able to be happy for her friends.. but hell, Yuna is really a wimp in this game. I dont like her at all. Rikku had many fights with various people. It was usually funny to see especially against Wakka, Brother and Cid, but I find this fight with Yuna (and only this) gravely depressing...
i really feel for rikku. she has to be so happy all the time, like she has no time to just cry or think her life out. she's always trying to keep everyone else on their feet. i think she had the right to explode like that.

I definitely agree with you. I'm glad Square Enix added this scene in; it only makes the three seem more realistic. And it makes things interesting, too.
If Paine hadn't intervened during the argument, then Yuna & Rikku might've beaten the stuffing out of each other...Well, at least some people would hope.

bcos tidus is the love of her life, and you cant compare sisterly love with romantic love cos they are equally impt. But I guess to yuna tidus is more impt because he is held together by pyreflies and there is still the lingering fear that he might disappear again

man, i'm so happy for them!tidus is back,yuna lives with him in besaid, they take walks together and all that stuff... but, although their history had a happy ending, i think the sad parts of the game,the ending of ffx and the extremely depressing songs are stronger than the good parts.so sometimes i think of the happy ending but i cannot really enjoy it cause their history is so sad...

Not sure which one is more accurate, but the Chinese subs and English subs don't match all the time. One example is when they're talking about getting back the songstress sphere. For Chinese subs: R:"At that time Yuna was all flustered and all over the place" Y:"Ah, that's because I was stuck inside the heavy and hot (moogle suit)...It was really pitiful." While in English Y:"Nowdays I'm in the company of a seriously passionate person." Personally I think the Chinese subs make more sense XD

Shes jealous of Tidus. They all use to hang out together, but when Yuna finally got Tidus back, she cut Rikku and Paine out of her life, and Rikku was angry because she herself hasent found her special person in life. Hence why she so angry at Yuna for not talking or hanging out with her anymore.

oh i totally loved this scene. I love when they are showing alot of emotions, and in this clip i actually felt for Rikku. I usually only considers her to be selfish not being able to be happy for her friends.. but hell, Yuna is really a wimp in this game. I dont like her at all. What happened to her carefree-ness in X-2 ? :O

I have to say I can relate to Rikku, it's amazing how when people find what they are looking for... they forget those folks they used to hang out with. I'm seen people come and go out of my life. I believe that Rikku deserves some happiness too. And Yuna shouldn't push people out of her life because she got herself a bf. Great video, thanks for the subs.

Rikku had many fights with various people. It was usually funny to see especially against Wakka, Brother and Cid, but I find this fight with Yuna (and only this) gravely depressing...

I definitely agree with you. I'm glad Square Enix added this scene in; it only makes the three seem more realistic. And it makes things interesting, too.
If Paine hadn't intervened during the argument, then Yuna & Rikku might've beaten the stuffing out of each other...Well, at least some people would hope.
