@MrGruzija Their parent's are only "large" in comparison to the pups. My female Maltese is about the same size, and her "boyfriend" is a little larger than her.

@JOANNECULLEN17 actually that's just a haircut style and whether you like it or not is based on opinion. it's also possible too groom them so they keep that curly fur. i should know 'cause my friend's maltese is about 8 or 9 years old and still looks the same as when she was a puppy

It is so sweet that they cuddle up together - I had a Maltese myself - he lived to 20 years old - I had no idea they lived so long! He was amazing and welcomed me home everyday wagging his tail and running in figure eight shapes with sheer delight when you played with him!

My parents had a maltese. Absolute best behaved dog I've ever seen, never yipped, protected my mom like a pitbull lol. And is still playful to this day at 8 yrs old. These little farts are so cute.

@boomslect It depends on the individual maltese actually. In other words, there is no way ALL maltese are calm. On the other hand, not ALL maltese are playful either. Each maltese is unique. I have 2 myself. One of them is MORE playful than the other. They both are playful, but one plays roughly while the other one plays in a calmer / more gentle way :)

My Maltese Bella will be 3 months old tomorrow and she she looks identical to these pups. She was laying her sleeping and jumped up when she heard the bark. She came running to my computer screen and just starred at it watching the puppies play. When the video stopped she layed back down and went to sleep!! LOL

Maltese's are expensive, typically a grand, give or take. I've seen pet stores asking for $1500, private owners not looking to make money may let them go for a few hundred.

I've had mine for a year they are delightful little companions, like having a live Teddy Bear around the house. They look best if you keep them groomed with the puppy cut and don't let their hair get long . Nice thing about them is they have hair, not fur, so they don't shed at all.

Yes private owner is the way to go. The Maltese is a toy dog without the obnoxious little barkey-bitey-snappy personality of some of the small breeds like the Chihuahua, etc, and it doesn't have bug-eyes or bat face of other tiny dogs. They have a gentle sweet playful personality and love to cuddle and be held.
