  • fluffernutter

  • i read it as the last streetfighter

  • I found this game in my basement--what a terrible game. I'm amazed you devoted 9 minutes to it. There's even an FAQ on GameFAQs, which explains how to land. I remember hating this game even as a kid. It still sucks and is impossible.

  • 'Star Soldier' and 'Legendary Wings' were both better. The multi-tone gray with shadows motif reminds me of the beginning portion of 'Space Quest 2: Vohaul's Revenge' (my fave of that series).

"Fluffernutter" = best word ever! XD

  • the punk is cracy but cool!

  • I think its a pretty sweet movie, as long as you expect it to be a little goofy, but this game is complete ass.

  • @reaperflynn3 The goofness is part of the charm. 'The Black Hole' wouldn't have been as memorable if the robots, VINCent and BOB, had been all Transformerfied. Retro is chic.

  • Ralph Bakshi got a game? Fire and Ice would have been dope playing as Rexxar... I mean Lone Wolf.

  • Wow, same music driver as Mad Max. Awesome!

Great review as always, Pat! Keep it up!

  • I have been playing this game since I was 10 years old. Maybe not consistently, but I played the hell out it a lot when I was a kid. As an adult, I've picked it up about once a year and dedicated a few weeks here, and a few months there. I've only ever beat 7 of the 15 levels. This game is DAMN hard. I will say this, though, it's fun to play. The controls are solid, and the visual effects are impressive when you really analyze them. If I do nothing else in my life, I will beat this game.

  • Pat. If your computer can run it I have something allot more Satisfying for you to take a look at.

Its from Rogue Synapse. The part in the next line as a URL I think you can google it if I broke it up too much. roguesynapse. com games last_starfighter. php

  • @Spokavriel I've actually had a copy of what I recommended and had to leave slashes out of the URL on but have been afraid to play it. I like how their work turned out so much I'm afraid that if I do actually try playing I might end up disappointed or just get my head handed to me.

  • NINTENDO HARD!! :D

*cough* Actually, heh. I tried playing this game after I saw the movie — I didn't really care for it either.

I get the feeling it would've been better if I could've read the manual for it first, though. At least THEN I would've known what the heck the controls were! \o.o/

  • FLUPERNUTTER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I never knew this movie had a game! But seeing it was just a port, I guess I am not surprised why I heard of it.

  • awesome

  • that ship from spaceballs was about 3 minutes long

  • Actually Uridum is a ripoff of an Atari 800 game called Shadow Spotter, so looking out for the shadows on the obstacles actually made sense until they changed the name twice!

  • @HerecomestheCalavera Mind = Blown

Edit: OK you're just kidding. :p

  • @PatTheNESpunk Ha, had you going there for a second.

  • Thats a SICK collection of NES games you've got there!

  • What do you film this with?

  • @SuicideChild13 - Many games based on movies are pretty terrible, but there have been a few great ones.

Take E.T. for the Atari 2600 for example. Oh wait, that is one of the worst games ever (for how many copies sold to unsuspecting victims)

I think the best movie licensed game would have to be the James Bond game Golden Eye 007 for the N64.

Can't think of any great ones for NES though... maybe Batman or Ninja Turtles?

  • Batman immediately springs to mind. TMNT was based more on the cartoon than the movie methinks.

  • @ignorgasm Duck Tales.

  • I used to play uridium on my trusty c64 back in the day. It was a pretty fun game, although it was pretty challenging until you memorized where the tall obstacles were. I haven't played the Starfighter NES port, but the original had awesome sound and didn't have the missing bullseye shot problem.

Also the original and superior uriduim was released in 86, so it was pretty good for the time.

  • "Fluppernutter" LMAO

    -kidThunder

  • Nice review! I've never even heard of this game before.

  • Awesome review but please try to fix the audio

  • The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles was one pretty good licensed effort on the NES. The amazing thing is licensed titles suck even today!

  • Never knew there was an actual Last Starfighter game, nice review

  • whoa nice hair!

  • Great to see you back Pat :)

  • Love your hair! Don't cut it!

  • Cut your Hair xD!

    No rly....cut your Hair ._.

  • pat you are crazy. keep up the awesome work. I always look forward to your videos!

  • Is it me or at the intro there's PAT NES THE PUNK and right after Pat The Nes Punk... Anyway, love the review

  • Nice vid pat, keep up the great work.

  • pat, your aweomse. keep em coming!

  • Probably would have been better if they just ported the arcade game he was playing... idiots. At least game devs have learned their lesson from this and now produce quality licensed games.... *crickets* We'll always have Duck Tales...

  • @aarongaspar They lost the cred they gained from that on Tale Spin.

  • LOL!!!! @ "KhhhhAAAAANNNNNnn!!!" at the end, hahahah, Pat...

  • AH, almost shit my pants when i saw a new nespunk review!!! been waiting for it! fuck yeah pat!

  • Nice review and hair dude :D

  • also this game has a starforce vibe to it (also on the NES, and superior in everyway)

  • There's more than 17 of us and were super hardcore ,and we all made it to our 30's so now we can be starfighters!

  • Great review as always Pat, i've never played this game but it looks pretty bad.

  • I didn't know this was a rehashed game. Thanks for ruining my childhood Pat!

  • Why else am I here?

  • They need to rename this game "The Kobayashi Maru."

  • @vintagevideogamegeek I know this was a comment made a year ago but even though this might be a No Win Scenario can you honestly consider it a test of character?

  • @Spokavriel A test of sanity maybe!

  • i remember this movie and game..........iactually owned the v.h.s. for a while when i was like 10.........you always seem to bring back awesome memories from my childhood!

    well done!

  • "Fulffer-nutter!" Lulz!

  • Excellent review, except the audio and video track seems corrupted.

I did play a lot Uridium for the Commdore 64.

  • It's hard to even find a good game from Mindscape. Excellent review!

  • You're not kidding... Conan, Alfred Chicken... Ugh. I gave myself chills just THINKING about the awfulness...

  • Ohya, they are also to blame for the ruining several popular Hollywood franchises like Terminator, Mad Max, Dirty Harry and Indiana Jones with barely playable games.

  • I was ready to say "Paperboy," but then I remember that Mindscape only published it... Atari created it.

  • Yeah, I liked Road Blasters too but it too was a Atari game as well.

  • @PatTheNESpunk your cool i wish i could play games and get paid for it

  • @rpmmelby That makes two of us. :p

  • @PatTheNESpunk More like 3 of us!
