  • Omg I soo love your horse :) I just rescued an american paint mare she's blind in one eye and going blind in her other eye I was told she did everything like standing for farrier, lunging, riding etc.She had 2 b put on a calming supplement for about a week 2 calm her down also u couldn't do anything with her u would have thought she was a mustang lol.. Now I can do anything with her from picking up her hoofs 2 clean, puting blankets, tack etc on her, riding etc. u'd never know she is blind!

  • I don't know if you should be jumping her at such a young age, but she's pretty

  • @ArablvrXoXo Well I didn't jump her until she was 5, and we didn't do anything big or frequently. She's 7 now, had about a year off, and I've been doing flat work with her since.

  • She is sooo cute . but she looks INCREDIBLY tall..

  • how tall is she? great video. thumbs up.

  • @RPSHammond Thanks! She was 15.1 there, 15.3 now. She looks so much bigger though because she has such a big barrel! She's such a sweetie x)

  • She is just PERFECT :)

  • She is adorable! I wish I had the time and money to have a horse. I would do just this, get a project horse of some kind. I hope everything goes well! Keep me posted?

  • @finkmare thanks! We are getting our own farm and if I have time in my future, I'd like to buy and retrain OTTBs. Everything's going great with her! Still a greenie, but she sure is a sweet girlie. In this video she was 4, she is 6 now. Had a lot of time off but it's all for the best. We jumped 1' recently without any nervous wiggling :o haha. Mostly now she is learning to get in frame, working on transitions and ground poles!

  • r they trying to take ur horse away

  • wait, her last race was late november 2008, and you started riding her right away? race horses need at LEAST 5 or 6 months off before transitioning to riding horses, i just got a 4 year old ottb and he had 7 or 8 months off but most people give like a year! they have to re-learn everything, everything about racing and riding is opposite

  • @xokissez45ox

I rode her a little bit. That spring/summer she had lots of lameness/shoe pulling issues (brittle walls, badly shaped feet). She had AT LEAST a year off, and I only now started to seriously work her again. I've had her for 17 months and she is still "green broke"

  • @mewjet18 Beautiful horse! I subbed ;)

  • WOW! What a stunning mare! She is going to be a really nice sport horse someday!

  • I love Sugar! She's so funny. I love how when I walk into the barn she pops her head out to see who it is. I say hi to her and then she just starts cribbing. :]

  • :O gorgeous!!!

  • im mabey BIG MABY getting a 4 yr old tb mare for xmas this yr .she is 14.5 hh and a bay she was never raced.u have a cute horse shame u had to waste time fattening her up u could have got soo much done=]

  • she is so prettyy(:

  • I think she's So pretty. I don't think I could deal with a tb mare!!! hahaha You are DEFINITELY going to have your hands full. So good luck with everything :P

  • thta is one of the prettiest horses ive ever seen

  • yay, thanks! :]] well, once I went to get her, she'd lost a LOT of muscle and weight, and just now 7 months later she's finally starting to get chubby. I haven't had as much time to work with her yet as I've had liked... but what she really needed was to gain weight and have time off to play :] which is what she's getting!

  • well all u need to do is feed her a little bit more than u really feed and in no time she will back to normal and i remeber when the horse that my mom is getting me she was really skinny cuz her owner didnt feed her so my mom payed someone to fatten her up and my mom is getting her tommrow:Thursday 8,2009 my very first horse and we r nameing her Blossom Starfire Dillard(her first second and last name) and i hope u and your horse complete happynies

  • thanks! LOL I wish it were so easy

She's been on MASSIVE amounts of feed for 7 months, until just now, I moved my girls to a new farm, with GREAT pasture. FINALLY I can decrease her grain, take her off corn oil, and she's holding her weight! :]

  • o my gaash she looks like the mare im buying. shes a 5 year old chestnut tb mare

  • really??? That's what Sugar is now, 5. And she's a TB, off the track :]

what's yours' registered name? Maybe they're related!! almost all TBs are :p

  • oh i doubt their related lol. um shes 5. and she lives on kamloops B.C um. her name is sienna. but her raceing name is "once in a blue moon" but we call her blue lol

  • that's pretty! [:

  • That's a big challenge. Every OTTB I've met has hurt me and then tried to kill me :) I lived though, and I still love them to death. Best of luck! She's absolutely stunning. Just one thing, idk if this has been mentioned before or not, but at 0:11 you let her rub her face against you, that's not good. It's a sign of disrespect, it means that you are lower in the pecking order than her. No horse would do that to the lead horse. My advice, don't let her. Once again, stunning :) <3

  • yup :] luckily she's just a big puppy dog! she's had her crazy moments, but nothing worse than when training up my other mare

Yup I know what you mean. The only reason I allow that (and only from my older mare, Tilly), is because we've literally been through so much together...that she's more like a sister to me than a pet. But she knows she's ONLY allowed to do it after a workout, after I've taken her bridle off, when I offer for her to rub. /Any/ other time, and she gets disciplined LOL

  • She has amazzing conformation very well put together... have fun training her

  • Wow! She is a beauty! She should be a joy for training

  • yup! she's been a nut haha. But this summer, we've lost months of time, as she's having trouble holding shoes (bad Alabama climate and all), and just had her first big injury. But she should be back in a few weeks :)

  • at the beggining she said her horse was green off the track. Ive never known what 'green' meant. Someone explain pleaseee

  • it means she doesn't have much training. so instead of just riding her around, I have to train her to do everything

  • Meaning of Green is it means need more training

  • beautiful, very pretty

  • wow she is GORGEOUS! what a lovely neck and headset!!!

she looks like a big project, i hope all goes well!

  • aw! yeah QHs are probably easier starter horses :]

  • COOLNESSS :D:D:D

  • She's beautiful!! ;)

It's going to be really hard if in two years you have to sell her ;( But now you have her, ENJOY HER :D:D

  • thanks :] I will

Yeah I've been thinking about that selling thing..and I've come to realize that the amount I sell her for will probably not cover the amount it'll cost to keep her. SO I'm thinking more about leasing her out when she's all trained, and we could get a bit back little by little, and she'd stay in shape and get "mileage" and all. And in the meanwhile, my other mare will be getting older, and eventually I'll have to give her a lighter load; Sugar might be the perfect replacement

  • Did this Horse ever race in Australia at the start of her career???

  • mm I don't think so..born in the US

  • Awwe shes cute! I might get a mare off the track to, my grandpa is a race horse trainer down here in FL so he would give her to me for free.

  • that's awesome! find a good one :]

  • aw shes really cute! (especially for off the track xD) im sure she will be an awesome eventer in a year or so! haha how long has she raced?

  • I hope so :] even a decent hunter would make me happy haha

not sure, she's 4, so maybe 2 years (or less)

  • yeah. well i bet she has a decent stride length for that xD o ok thats good. is she really hot to ride?

  • she has an amazing trot haha it was really the selling point when I was looking at her

Actually she's not hot at all! I'm still working on reversing her training, but the only thing she's spooked at so far are the neighbors goats, but that's understandable haha

  • yeah in the pics she looks like she extends really well! lol thats sooo cool! is it hard to pick up the right lead? thats what i have heard cuz they always race to the left. haha yeah my horse used to spook at the goats too xD

  • well when we're longeing to the right, she'll start doing flying changes back and forth haha

but when I've ridden her, she's always picked up the right lead when I've asked for it

When they race, they actually do flying changes on the straight-aways between left and right leads, so they don't get tired in a certain direction

  • o thats really cool! o wow i guess iv never really watched one closely while they race. yeah i was looking at some (im in the process of selling my horse) but my mom said that some of them were like lame and insane, but you get a couple where they are amazing. so you never know. but ill prob not get one. lol there are some realllly cute ones on like the canter website tho :)

  • yeah I know what you mean, my first girl has some psychological damage from the drugs they had her on and is a little over-agressive, and she went lame for 6 months 2 years ago. But hopefully my new girl came from a better situation :]

  • o jeez thats crazy! lol. so your other horse was a racer too? did you train her? i love all the greenies :)

  • she is so cute! good luck!

  • haha u bought a chestnut t/b mare

  • yeah I know haha

a lot of people thought I was crazy, but luckily she doesn't fit the stereotype :] she's not crazy tempremental haha

  • at 1:06 what is she doing

  • she's galloping :] she just moves sooo big that her other feet are all 2 ft in the air haha. She's soo pretty! I hope you get to see her sometime soon!

  • shes soo pretty!! her conformation and movements look really nice from the pictures!

    good luck! :D

  • thanks! it's gonna be fun, last night was interesting; she was introduuced to the electric fence lol

  • so cute love her

  • are you still going to ride tilly y are you getting her

  • of course I'm still going to ride tilly! tilly's my first priority in riding, because she's my proven show horse :]

and my new girl needs a LOT of groundwork before she's ready to be ridden consistently

  • WOW

    shes gorgeous,

    im so happy for you!!

cant wait to see more of her!

  • AAHH I'm so excited, we brought her home today!!!

  • shes drop dead gorgeous!!!!!! good luck with her im sure shes gonna do great!!!

  • wow she is super pretty! she takes really nice photos, i think your gonna have fun training her =]

  • I hope so :) yeah they got some really good pictures!

  • Didn't you just get Mattie ?

  • I wish :[

the sale fell through at the last second and I was going crazy so I started looking for another one

  • Oh. So its just Tilly and Suagr [i just called her something :D] ?

    Mattie was a beauty.

  • yeah we'll probably call her sugar haha

Yeah mattie was really amazing and has super potential. she was a bit short for me though. Sugars 16hh and still growing :]

  • shes stunning

cribbing isnt the end of the world i dont no about in tb but my friends very very fit show jumper used to crib he was a 14.2hh welsh cob i think i never new her or the horse at that time because i probs wasnt even born but he used to jump 5ft and went to hixsted how ever you spell that and he was a cribber realy bad, you can get a coller that stops then sucking the air in

  • yeah I read up on it a lot and it won't be a problem for me.

The only problem is I'm going to be reselling her, and it'll make resale a bit harder because a lot of people flip out about it

  • so I guess you didn't like the bay, then? :)

this girl is gorgeous! she has just the prettiest head I've seen in a long while.

  • I fell in love with this one first, then decided I should get the bay, because she doesn't crib.

But I liked this one more all along, she's supposed to move amazingly, and the cribbing is supposed to be really minor :]

  • cool! yeah I love linkin park :] lots of their songs just happen to fit the themes of my videos too haha

  • she's beuatifull she'd make an excellent show horse

  • aww shes gorgeous! =D

  • she is so cute :D

  • chestnut

    look at that arse

    i just love her xxxxxx
