  • Support Our Dream! NYC For 2020 Olympic Games

  • that was pretty cool too bad there not going to be held in new york

  • London is horrible, they have a lot of dangerous teenagers that will stab you on the street.

  • @chwang1990taiwan Yet somehow London still won. It's not like New York doesn't have that too.

  • good. i don't want to see the olympics back in the US for a while, you guys have hosted them too much. Lake Placid twice, Atlanta, Salt Lake City and etc. Canada has only had them 3 times

New york always showing off that's way i hate new york because they think there better than us. there city is nasty. Atlanta is wayyy better than that 2 faces city (new york)!!!!!!!!!!! bit

  • if atlanta is so much better, then reduce your crime, stop screwing around with MARTA, and try to host something bigger than DragonCon every year

  • can i know the song title???

  • LONDON killed NEW YORK

  • what?

  • i am literally glad that London kicks both arrogant NYC and Paris asses

    so shut the fuck up

  • I'm glad too. Now London will be the laughing stock of the world when it's in debt and its ceremonies are tacky as shit.

Second rate city. The only reason New York didn't win was cause New York didn't want it. No one fucking supported it.

  • @itom85 Holy shit you are embarrassing yaself, what does laughing sock mean?

it's hasn't even celebrated yet and ur so jealous of it, come on get over it you bollox

stupid dickhead, London is the world's most visited city by international visitors

in 2008 15.8 million people visited, but only 9.5 million people visited in NYC, and its ranked only 5th most visited city. why don't you just find out in wiki/Tourism

no one supported it?how hilarious, loads of yank r gona come over here then, instead?

  • lmao i dont embarress myself dude. ever. and i think im doing pretty well as youve show you know little to nothing about EITHER city.

paris is the worlds most visited city, not london. and what does international mean? out of country tourists?. thats fine you can have that. cause i could write a book on how many things new york leads london food. food and art are examples.

ive been to london. i wouldnt be ripping on it if i didnt actually see it

its a wanna be new york

  • i have been to NY, SF and LA as well in 08 DEC. NY is overated, i was very disappointed by the disgusting subway stations and trains. south brox is like third world city, full of graffiti and cans and fast food boxes are promoting the streets of brox

even on the wall st, there r ton of hobos .. unbelievable, the poverty rate in london is nothing, just a mole compare to the no. of homeless people and poverty rates of nyc

haven't got a clue why there are so many phone line wires across the streets

  • Third world city? yeah okay. second largest economy in the world. 4th most populated. largest central commercial district.. safest city in the us.

did you even know that your ammaaazing city has double the crime rate of new york? youre twice as likely to get murdered in london.

and i was in london myself. stayed near marble arch. it was shit. piccadily circus made me laugh, poor mans time squae. had like 5 fucking screens.

just accept the facts. new york is better

  • of course London is more dangerous than NYC, because we all are G unlike nyc homos

just shut the fuck up and search in youtube simply *london* it will educate you

  • @itom85 Thats why London is the capital of the 21st century.......And why every weekend you will see a tonne of americans in central london. We've got many more tourist attractions in London than you do in nyc

  • and it funny you point out new yorks subways. londons is no better. smells like piss. just like new york. even my father made a comment it was JUST as gross

  • i got the point then, so i bet you and your stinky dad forgot to put some perfume on body before travel in the busy underground? smells like piss? id strongly recommend you to take a bath before you go out okay? by doing that, you wont get any disgusting smell in anywhere you go.

  • your last two posts confirmed everything i thought about you.

youre a moron and this was a waste of time.. gangsta? really? seriously? lmfao!

i grow tired of you kid. dont you have to wake up early for the schoolbus tomorrow? XD

  • oh and f y i. hip hop culture.. or gangsta..ism or whatever the fuck you call it?

invented in the 1970s. south bronx. new york city.

  • yes i know that too hip hop was invented by african american in south bronx in early 70s

but we aint that shit, we dont do it, here our thing is called Grime. was invented in East London, you bollox mate

  • omg kid just shutup now lol

  • @itom85 London has the longest underground transport system in the world and your discrediting it because of smell you would find in a fraction of it? Very logical.

  • and jealous? of london? with its 4 total skyscraper? of its pending olympic debt? yes. you got me dude.

  • @itom85 Yh thats why your so passionate about your claims of why new york is a better city on a video of new yorks bid for the olympic games that London are hosting. Its arguable that new york is a better city but i can assure you the education must be shocking.

  • POR EL ESPAÑOL OFICIAL EN EL COI.

  • POR EL ESPAÑOL OFICIAL EN EL COI.

  • london won xD YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY now i can have a 2 hour train journey down to London instead of sitting watching it on TV :D Thank you!

  • the olympics should have went to new york!not London!!theyve hosted it 2 times already let other cities host the games!!

  • I bet the people watching this advert - in the advert - were pretty confused...

what? the olympic flame...what? fireworks, why? *cheers*

lol, i think a place with the death penalty still, can't be called the beacon of hope and with the largest amount of tolerance.

Though it is possibly the most diverse, it's all built on immigrants, the people who are moving there now and 100 years ago are just as important to the country.

  • America truly is a beacon of hope! no other country in the world has our diversity, our amount of tolerance. We truly embody what world peace means. We may have our faults and the rest of the world hates us, but if you live in America you just have an unyeilding sense of pride, even if you yourself hate AMerican policies. I hope they are in Chicago, we need to change how AMerica is viewed by the rest of the world... we really arent bad people.

  • its alright mate i know :)

every country has their faults i know, a lot of countries have plenty moee!

you cant judge a nation on their politics, a visit to it is how you can judge. thats why i like america. i'll admit its not all perfect, but where is?

    (from UK)

  • USA should not have anymore Olympic Games for at least another 50 years!!! The world does revolve around stupid americans and there stupid country!!!

  • New York would not be able to host a successful Olympics. There just isn't the cooperation between the various competing governmental agencies and NIMBY groups. You need a political machine like Chicago does to force it through. Example: When Daley wanted to close a small airport on the lakefront (Meigs Field) he ordered a city construction crew to carve X's in the runway in the middle of the night, stranding dozens of planes and pissing off the FAA. In NYC the WTC is still a pit after 7 years.

  • i think the games would have been wonderful in nyc, but it wasnt organized well enough. It gives Chicago a chance to host in 2016 and i really hope it gets it.

  • the games were never organized in NYC to begin with... 0_o

  • they took a fuckin english song and scouse artist in john lennon

that backfired u stupid fuckin yanks

    London 2012

    hahahahahahahahahahahahaha

  • it "backfired" because the theme song of one video used a british singer?

Haha you're an idiot. The Beatles had more American fans than British anyway, so we can use their music any fucking time we want :)

  • It's gonna be the tackiest olympics ever

    ahahahaahahahahahahahahahaahah

  • london's bid video was way better... london2012 will be awesome

  • Why ar ethey using a British song ? weird

  • and america was the fucking death of him irony or what?

  • exactly what i was thinking...

  • @PaintedSilence

Maybe because there's the "Imagine" flooring in the park.

    Also seems suitable, lyrically.

  • @PaintedSilence It's not a British song, it's sung by a British guy but it has nothing to do with Britain.

The olympics is meant to bring people together, that's what the song is also about.

  • New Yorkers must be silly to think they'll have a chance to host the Olympic. The world do not want another 9/11. Please no more Olympics on American soil, not in New York, not in Chicago or any otherr cities in America.

  • That is unfair...for the first time in over 200 years New York got attacked and s

  • **sorry my comment is all messed up...youtube moved around the discard button***

That isn't fair at all, New York got attacked for the first time in over 200 years and suddenly America isn't safe enough to host the olympics....Did you forget who hosted the Olympics this year?

  • yes but it was only 8 years ago, an attack could happen in london as well as it did on 2005, so we should watch out for that

  • New york promotional video using a song by john lennon...who is english!

  • tell me about it

  • LONDON HERE WE COME YER!!!!!!!!

  • rubbish

  • unlucky.

  • HA. What an embarrassing presentation. No wonder they never even came close to winning.

  • Didnt come close? What the fuck are you talking about? They made it to the top 5.

  • It's not that hard to make it into the top five.

....4th place out of 5 is isn't close...

    unfortunately.

  • NYC had to win rights to represent the US first, remember? Beating San Fransisco? There aren't just 5 cities at random..

Makeing it to the top five is still getting far.

  • Anyway, usually i love debateing, but seeing as this is something i really dont care about, and seeing how your name pretty much advertises youre a flamer against New York, I have no desire to get into it.

But yeah, considering a number of cities that have hosted the olympics have gone into economic debt afterwards, and the fact that I really dont want to be following the brilliant olympics put on by Bejjing, im slightly happy London got it.

Itll be fun to laugh at. Take care.

  • Fair enough if you don't really don't care, but...

You've taken my name wrong. I'm actually all for a future NYC Olympic Games.

No US city has gone into debt after hosting. LA 1984, Atlanta 1996, & Salt Lake City 2002 are all seen as economically successful Games. And if a city does loose money, then they have also gained benefits like improved infrastructure.

And all Games are different, they arent about toping the last - London ain't worrying about Beijing.

  • No US city, no. Youre right.

Oh. Well uh.. lol. Alright then. XD

I dunno how a city can "loose" money. :P

And if I was London, i would be. its like coming on stage to do stand up after the funniest routine in a decade was done right before you.

    There WILL be comparisions.

  • A city can loose money / go into debt by spending more than they have. Overtime however, the money spent on Olympic infrastructure can turn a profit.

There will be comparisons, of course. But things aren't so black and white. You don't need 2008 soldiers turn performers, big, unpractical venues, etc to stage a great Olympics. Look at Sydney 2000 - nothing like Beijing 2008. Just an open, inclusive, fun Games that will continue to resonate as one of the best.

  • Oh! I think you mean a city can "lose" money, not "loose" money.

    You missed the joke. lol.

But yeah i see your point.

  • Not close enough out of the Top 5.

  • they ruined it wiv john lennon

  • why do americans dramatise every thing??

  • kuz there fat

  • lol i like the fact some one plused u

  • New york? new york is a scruffy city doubt they'll hve it there, all the shit youve been saying to us, time you'd get a piece of your own medicine, cant afford to buy good land, instead they build pointless buildings that go hundreds of feet, just to show off.

  • lolz...oh man....if the oylmpics was in NYC....i dont know what i would have done with myself...it would have been a joyus moment in time and especially in my life time...i think would have burned myself with the Olympic Torch of i had to run with it in Queens...lolz!

  • lol

  • LONDON FTW!!! W00T!!!

  • YERRRR

  • great ending. but Olympics in NYC right after the towers are completed will be a much better experience. plus we just had Atlanta 3 games ago. contrary to popular American belief, there ARE other countries in the world...albeit INFERIOR HAHAHAHHAHAHAH

  • idiot

  • Bah, they even had to borrow British music.

  • Is it ? hahaha,

  • aye the beatles

  • At first i thought that too, but technically that wasn't the beatles, it was John Lennon, that song was composed in New York City and the video was also made in NYC, besides John Lennon lived in NYC, and sadly He was also killed there, so i guess it was a smart choice.

  • Yes I guess on reflection its a smarter choice. The fact still stands that he is a Liverpudlian, although you could say that demonstrates the Olympics ability to bring people together from across the globe.

  • It is much better Madrid ... And should have won

  • Wow, you're busted! You've gone onto every New York video and bashed the city. You're truly and obviously evious and pathetic.

  • Comment removed

  • I hope Chicago 2016 falls flat in its face and fails, so that NY can go for 2020 and win.

  • Why should NY get the olympics they always win USA they got everything so i think it is right for UK to get them

  • and besides ny is not capital city and only capitals should hoast it

  • america has to many large citys which get the opertunity to host it were as britian has few, like many euro countrys and most around the world, it should only be capitals aloud to host it i agree

  • Love the Olympics, love NYC. But i can't stand this song.

  • Why, whats wrong w/ John lennon? And yes, I also love NYC.

  • It'll be a nice place to host the games in 2016 is Quezon City or Manila, Philippines (In Quezon City a land has been reserved & prepared for an olympic park).

  • They needed a police escort hahaha

  • Imagine Chicago 2016

  • there is been St Louis in 1900 i hope see it in africa/south africa never hosted any ..

  • Woo! Go London! n to all u doubters jst wait the 2012 olympic games will be the best yet!!!! NYC and Paris lost so get over it!

  • A nice ad, but not worthy of the Olympics. NYC is so NOT an Olympic caliber town.

  • i agree totally!

  • How exactly? If Atlanta, a city that was pretty much unknown internationally at the time, could in 1996, who's to say New York, a world renowned city, with all kinds of people, can't?

  • Oh jsyk to the person who posted about Atlanta in 1996... There was 1 reason why Atlanta basically one... It was between Atlanta or Athens... Of course Athens was NO where near being ready to the games (even though it was coming up on the Olympics 100 year anniversary) So it was between a city that was ready or wasn't ready.. the IOC did not want to tarnish its reputation even more coming off of how Montreal lost a substantional amount of money because they over spent and scared off many future

  • (Con.)possible Olympic host cities... Yet ic your point by saying how NYC did not win... idk i believe it was because again Americans really don't care about numerous international events such as the Olympics.. nd the IOC wanted a city that cared... not just a city to add more stones to its belt... which NYC was basically doing

  • Jcool663,get your facts straight.NYC 2012 had 70%-80% public approval. The country really does care about international events like the Olympics. If not, than why would NBC pay billions and billions, way more than anyone else,on broadcasting rights? We may not care about sports like Swimming, Athletics, and Gymnatics, but when the Games come along,we're all over them supporting our atheles. This kind of enthusiasm is what NY had going-The IOC would have made 25% more money in NY than in previous games.

  • That is true about the revenue... But lately have you noticed the last 3 Olympic games that have been televised in the USA by NBC have been decreasingly getting lower views and are on a downward slope... The IOC does take in part these factors into their decision... Beyond the point... even if the country wanted to host the games the IOC needs a city that is somewhere near ready... and backing up London; It had 2 Olympics under its belt... Many other factors are also played in but i think NYC

  • London and Paris hosting previously, IF anything, hurt them more than helped. I'm sure the IOC would prefer new hosts. But in th end, it comes down to who had the best overrall bid... And 2012 was just not the time for a NY Games. Tecnically, (venues, transportation, etc.), it wasn't up to par with London or Paris. And certain other factors, like Vancouver hosting 2010, worked agaisnt it. I wish 2012 could have been a "warm-up bid", but considering that they didn't go for 2016, it wasn't.

  • Oh, and yeah, ratings have been slipping, but compared to other countries, they are still outstanding. And I don't think it was the actual support that was slipping, it's that Games have now had to face off agaisnt other network's Primetime schedule. NBC still is the IOC's biggest money maker, broadcasting-wise and it's amazing what they have in store for Beijing, in terms of coverage.

  • True... I think on that note we can agree..

  • Comment removed

  • i wish they won the bid or Paris, woulda been a great experience

i heard the voting machine was broken

i gonna help start the bid again if LA , Canada or Chicago doesn't win 2016

  • Back the Los Angeles 2016 Bid!!!

  • Santiago de Chile 2018, Candidate City Winter Olimpic Games

  • Just a quick quistion... Even If New York hosted the games... Where would they fit the stadiums i mean New York isnt exactly an open field....

  • They shot John!

  • whose idea was it to use a British artist as the backing track?

If I didn't know better I would have thought they were promoting New York's city planning

  • Oh my good GOD!!!! its no wonder you yanks lost!! that was awful!!!

  • That was real cool... Thanks for uploading it... Was that a comerical in New York?
