  • patients hot ...makes osce revision mre fun lmao :)

  • er, its a respiratory exam! why check for an apex beat? stop nitpicking! yes of course it doesnt include every thing you could possibly test for!! but it is a good thorough exam! how about grow up and look at multiple sources to best inform your practice! IDIOT

  • @Roylonergan

should check apex beat as causes of a non-palpable apex beat are pleural effusions, pneumothorax and emphysematous bullae - all very relevant to a respiratory examination. Should also check for a parasternal heave indicative of right ventricular hypertrophy which could be caused by cor pulmonale.

  • is whispering pectoriloquy necessary

  • This examination seems a little more hurried compared to another one I saw.

  • you forgot to check for pedal edema, apex beat.

    thanks though

  • thank you

  • Some explanations of the findings would have been useful.

  • no you're completely right

  • I think you ask the patient to say "99" for tactile fremitus. You ask the patient to say "e" for egophony and auscultate at the same time. Please correct me if i'm wrong.
