I think it"s very disturbing when the priest/childhood friend says " he was a believer" really?? REALLY??? He was a believer and a sick sadistic killer?......no sir you were fooled into thinking he was a believer.....big difference in my opinion!
@gPuRziaNb yes you have a valid point, but I believe he is refering to btk being a Christian, and yes I am assuming, but they are talking about a christian church membership, and then I say no , you cannot be a murderer of children and be a christian believer. But yes I do agree a child murderer could believe there is a God as much as anyone else. I shoulda made the distinction, about my point. My point is his friend seems to turn a blind eye to this man being a child killer.
@TheRealDeal848 Dennis Radar was a sick fuck pure and simple... He terrorised families and it's still felt now. I live in Southeastern Oklahoma and I know 3 grown children whose mother was killed by BTK. The kids let him in and he killed their mother. It messed them up,one is not all there now. I've done clinicals at a sheltered workshop he is in, he looks normal until he speaks, it's sad. BTK is satan himself and no amount of punishment will do.
@jayrichards23ok oh man. I feel gutted by what yopu said. Those three kids. Holy crap. :C I am an atheist but god or no god..those poor little kids. I dont think people are actually imagining what goes on in something like this. Holy crap. That man is a sub human coward. He waited for children to answer the door because kiddos are innocent. If there is a heaven and im mistaken there will be children at the gates. I wish I could do something for those people. :C
Its got fuckall to do with what religion you are, catholic, protestant, budhha blah blah...The cunt was just a sick warped beast and i,d like to see the fat piece of shit break into my house......I,d slice his throat !!!
@TheGLOCK40cal lol We all do but the thing is if a serial killer breaks into your house mine or anyone's the outcome will be the same almost every single time. Death to the owner :( They don't just break in.... When they decide to break in they will know every single thing about whoever their victim is going to be. When to do it and what time a person is most vulnerable. I would love to think I would get the upper hand too, but I would probably be killed.
I was disappointed in the ending. I was hoping they'd go more into detail about how the cops caught him. The investigation is always the best part. This documentary seemed to give Radar more credit than they gave to the police.
@marilyn007manson1 probably because it's kind of geared more towards the mind of dennis rader and not the btk case with the investigation involved. the title is 'the btk killer speaks' so the police involvement was just excluded entirely given the scope of the doc. i'm with you though, it bummed me out that they didn't even explain it in the slightest :/
Bill Curtis's narrators voice is so cool. it makes it more interesting and it just draws you into the story...and its even more chilling when the stories true :O
@anderdorm if you are confident in your beliefs why do you care if others believe the same. and the caps don't help either. i say this to you as a fellow christian
@anderdorm Its funny how you don't have a counter argument and only point and yell "Ignorance!" When you condone murder and rape because god commanded and or/ partakes in it; that is morally corrupt. Apperantly you think that god can do no wrong, which is mighty convenient for a child murdering, rape endorsing, slavery loving, racistic and sadistic character like him. You acting like 6-year old pointing and screaming does not change that.
@anderdorm It's really cute how you talk about ignorance and than demonstrate yours on my position. So if your cool with baby killing, child killing, rape, slavery and the list of other atrosities by vertue of that god did it, than your as morally corrupt as Rader himself.
@anderdorm That is if its true ofcourse. Even than, that makes him cruel and malicious. He has pretty much the same standards as Dennis Rader, yet Rader is evil and god is good. Why does god kill, maim and destroy? Because he must and you have been warned in written word... Wait a minute; that's exactly the same as your god!
@anderdorm A priest's daughter who loses her honor by committing fornication and thereby dishonors her father also, shall be burned to death. (Leviticus 21:9 NAB)
If a man is caught in the act of raping a young woman who is not engaged, he must pay fifty pieces of silver to her father. Then he must marry the young woman because he violated her, and he will never be allowed to divorce her. (Deuteronomy 22:28-29 NLT)
What kindness comes out of that? I know the bible very well...
@AJBuwalda which is one of the reasons why I don't believe the thing. Another beauty:
Happy he that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the rock.
(Psalm 137:9)
If you want to convince yourself that he is a "fake christian" because you can't phantom that a christian could be able to do that (even though you did say that we are all sinners) because you can't hack it with reality than go ahead. Its just really sad.
@anderdorm It was not a question, it was a logical deduction. Fact is that the only thing one needs to do to be christian is believe in Jesus. That makes it quite different from queens or other functions. I can also turn this fallacious argument around: "You saying Rader wasn't christian does not make it so." The only one who can judge that is Rade and he said he was. And the best? Please!
@anderdorm I think the only one here sounding bitter is you, bro. I don't care or mind that your a christian, but when you proclaim "our people can't do such things; that is beneath us" than you just sound ignorant. Nobody (of any creed) understands rader and most sane people would say he is not a representative of christianity in general, but he was still a chritian. If that bothers you than you have a problem, not me.
@AJBuwalda In all my years of studying and observing differant religions, I've noticed that most of the strongers believers in christianity are usualy the one's that have the darkest kept secrets. I'm not taking sides in this debate. Just thought I'd throw in my 2 cents if helps anyone proove their point.
@marilyn007manson1 Most serial killers are white. There is also a potential racial/cultural angle to this. Since most white people are Christian, then it might the race that is an issue.
@jceepf it has nothing to do with religion or race per se. Religion has nothing to do with it either, otherwise we'd have a SHITTON more serial killers than we do. Race may or may not play a part.. but i imagine it's more cultural expectations than anything. Culture.. i want to say culture has a lot to do with it.. but canada and america. Almost identical in culture. Yet canada has no appreciable serial killer population. America does. So i'm not sure that's the case either.
@jceepf They say it has to do with some sort of childhood trauma.. I don't know about that. I want to say it does and it probably does in SOME cases. But i think in OTHER cases it's a type of autism that hasn't been diagnosed yet. Some are sociopaths, sure. But many serial killers don't want to kill and DO have a conscience. They're just disconnected from everyone else to the point where they can ignore that conscience. That sounds like a weird kind of autism to me.
@anderdorm Really? He sounds bitter? You are a christian if you believe in christ. That's the definition. He is right to point out the no true scotsman fallacy, so you calling him an idiot is kind of ironic. Christianity doesn't prevent you from commiting murder.
@anderdorm yeah, i dont know why religious leaders always come onto these shows & say, oh he was a good christian...pssh, he was a psychopath who used the religion just like he used all the people in his life as well as the profession he chose. you'd think that would be fairly easy to understand, perhaps easier than why a "good christian" would kill of bunch of his neighbors in a heinous fashion. im not religious, so maybe i dont understand, but its not like theres a cultural gap here...
@anderdorm - "True Christian" - This is what is referred to as the "no true Scotsman" argument and is a accepted logical fallacy. Perhaps a simpler explanation for you is that I call it as I see it or I call a spade a spade. Either way, if Christians don't want to be perceived this way then they need to stop behaving as they do.
@anderdorm - That's what Christians say every time one of you is caught killing or raping children. He was a Christian and on the church council. Don'y Christians teach their children they will burn in hell and be tortured forever if they step out of line? Sounds like the perfect religion for him.
