me i add the smae problem, change the maf nothing happen...then i change the fuel filter and unplug the knn took it for a spin....my air filter was dead and restricting air flow.... what did you do for yours?? change the sensorm cleaned it or something else?
if you unplug your maf sensor the ecu does the work for it and you dont get the dying effect of the nonfunctioning maf not to metnion your car runs just fine without the piece of crap my a4 used to basically do the same just downright die sometimes then id be at a light trying to turn it back on only for it to do the same minutes if not second later
i have a 00 max se and its stalls when engine is cold but once it warms up its ok but when i floor it at high speeds it sucks ass it gets stuck on 90 mph and wont go nowhere and i was thinkin it was the transmission and the check engine light is on so could it be the maf
@juan5104carlos the whole bit about the car just kinda dying really didnt pop out at you at all huh? well please never try and diagnose any other vehicles because ur sense on the matter is obviously nonexistant
I have a 2000 GLE and I had the same problem at 168,000kms. In the mornings it would hesitate so badly despite being warmed up for about 5 mins, it got so bad the engine would start dying on me. I purchased a new MAF and it runs like a champ again.
BTW you DO NOT have to get Nissan to re program the ECU, it will re learn with the new MAF sensor unit in. Also you can fix it right at home as it is located right in front of the throttle body.
dude, i have a 2000 GLE and its doing the same shit. Fuckin sucks all around, but when it hits 3500RPM, its like it hits a brick wall. I miss my stang :(
same goes for my monte carlo ls, i found out my body control module is junk, and not sending any power to my maf, it has like a lag when you take off, but then gets better.
Did the car kinda jerk the whole time? Mine hesitates when I punch it or give more that 50 percent throttle, but it jerks the whole time its revving up, like it's trying to go though it's confused.
Imagine someone leaning forward and back quickly trying to urge the car on, it's like that accept the car is doing it to ME!
Thanks, I might have to. I cleaned the MAF a while back and the performance increased but now it's back to what it was. Damn used car! Know of a place where I could get one cheap?
I have the same problem on my 4.3l vortec, bad or durty maf sensor does that kind of hesitation when accelerating. Clean it or change it then unplug the battery to reset your computer if you dont have any scantool monitor near you.
well... maybe not, but, i need some details like; is it the 2.5L engine ? manuel transmission? Do you know what are the DTC codes? a MAF DTC code doesn't always mean a bad Mass Air Flow Sensor. It may be a stuffed catalytic converter.
haha, its been fixed for a while now.. :) i just havent had the time to really do a "FIXED" Video :P.. i doubt itll look like much of a gain, cuz the weather difference.. This video is basically in winter... and its Summer in Texas, and we all know how hot Texas gets.. haha
@FlipCpt45 Okay cool, but is that hard... I don't know too much under the hood of a car, but I have google, tools, and a will to do anything if I don't have to pay a mechanic. I take apart computers everyday, but not cars.
@FlipCpt45 oh okay. Well the funny thing is that my engine light came on for this right AFTER changing my air filter. I think it is a coinsidence though because I can't find anything wrong with the connections or sealing around it.
Thats slow as fuck

Mine got wet, and i drove it and when i laid on it it went about as fast as yours. Mines a 5.0 mustang so it felt WEAK.
it felt as if the fuel injectors were completely clogged. or i was missing plug wires.
im hoping to fix it tommarow.

dineth 4 years ago
@FlipCpt45 How much did it cost you to fix it? Mine just went up and the dealer wants like 600 dollars

@1paulll
I think I paid around $150 for the MAF from Dave B (South Point Nissan, Google the number) and replaced it myself.
I replaced the tube along with the sensor, but you can actually just take off the sensor and drop the new one in.

@1paulll
Nah, I'd just do the sensor swap, all you need is some security torx bits.. It's only 2 screws and it pops out with little force.
Check your air filter though. You might need a new one or it might not be sealing correctly because that is how mine went. :P

@1paulll
Yeah, I ghetto rigged a mod onto my car (Ghetto Air box) and the coat hanger slipped and let unfiltered air into the sensor which destroyed it :P
Check out Maxima.org and search around the forums
