  • Do you like the soyboy tofu? I bought a package of the smoked soyboy and it was not edible, it tasted like spongy smoked styrofoam. Doe's the italian brand taste any better?

  • @TheLissabee I think it tastes pretty good. I would recommend making our version of the tofu lin. It's a pretty recent video that we did. It comes out really good.

  • I know you have heard it before but you would make a great role on the Food Network for the creativity aspect. Why aren't you on the food network?!

  • Amazing recipe! I'd considered going vegan for some time BUT never did cause I simply had no idea what to cook, buy etc. YOUR videos have really enabled me to get up and run with this. You should really be on the food network channel because you have a niche that's not out there in mainstream TV and your video's are funny too. Question... what is the significance of the zombie, my husband and I have been discussing this but have yet to figure it out. Keep up the great work!

  • @tracyrscott Thanks! The original concept was a script for the movie which we used for the idea in our cooking show. Let's just say that, in the movie, at some point, the main character isn't so lucky fending off zombies. We intend to shed some light on that in our cookbook.

  • @wboni001 we did these with tofu b/c someone asked us to do some videos with tofu haha. You can always leave the tofu out and use something like seitan, which you can make yourself and leave soy sauce out. We will have more recipes without soy. The shirts our on the website store, which is down at the moment. Contact us here in a personal message or at zombiegate at gmail dot com.

  • @wboni001 Awesome, I suggest using the seitan we used in our Philly Cheese Steak video, and when you go to cook itroll it up in a bit of cheesecloth. It will keep its shape and come out nicely. A little update of our own. :)

Will keep you posted since I am FAR for kitchen friendly lol I guess that is why I am relying on people like you to teach me how to cook vegan :-) oh and all the rescue dogs will be having some since every single dog that comes into my rescue is under a vegan diet lol

  • Don't replace almond milk with soy milk (I was out and didn't want to go to the store) and it is too sweet with the soy. Still awesome, but not as good as with the almond milk.

  • @jackiejoy89 the Italian tofu we used has a certain texture. Soyboy sells tofu lin that would work the same. You could use extra firm tofu but I would just go for some vegan chickn strips or something like that instead.

  • @ZombieGate I like the vegan zombie but he should not use any refined food products like white flour, white sugar, or anything has been stripped of its whole based nutrition. This is the problem with the American diet, and plus they eat meat !

  • Hey I made that alfredo sauce today for the first time, im not a big cooker. And it came out OK. It kinda tasted like whole weat sauce. Was it suppose to taste like that or did I add too much flour or too little milk?

  • @AmandaRose111 tofu is good and there are countless ways to prepare it. It's not bad if you make it right. :)

  • @itsMinuteMaid It was done at Halo in Syracuse which is owned by a long time vegan. As far as I know, it is vegan ink.

  • I tried the Vegan Fettuccine Alfredo today. I made fresh almond milk without having them blanched and I left a few crunchy almond parts. Wow! :-)

  • For those asking about tofu, Field Roast makes a great faux Italian sausage that would probably work in this. I believe their products are tofu free. And, almond milk is going to make a more flavorful Alfredo sauce than soy milk. It's going to give it a rich flavor. Most vegan cheese sauces have nuts of some kind in them.

  • @Luckyman068 I'm pretty sure any tofu or non dairy milk would be fine. Almond milk is just very deliciously nutty, whereas soy is kind of sweet. thats just my opinion :)

  • @Luckyman068 You can, but we recommend almond milk. It's so easy to make. I think I might do a quick tutorial for it.

  • @ZombieGate It really is dead easy. One part almond to two parts water. Blend it and then strain it through a cheese cloth. That's it.

  • THANK YOU!!!! Fettuccine alfredo was my hands down favorite food of all time before I went vegan and I have tried a few vegan recipes but they didn't taste anything similar to fettuccine alfredo (they called for blended tofu as the sauce).

  • @MrMireya888 I've heard rumor that Food Network won't do a vegan show because some of their sponsorship is the meat and dairy industry. That's why you see so much carcass cooking there. Public t.v. is getting The Jazzy Vegetarian in October however so I'm going to look for that.
