@KJGould It's spelt "grobbit" because it's of gaelic etymology. But you pronounce it as "grovit". Grobbit is the correct spelling, grovit is the correct pronunciation. Since it's from England, you'd assume it's an english word, right? So there's just been a bunch of confusion over it.

right so its NOT a front head lock/choke? its passing the forearm across the face which makes the head twist to the side and forces the chin close to the shoulder when applying pressure? is that right. i know its been shown well from 3 different angles but its like a lock and NOT a choke?

the biting story is fantasy, 5 strong men were not repelled with huge bite marks on them delivered by a human beings pitiful little bite- its up there with crushing larynxes with a flick of your wrist and bursting eyeballs like ripe grapes- there is a difference between what we would like to be able to do and what we actually can do in a fight... but in the battle between self delusion and reality, reality usually wins.

Grappling/wrestling moves can be pretty devastating, that is why I always told my students if grabbed to immediately to start biting the crap out of their attacker. Bite them in the balls if they can. Also, go for the eyes and always (if possible) grab their testicles and pop them. It's hard to play at wrestling when someone is ripping huge chunks of flesh off your body or with an eye ball gouged out, or a testicle burst.

How is it possible to cheat when protecting your life? All options are open. I have personaly seen five strong men try to wrestle a man to the ground and restrain him only to all run away with huge bite marks all over their bodies. How can you continue to "grapple" when your eye has been gouged out? The reason grappling works in MMA is becausd it allows people to wear cups and has rules about eye gouging and biting. The real world does not such "rules.

Dont believe for one second that biting gouging and grabbing are panaceas- they are not. Learn to fight properly AS WELL. The only responsible thing to do is to train dilligently in many styles that focus on hard, non-compliant contact.

Anyone who relies soley on "cheats" (foul tactics- whatever) is deceiving themselves about the real nature of violence.
