I was wondering about the species of the bird, as well. I know that red-winged blackbirds attack like this all the time in order to protect a hidden nest nearby (I've even witnessed them chasing large hawks away from known nesting sites).
This bird is not shaped like a red-wing blackbird, though. What state was this filmed in? I might be able to narrow it down.
