Actually the iPhone 3G is not cheaper. AT&T offers contracts that are 20 dollars more expensive than the ones offered with the old iPhone. So they will make up for the cheaper price through contracts. Also with the old iPhone you went to a store bought it for 399 and signed the AT&T contract any time you wanted, meaning never. Now you have to sign it at the store meaning two years of monthly pays

wow your lucky, here in britain we cannot pre-order the iphone yet, they still havent even thought of the prices yet for the pay as you go.
