  • that's too bad. I f you want to put out an "Old Thumper" or even a a double up on the style. It is hard to earn your wings with a stable of ringwood ales.

  • Shipyard dissenters likely loath the Ringwood yeast. Only so much diacetyl butterscotch a palate can stand. Are the big beers in the Pugsley series brewed with this yeast as well?

  • @bigwoofer2 Oh yeah the ringwood is in this one in full force!

  • hey chris, checkout/review some weihenstephaner dunkel, they have it at bevmo.

  • Sounds really good. Great review. Cheers!!!

  • @drolretfa yeah it was a really solid offering from them. Cheers

  • Hey Chris, did you notice a lot cocoa and chocolate notes in this particular brew? I had it a few weeks ago, and as the brew began to warm up in the glass, the cocoa and chocolate notes kind of overwhelmed the blueberry notes.

  • @wezzer77 I noticed some cocoa but it was not overwhelming at all. Blended really nicely I thought

  • You made any money off the website yet ?

  • I thought this beer was straight up disgusting. Drain pour, and that takes a LOT for me to do.

  • This is a great beer. Cheers!

  • @imbibehour Agreed. Cheers

  • Iv yet to have a beer from Shipyard because i hear a lot of bad things about them. But this one sounds interesting. Iv even been to beer bars (not gonna name names) and when asked if they ever carry Shipyard its always the same reaction. "No, we dont carry that kinda stuff around here".

  • @SouthernOregonOrgani Some of their year round offerings are really weak. But all of the Pugsley Signature series stuff I have had has been spot on good.

  • They had this on tap at Mahar's so I tried it. Basically tastes like a really strong porter with a bluebrry aftertaste. It doesn't taste anything like a scotch ale - I got no smoke on it. I thought itwas actually a little over sweetened and DID have a kind of Kool Aid taste to it. I was glad I only got a 12oz mug of it instead of anything larger. That'd be a challenge to drink an entire 22oz bomber by yourself.

  • I like blueberries enough that I might have to pick this one up. Sounds like an interesting beer.

  • I call it blueberry muffin beer, straight up tastes like it.

  • @dperga Yeah its like a blueberry muffin and coffee beer haha

  • @BeerGeekNation Breakfast of champions!

  • I was really lucky to get this on tap. I loved it! Great reveiw!

  • @Imasofat Yah I had this on tap in Boston, it was really solid stuff

  • great review...my guess is this is shipyards version of a fruity black and tan...

what im thinking its is a mix of the sea dog blueberry ale which is a very excellent fruit infused ale with a great brewed porter..

ill have 2 hit up my local whole foods 2 see if they have this in stock

im eager 2 do a review myself

  • @mikey2cool Yeah imnot sure if its their Blueberry ale or not to be honest. It was a really complex fruit beer though. Really nice stuff

  • Great Review! That beer sounds awesome... nothing like i have ever seen before for sure.

  • @jah67190 Yeah this was nothing like anything I have ever had for sure.
