The scales and timings used are just too complicated to the unexperienced ear to appreciate and are thus mistaken for horrible non pre-meditated music, aka `shitty un-coordinated mumbo-jumbo!```When its actualy too professionaly coordinated yet again for the musicaly unexperienced ear to understand its pure talent/genious-ness!!! I study jazz theory and spend most of my time doing something that purtains to music, homie. Acting superior and talking down, boasting about how much I know more know than others on music won't help anything. @rouenea huh? you're a little presumptuous. what makes you assume i've never studied jazz theory? maybe i know just as much as you. i didn't really like jazz that much, but i played it for at least a year and knew plenty about it. jazz has it's own unique dissonance but i'm not a huge fan of what a lot of it sounds like, the drum beats for every song by almost every band were excruciatingly similar, i just got tired of it. it was a good phase but jazz isn't that cool. it's kind of boring.

There are just as many good metal bands here in the states as there are in any other country. It's just about preference because each country has their niche.
