The one thing that bothers me about this game is that the developers seem to want to force you to aim down sights even at point blank range. That alone removes a ton of skill from the game because you no longer have to decide wither its better to hip fire or take the time to aim for a more precise shoot.

@TeddMorgan No, it does not zoom in at all. I've been playing RO for years now, and there hasn't been any zooming during that time... All you have to do is watch some gameplay from youtube if you don't own the game to see it yourself.

@XtremeRealisme666 I'm REEEEAAALLY hoping that these amazing reality-based computer games will catch onto the consoles. They won't be as good but I was a console-only gamer a few months ago and was sick and tired of the CoD games. Still am. I haven't turned on my 360 in nearly 2 months now because of red orchestra. Until the consoles smarten up and come up with some good games, I'm sticking with the comp :P perhaps some day I can pick up the controller again but for now, I await this masterpiece

1C is publishing it as retail too. Ostfront was released as retail too, I bought it from a local "walmart" in Finland. You can have your precious hard copy ;)

As a matter of fact, I plan on preloading the game from Steam and the buying the hard copy, register my cd key and install the game without touching the actual dvd.

@zackhanscom Too bad they don't go all the way with the sound though, just like everybody they only use "enviromental audio", making sounds in the distance more muffled and such, but not actual speed of sound. In real life you won't hear the explosion of an artillery hit 1 km away, it would take 3 seconds before you'd hear it. That was really obvious in the first video part when he shot some guy with a scope, and you heard the guy scream at the moment he fired. That's worse than crosshairs.

@fisk0 well dude if they made this, they woould have to make a diferent sound for every single player in the game, this could be added in singleplayer, but in multiplayer it would add one hell of work, since the sound would be diferent for every player in every part of the map, if you see in my point of view, u'll know what i mean... (even though the guy killed by a scope and screamed rly sucks, well that could be fixed, it rly could)

kurwa :) wrescie nastepca fenomenalnej i orginalnej starej Red Orchestry na taki tytul czekalem ! w koncu zostanie przerwana passa wypuszczania tepych aracdowek typu mw2 bc2 moha w,ktorych cala filozofia opiera sie na trzymaniu LPM i tepego parcia do przodu spojrzcei na zachowanie broni pepeszy to jest recoil :) ciekawe jak bedzie z MP44 :)

It will still be 100 times more realistic than cod, and besides that you'll have server options to run this game as realistic as you want.. really there is nothing to complain about.

On top of that we get mod tools.

Never played what? This game? No I haven't, neither has anyone else here.

I have played hundreds of hours of original RO though and I CAN say I do not like the direction this one is going. Reminds me way too much of COD's and BF's. Persistent stats tracking, unlocks, "heroes", recon plane, red dots on the minimap, minimap itself...

So many things point towards "wider audience" which means the old hardcore players who liked the unforgiveness of RO won't like this one.
