  • To williammecham, When you visit the Henrys take plenty of gas. This is deceptive country and the deer (and bison) can be anywhere. We had the best luck riding the roads early and late to see where the bucks were. While we were there. We put at least 50 miles a day on the four wheeler. Once we found the deer we would concentrate on that area by glassing the slopes . We found them on the burn areas south of Mt Ellen and in the sage meadows on the west side above the south end of Capitol Reef.

  • Only the Shadow knows. I've heard that your chances of being struck by lightning are better than your chances of drawing a Henry Mt's permit. That being said, I also know a person that drew out the first year she applied. You never know.

  • Nice bucks. Also, Williameacham, how long did it take you to draw for this hunt? I've never out in for it and was wondering if i started putting in this year if i might draw within the next 10 years.

  • Would you be willing to share the area you were in? You don't have to give up your spot but you'd be helping out a couple of hunters that drew on there this year and don't normally hunt that area.
