Question... how do you actually "remix" it? Like, You have the original song in an MP3 format or whatev and you import (im assuming) the song into Ableton... but how do you actually change the beats, kick, rhythm...etc? Thx!

@PashnPullsTheTrigger Well mostly you download the stems for a song so you get each track (vocal, drums, synth, so on) After that it's pretty much creativity, technique and knowledge.

Say you wanted to remix a song, but only had the MP3 for it... how would you cut it up and change/add diff things? Just a thought, but it would be really cool to see a tut vid on importing an MP3 and showing the basic process of remixing the song.

@PashnPullsTheTrigger Most of the time it's highly influenced electronic music. Like lets say its hard to get stems for jimmy hendrix.(for all i know they could be floating around somewhere). Well if you only got the mp3 for a song it really depends on the track itself. If there is a part playing like only the drums for instance, you could cut those out, loop it and do what you want with it.. Else it's hard. if you're lucky you could EQ them out of the mix or use an filter to filter those freq's

using Ableton Live, you can record MIDI controller automation live, save it, and render to wav.
