  • The applause only stops when Hamelin wants it to.

  • Surely the best performance (in the world) of this piece.

  • Great pianist and great Liszt!!!

  • THIS IS GREAT!!!

  • ...compare this to how the real Hungarians (Cziffra, etc.) do it...they bring the Liszt FORTH, because they think he was a Hungarian...that is, as is well known, a load, but don't worry about it...what Mr. Hamelin does, he makes Liszt damn near disappear, or, at least, he shrinks him a lot...but what we get, "in return" as it were, a lot of HAMELIN, which is an altogether different proposition, but I am not going to bitch about it all that much...

  • The Tom and Jerry cartoon that features this music has been my favourite since I was a little kid. It is so wonderful to hear this great piece of music in full!

  • too much tecnique in your fingers Mr. Hamelin... could you please give me a little bit?

  • M.A.Hamelin made cadenza is so dynamic gentle and tender BRAVO !!!

  • wow the strength in his left hand! Well done Hamelin!

  • Per sua grande fortuna, credo che Hamelin pratichi l'improvvisazione e la composizione, come facevano per un certo periodo anche Vladimir Horowitz e Gyorgy Cziffra. Nella cadenza si sente molto chiaramente !!!! Comunque motlo gradevole all'ascolto !!!

  • Am I the only one that notices that 10:25 to 10:32 sounds remarkably similar to Alkan's "Hands Reunited" Etude op. 76? Listen to the E-flat major section of that etude and tell me I'm wrong.

  • @LongDriveChamp03 Quite possibly true, he's always stealing bits from his hero's music. Sounds similar to me but may just be coincidental

  • @LongDriveChamp03 That is Hamelin's own cadenza, Liszt didn't write it. And I think Hamelin "noticed" it too.. ;)

  • 1,000,000,000 NOTE STREAK!

  • Finally i can see the damn octaves at 480p!

    11:12

  • That is SOOO INSANE!!!!!

  • O_O

  • Oh...my...god!

  • 10:32 he's just taking the piss now

  • Thank you! This is unbelievable!

  • ARRRGH. Everything would've been perfect had it not been for that tiny bit of lag in the beginning...

  • the part from 10:13 to 10:30 can be called "etude after alkan-hamelin" :D

  • Haha! This is what I'm talking about! Finally waiting for a HQ video of this performance.

  • you can almost tell he wanted to laugh after he finished. too funny :D

  • This is the greatest feat of pianistic art ever. The cadenza is such a gift of creativity, effort and achievement. Both the piano and the house should explode upon the last note.

  • The first two notes are lagging!

  • YES YES YES!

  • well uploaded, tompilk!

  • When specifically does his cadenza start? Thanks!

  • @TheManRaptor The cadenza starts at 8:26 and finishes around 11:41.

  • hahaha the Epicness

thiz vid here iz the Shawshank Redemption of allz piano moviez

  • Wooow!!! WooooWW High Quality!! Thaank youu! ;P!! How did you get it??

  • Best quality, and best pianist!

  • Hey wow!

  • Thank you again :D!!!!!!!!!!!! Hamelin is the best!!!!!!!!!!! Somehow I like these concert recordings better than his CD.
