Hope that Cal doesn't sleep on RJ cus he's throwing 3,4 and 5 hook combos (Brennon fight). Roy's body is back to top condition has good footwork and poise and if he can keep up his confidence and speed during the fight he is going to win Cal has the hand speed but he's gotta put power behind them if he gets caught up with Roy showmanship in the ring game over. Left hooks right leads all night(RJ). Lots of punches and pressure all day (Cal) Should be a good fight until someone get's caught.

Both Floyd and Roy has had trouble with southpaws throughout their career. Training for a southpaw is way different because your angles are different and you reach is different. If you don't train for it then you'll have to adjust to it mid fight which is why Roy got caught, Floyd got hit more then usual check the facts homeboys. I am a huge fan of both but I box also. I know what I'm talking about. Tarver ain't the first southpaw to drop Roy.

The more and more I watched this video the more I started to doubt Roy would win. He didn't train to fight Calzaghe, he just trained to make weight. It's what I've been saying in these comments all along. I didn't see him training for a slick southpaw. He wasn't even throwing the right punches in this video.

I agree. I am not a big Calzaghe fan. He was the better man in the ring the other night. He had more heart, and also more pride. It'd be nice if all the US Jones fans who've clearly never watched Calzaghe's fights before would admit that here is a true warrior, with superb skills, fantastic adaptability, great speed and above all, a true fighter's heart who fully deserves his unbeaten record. Who else in this division, or Super Middle, could have beaten the Jones we saw tonight? Credit where credit's due I say.

calzaghe's a great fighter but roy hasnt been tha same since he came down from heavyweight..thats that & calzaghe should retire cuz if guys n thier late 30's n 40's can drop him wit a punch..a young fighter wud KO him easy. so he should retire or keep fightin guys around his age..as far as roy he should retire b4 he ends up like Gerald McClellan..but bottom line calzaghe won. gotta give him his props.

Jones is past his best what ever anyone says ffs, Joe is at the best of his game now but Jones is so good still and now he seems a little more comfortable at LH. Jones is such a great bloke inside and outside the ring and has been a pleasure for the last 15 years

Yeah thats true, Jones is still rapid. People are saying they are both old n not too far off each other in age to justify the fight.
But truth is sportsmen and women peak at different ages and Joe is closer to his prime than Roy is.
Roys prime was when he was around 27-29(10-12 years ago) and Calzaghe when he was 31,32 (4,5 years ago)
Even if Roy fought Joe in his prime, after he had beaten Clinton Woods,Roy still would have won(being 6yrs past it).
The fight will prove Prime Roy> Prime Joe

FYI tpbisdivine roy lost those bouts because he went from heavyweight (220) back to 175 in eight months, he admitted to being drained and not himself, if you box you should know that. I box and I also box for the Army and I know that, i only cut about 10 to 15 pounds he cut more than 30, get it right!!! Obama~

Hope that Cal doesn't sleep on RJ cus he's throwing 3,4 and 5 hook combos (Brennon fight). Roy's body is back to top condition has good footwork and poise and if he can keep up his confidence and speed during the fight he is going to win Cal has the hand speed but he's gotta put power behind them if he gets caught up with Roy showmanship in the ring game over. Left hooks right leads all night(RJ). Lots of punches and pressure all day (Cal) Should be a good fight until someone get's caught.

Both Floyd and Roy has had trouble with southpaws throughout their career. Training for a southpaw is way different because your angles are different and you reach is different. If you don't train for it then you'll have to adjust to it mid fight which is why Roy got caught, Floyd got hit more then usual check the facts homeboys. I am a huge fan of both but I box also. I know what I'm talking about. Tarver ain't the first southpaw to drop Roy.

The more and more I watched this video the more I started to doubt Roy would win. He didn't train to fight Calzaghe, he just trained to make weight. It's what I've been saying in these comments all along. I didn't see him training for a slick southpaw. He wasn't even throwing the right punches in this video.

Make no mistake about it Jones Jr. hits harder than Hopkins does. His handspeed is much faster than Hopkins and Calzaghe's. You will notice the speed difference very early in the fight.

Definitely. This is a difficult fight for Calzaghe. However, RJJ to win he needs to be more active. Calzaghe beat Hopkins because was more aggressive and controlled the fight.

I agree partially. If Jones is going to win a decision he will need to be more active. If he is going to get the KO he can take his time. Calzaghe beat Hopkins because the judges appreciated his slapping flurries that weren't landing, while Hopkins ran out of steam at the midway point of the fight.

I agree. I am not a big Calzaghe fan. He was the better man in the ring the other night. He had more heart, and also more pride. Roy reverted to that Tarver III bullshit where he just tries make 12 rounds and doesn't try to actually win the fight. He really needs to hang them up, I was pissed at his effort. Somebody more deserving like Glen Johnson or Dawson, Hops, could have been getting that chance instead of a Roy Jones who doesn't give 100% and go out on his sword.

Only Calzaghe owes B-Hop the rematch. Jones will just end up getting took on points for 12 rounds. After this weekend's performance, it's clear to see that Roy needs to hang'em up. The fight was boring nonetheless, it should've never been on ppv. With cards like the one they had it's no wonder MMA continues to take their fans away from them, peace.

True, true, but if Roy wanted to squeeze in ONE more fight, the only man he should fight is Hopkins. Their rematch is WAY overdue and Hopkins is also more or less past his prime. Hopkins would win by UD, though.
But I'm sure Hopkins would rather fight Joe. Their first fight was close.

Besides, Hopkins style is based on being technical and awkard whereas Jones' is based on raw speed and power - age takes those away
