  • Boards of Canada are two of my favorite producers ever. Their music never gets old and really means a lot. BOC##$#@#!@#!

  • feel like an angel

  • I don't know why some people think The Campfire Headphase isn't as good as their other work. it's an incredible step in the right direction.

  • this couldn't get any more relaxxxxxxing bro (:

  • Who would dream of a car as shitty as an 84 Pontiac? :P

Seriously though, this song is a wonderful trip.

  • @PureLolz468 Night rider?

  • I have a dildophone too!

  • BoC is the soundtrack for my life.

  • music of the mind

  • incredible .... incredibly incredible

  • 0:27 that sample, whatever it is, is incredible.

  • Haha, and the yellow curtain slowly reveals a Pontiac; I love it.

  • I wanna hear this when Im on meth !

  • Puts me at peace. Play this when I am taking my final breaths.

  • incredible shit, boards of canada

  • so brilliant.

  • man all of BoC's fan made video's are so fucken good. its a synergy between fans and Boc

  • @squalidshake

    sooo right!

Every single video fits excellent to their songs !

without lyrics it is possible to concentrate and CREATE :)

  • @squalidshake

I know, every song I've looked up so far has been great. It's either talented uploaders or the music's inspirational quality.

  • I wonder if future generations will make videos with intentional antiquated production with footage of the 90's-20's which would be retro by then. Pretty hard to imagine that concept pushed forward 30 years. I'm sure they will think of something.

  • @weatherkop Somehow I doubt that. For some reason footage from the 50's-90's is just soo .. Idk, there's just something about them that footage of today doesn't capture.

  • @MisterBankz OnVHS yeah. Bur future music will all be 5.1 and holographic responsive. We are in for a real treat my friend. Then again sound may be transferred to our ears in a totally different manner. Like speed reading a downloaded video file with a psychedelic remix by our own cerebral cortex. It will be like dreaming while we are awake. .

  • @weatherkop O____O

  • @weatherkop There'll probably just be an 'App' that you can eat and it installs in your brain so you can download HD BetaMax SACD tracks until you reach your download limit and then you have to just stop thinking until next month. Bit of a nightmare really.

  • @stephenmitchell2000 Shit, thats called Mtv and McDonalds, nugga.

  • @MisterBankz Also you have to keep in mind Grindhouse filming techniques. Intentional dirt is pretty popular these days. Watch Hobo with a Shotgun.

  • extra points for using Vegas! :) listening to these cats take me back to the 80's for some reason... love BoC

  • big props for making this video which compliments the song so well.

  • Grab the pitchforks! We got one blasphemer!

  • what many people never realised .. BOC sampled huge amounts of sounds from the 70's which you will never hear except in TV shows. reversal of samples, processing through reverb and delay. it was more simplistic, but limited with those effects and sounds, it was more interesting to work with.

  • this is so retro and future at the same time, just amazing

  • fantastically beautiful - vid and music.

  • The best way to get the BoC sound actually is to record a tone to tape, and dub that tape recording onto another tape, dub it back, and do it until it starts sounding worse with each generation. Then take that sound into a keysampler, and write a song.

  • imagine going through space with a flying car. that would be awesome

  • John 3:16

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

  • @hier0phant bullshit. He could create a non-fucked world instead.

  • @hymnofashes Stop making sense!

  • It would be cool if someone could dig up some stock footage from the old 80s american car commercials. I'm pretty confident that I hear them sampling the ending jingles from both Ford and Pontiac in this song.

  • I like this song, because it relaxes me so much! I'd to be, laying on my roof, listening this song meanwhile I look up to the sky, to feel the greatness of the universe. I'm not afraid, I'm excited about the future.

  • One of my favorites this one..

  • why is the barcelona chair everywhere i look?!?!?

  • Great video and editing. Interesting choice of imagery adds an element of nostalgia to this music. Hats off...!

  • Man, I am so impressed by some of these user created BoC videos. I have listened to this song countless times, but it feels fresh all over again.

  • not bad...like the archive stuff

  • Is it just me ? Or does it give everyone else the feeling they want to sail around the world in a yacht for the rest of thieir lives without touching land with this tune playing constantly??? Play it back, close your eyes, you will picture it yourself!...heaven..(and i have never sailed in a yacht!..)

  • @moranio I do think of the ocean when i hear this! Good call!

  • Great Video! I love it and the song is one of my faves!

  • great video

  • Good stuff!!

  • At 0:27 love that cop giving flowers to the driver... awesome ! They need to do that instead of those tickets

  • I used to this BoC was cold an empty but after a while I've found the warmth in it... like being enveloped in the arms of childhood dreams...

  • There is something about this song. Its perfect. The melody, the sound, the atmosphere it creates causes me to reflect on the purest of feelings. This track transcends music and sound...it creates emotional atmospheres.

  • It reminds me of travelling on a plane, awaiting the calm before venturing to see my gf in the states

  • it's the sound of math :) universal language...

  • best outro

  • mies van der rohe ? O_O

  • Where's the 84 trans am????

    Just kidding.

  • Just a thought-- what if you found the original car commercials some of the samples they used in this song came from? I can hear distinctly a jingle ford used for the Taurus commercial circa 1987, and the Pontiac logo jingle.

  • everytime i listen to this track, i get lonely and long for the past, but i cant stop myself from listening

  • :(... you should meet someone new! :)

  • This song is unbelievable. Whenever I hear BoC it feels like if I hadn't heard them a million times, it feels new, abstract and relaxing...

  • BoC are the cream of scotland in my opinion.....stunning, and if you dont like BoC and what they stand for dont comment. Beautiful video by the way very impressive.

  • Is it really possible to not like BoC?

  • @AliasThatIsFake

Yeah, if you aren't in the right frame of mind, or if you aren't paying attention, it can sound like vaguely dischordant ambient noise. Some people are never in the right frame of mind for it.

  • @hymnofashes well said!!!!

  • @hymnofashes THIS. very true.

  • @AliasThatIsFake There are such creatures out there!

  • @AliasThatIsFake

Justin Bieber fans might. i'd imagine they'd be confused and turned off.

  • @AliasThatIsFake not if you're listening

  • nice

  • are we all modern day hippies for being into boc?(that would be a good thing btw!)

  • What are you talking about. I hope people think that you can't appreciate BoC or music like this without "ingesting chemicals". Ugh. Get a brain guys.

  • *I hope people DON'T think

  • UCB

  • why

  • i didnt say anything about ingesting chemicals so please dont prosume. i might have done a bit of pot but i havnt done anything else in my life.

when i refered to hippies i ment people looking for the alternative (politically or musicaly)

  • we're the future hippies

  • wow..good job man. one of the best videos made to BOC Ive seen yet. you really captured it.

  • Says the guy who listens to Linkin Park.

  • lolz

  • This video reminds me of what i symbolize a 'perfect' life. idk might be the shrooms

  • Wicked comment.

  • What an awesome track.

These 2 guys are real geniuses!

    Cool video.

  • 0:27 would never happen in a million years :)

  • Dont forget, its only a 84 pontiac dream :)

  • holyshit... this song lifts me up high above everything. its all so clear.

    also, nostalgia! <3

  • There are many ways to get really warm sounds, like BoC does. They choose to use analog synths and play around with the actual wiring. An easier way is to use a non-destructive DAW and effect a sampled organ and then re-amp it through a tube amp or re-wire through a tube emulator. Then just add some effects to the sound, maybe some reverb, flange, delay etc... Then you add a little white or pink noise to dirty the sound up. Those are just some easy tricks to make sounds sound better.

  • good work

  • this song makes me want to exist so bad. Damm, I wish I could exist.

  • mate you exist otherwise i dont exist

  • these are the good old days

  • does anyone else in here with fl or some other program know where i can get samples of that organ sound they allways have? or create it some how? i want that sound!

  • Their stuff reminds me of royksopp a little.

  • way better than royksopp!! cheers

  • BOC is not for everyone but I really enjoy whatever they put out....it takes me to another place

  • This song/track mesmerizes me....

  • Those images of modern life from another era juxtaposed with this BoC track evoke a feeling of sadness and serve as a haunting reminder of how time itself renders everything obsolete. The 2000s are almost over and it went by so much quicker than the 90s....

  • Hm, well put, but could it also be that BoC also wishes to show that time is cyclical and that nostalgia serves a purpose? Their music itself can prove this, being made of bits of history, rearranged into something new.

Maybe I'm just talking out the side of my neck, but its a thought. To clarify, not arguing, just tossing in my two cents.

    +rating for you sir

  • Very good comment, sir.

This video is beautiul, and the same time, sad and meaningful. One of the best BoC clips I've ever seen. Successful juxtaposition of music and videos. Really.

  • I dont know why but every time I hear this song I immediately think of Mass Effect..... weird

Boards Of Canada are my all time favorite band

  • WOW! I have no idea who this band is but the music is so hypnotizing and relaxing...it opens your mind to the endless boundaries of your own imagination....extraordinary music :D

  • you should check out... all of their music. I don't think any other band has come close to having the kind of effect on me that BoC does.

  • the guitar at the end... gets me every time

  • <3 BoC <3

  • man....this song...wow. That weezying noise at the end has ALWAYS reminded me of a dog i used to have. it sounds just like him when he was wimpering for attention. BOC is seriously...they're so amazing. I love ALL there music. A new album would be nice....but if it was over now, i'd still be thankful for the GREAT music!!!!!

  • paradise !

i love it when nostalgia is brought infront of my eye other than being in a 30 second dream or a feeling..

    <33

  • Amazing and sensitive..

  • Nice job! You really captured the essence of the song IMO

  • My favorite Boards of Canada song.Simply amazing.

  • it makes my body relaxxxxxx......

  • this video is the best thing i have ever seen.

    thanks a million!

  • Pretty awesome homemade video. Definitely in the spirit of Boards of Canada.

  • Nostalgic song, nostalgic video. Two brilliant works of art working in tandem. I love it!

  • A breath of fresh air. Boards of canada - so underrated, but that's how i like it, not enough people can enjoy freedom musically. Just open your mind!

  • You appear to have a great understanding of the footage you are using and what it means.

  • Great work! I like the song, and this video!!

  • really really nice...

very good choice of the clips and editing is cool :)

I've just started to love this song even more, thanks to you :)

  • The downside to having all these great Boards of Canada songs on YouTube is the number of pretentious idiots posting sycophantic comments about the band's superiority on them. Brilliant video, mate.

  • firmgoose, well arent you just the perfect person. the supreme being. go fuck yourself. you fucking sourpuss. murrrrr people arent allowed to post what they wish, they cant do it, because i dont like what they post, so they shouldnt do it, im the best mur mur mur. this is pathetic, your pathetic. dont bother replying.

  • I didn't mean offence to anyone who posted on this particular video, the comments were actually pretty down to earth. My comment was directed at the people who post stuff like "the supreme ethereal intransegence of boc's melodies mocks the infantile reptile brains of pop fans, haw haw haw". I have no problem with people showing admiration for great bands like BoC, it's just the superiority complex appearing in some peoples posts annoy me.

  • I knew what you meant mate.

  • I assume you don't want to read comments such as the ones you are describing.

The line of you tube philosophy, you are espousing, is a strange paradox.

The freedom of speech (to speak your mind freely) vs only if it is the kind of speech that isn't relatively pretentious, sychophantic and generally agreeable to my own tastes even if they have no idea, nor care what those tastes may be....

  • This is a great accompaniment to the song, nice work!

  • it feels like the uniferse is in your mind with this song!!!!!!! =)

  • i like it a lot

  • Cool, good song. But it's called '84 Pontiac Dream and it's from The Campfire Headphase.

  • Wow, you're right!
