There's more 'form' than you may think. It doesn't need to be movie flashy to be effective. There are also rules which limit what the 'player' can do. You must also consider that the fights at the tournament are amateur level. The 2009 video has better material IMHO.

@lesterado haha it certainly looks that way! I mean, when you look at it, all forms of full contact look like kickboxing to some extent. For me? I follow that statement of yours. I'm a chinese pugilist, and I kickbox. I've got strong striking and good use of flying kicks. However, I'll admit, there are others who use applications from different styles that are useful; standing joint locks, takedowns, slams. I wish I had access to learn them. So I am largely... Sanda-style. Respect to all arts!
