hey I followed all of the steps up until I converted the file to m4r and deleted the old one but when I double click on it, the ringtone folder doesn't show up on my iTunes.

@drekone68 Go to CONTROL PANEL - FOLDER OPTIONS - CLICK ON VIEW - SCROLL DOWN AND DISABLED "HIDE EXTENSION FROM KNOWN FILE TYPES.

Then sorry you're out of luck because if you don't have iTunes then you don't have the ringtone option and if you don't have that then you can't do this process.

Because like I said, it will not work with music you purchased from the iTunes store, get your music from LimeWire, Bearshare, etc.

nvm i got it to work. my settings were off so i went to preferences>import settings> then check the dropbox to aac encoder
