  • Why is question, looks scab.

  • @417cameron You obviously don't know anything about Mustangs. This exhaust setup is identical to the way it was done from 1982 until 2004. Therefore it produces a sound similar to fox body and S195 cars. S197 factory or bolt-on exhaust kits do not produce a sound like Mustang enthusiasts know and love. Read the other comments, nothing "scab" about it...

  • where the heck did u get it for $375

  • Hey, man. How is your exhaust setup holding up? Have you had any issues?

  • @tmwtpbrent14 I know you asked this question several months ago but I can say that even now (3+ years since installation) the exhaust system is as good as new. Still turns heads and gets a ton of questions from anyone who hears it.

  • Best sounding flowmaster system I've heard to date on any S197 GT!! They usually have like a hollow/tin sound to them... It's hard to explain. This system sounds deep the way it should sound. Very, very nice man! Thanks for the vid.

  • Wow I am impressed. I hate the way flowmaster axleback sounds on our S197's, but this... this sounds incredible.

  • Nice work, I really wish these came mid mounted from the factory. Tell me, do notice any loss of torque or horsepower with that long h-pipe? How about cabin resonance? Those are located pretty much under the front seats, do you get alot of resonance or vibration inside the car? Would love to hear more clips!

  • did you have the 40 series on as an axleback before you had this done? and if so, can you describe the before and after?

  • We went straight from stock to this setup. I had heard the 40's as axleback but they just didn't sound like a Mustang should. Can't really describe it. It needs that pipe after the muffler and over the axle to resonate properly. I told that to the muffler guy and he said he had an idea and this is what he came up with.

  • Thanks for showing us.

Don't the mufflers shake around some? I would think that they would contact the body or trans crossmember when shaken enough.

  • Actually they don't move at all. They are so close to the H-pipe and everything is welded. It is all very rigid.

  • That is so cool.....they sound so much cleaner mid mounted. How much did that fab cost you if you dont mind me asking? Also the only hanger are the ones at the rear correct? have you had any issues with the setup? You need to go o/r and you will no doubt have the best sounding 3v GT!

  • The price was $375. Parts and labor. Can't beat it. And yes, the only hangers are in the back. The welded pipes hold everything in place and it is very stable. There is still plenty of clearance too. I can't believe Flowmaster hasn't come out with a bolt on kit like this. The guy at the muffler shop came up with the whole design. As far as I know there are 3 S197's including this one that he has done so far.

  • damn thats a good price.....yeah it would make sense for flowmaster or Mac or someone to sell a midpipe/catback mid muffler combo with the chambered mufflers. Those would sell like crazy. Thanks for the info.

  • what series flowmaster do you have on?

  • 40 series

  • AWESOME!!
