  • its just impossible to dislike any of marty's songs even if he wears a pink coat while playing it !!!

  • marty is the best :D

  • Marty is an amazing guitarist, but he doesn't half look like a bellend

  • i guess japan still has good taste in music!!

  • What a beautiful piece of art ...

  • Marty you rocks , you make my days have sense when i listen your music

  • he makes that pink look badass >:)

  • marty freakin rules \m/

  • long comments are VERY boring

  • Marty & Crate BV......

  • @SuperBert1970 im sorry, what was that troll?

  • i super like his album!!

  • Colorful music this is called

  • if he goes to back to megadeth which will never happen (i rather chris stay he fits in better now) well anyways he marty better ditch and burn that sound if he joins mighty megadeth

  • I wish Jeff would go back with megadeth. Marty is better alone.

  • For those of you that have the wet dream of wanting Marty back in Megadeth, bec they were so "awesome" with him, FUCK YOU. YOU FAUX FAN! You are the type of fan who stopped listening/supporting Megadeth. The fan who didn't buy the albums between CTE-Endgame, and then now say how much you want Marty back. Marty played on 3 more albums after you left, but you could have cared less, but now you want him back. Bandwagoners I call you. The type who supports a team only when they win, Fuck U

  • @AlwaysSomething Fans don't owe the artists anything. If the band stops making music you connect with and want to listen to, why would you keep buying it? Does it make you less of a fan for favoring one period of a band's career over another?

  • @brandavies I love the Yankees. I don't love them only when they win, or love just a certain era of the Yankees. Do I like when they win, sure. Do I like certain players better, Yes. If everyone stopped going to games, what do you think would happen to the Yankees? If they didn't make money, what would happen? Real fans want to see what they like stay around so they support them by spending money. Yes, there are people who only like the Yankees when they win, that's not a fan.

  • @AlwaysSomething I kind of see the point, but I kind of don't. Sports is not art, so it doesn't really make that great of a metaphor. Sports is all about competition, anyway. Why does anybody support -any- sports team? Other than to support a particular region, I have no idea. A band, on the other hand, will always have fans as long as they make music people can connect with. There will always be fly-by-night fans who stop liking a band when their music stops charting, but the point stands

  • My point in the intial comment was, if you are a fan of a band, you follow their career sometimes through the rough patches, but you still go see shows, buy merch although you only like the first three albums lets say. If you are supporting a band based off the era you liked, then you are a fan, just of an era, but still a fan. If you don't like any records passed 95 lets say, and you stop buying anything from them, then you WERE a fan. You do owe a band support when they make music you like.

  • Look, I fucking love Marty and what he contributed in his time with Megadeth. Most of you fake fans have no idea what he's done bec you stopped listening after CTE/Youth era. Chris B. is not better or worse, he's just different. So tired of people saying he doesn't have as much feeling as Marty. Marty had ten years to write in Megadeth, there's bound to be some incredible solos. Sad isn't the only feeling that exists, Yes Marty provokes emotions, but so does Chris, they are just different.

  • i love that look Marty gives at the end its like::: Yah thats right, i just mind fucked you with my amazing guitar skills

  • weaasome video man

  • just one word... perfect

  • at least Japan has realistic TV idols. What do we have? American Idol...HA

  • @futureproofd u rite dude at least japan have more realistic tv idol like marty reality tv'rock fujiyama'..

  • Goodbye serious metal guitarist, hello Japan's new game show idol.

  • i think the country called JAPANESE

they like to listen HEAVY METAL

because i see many metal band go there

    .....I'm I RIGHT ???

  • @norranun the country isnt called JAPANESE, the country is called JAPAN

  • The Brian May influence is HUGE! \m/_

  • JUST AWESOME FEELING...

  • Wow. I almost cried after listening to this song...

Lust For Life is a farewell song to his old life.

    5/5

  • silverx: it's a farewell song to his old life? Can u give some more details?

  • @atrickpay11

Well, I don't know anything much about him. However I watched his guitar performances here in youtube, like this video you posted. Out of all the songs I watched, Lust For Life is more soulful which I listened to over and over again until now. This song,Lust For Life, as a farewell to his old life is just my own opinion.rofl!

  • silverx: lol, ok thx for reply.

  • @Silverxpanther yeah this song i think as a farewell to his old life at the time he in megadeth..no more speed metal or metal..his getting old and he think he should slow down his music to more melody and catchy and fun..he enjoy his life now..

  • @atrickpay11 if u really marty fan..u know the details...

  • @atrickpay11 if u really marty fan..u know the details...

  • what a wonderful song..i love his latest music diffrent like old stuff..and love his japanese fashion too...and i still working to picking like him

  • Epic.

  • i love this song it sooths my soul when im stressed out and relaxes me when im in a good mood, i love it THANK YOU MARTY FOR WRITING JUSH AN AMAZING SONG

  • hoang1428 your an idiot with no ear

  • i love his paint job on that guitar

  • Fucking awesome \m/ he can really make the old six string twanger speak!

  • Fuck every guitar company ever.

Now go play what you want.

  • He plays stuff like Journey , Toto-ish now

  • He's Steve Lukather's friend. hahaha

  • Can you upload the rest of this video please? I love the part were he plays the Misora Hibari melody on the guitar. Can't find the video on youtube now.

  • man i wish marty would go back to megadeth.

  • @milkenkookies

i wish not..and im sure now marty happy in japan play jpop..

  • @milkenkookies i disagree, he is way better now like in megadeth the sound was changing so much and marty wasn't playing what he really wanted. now u get to listen to marty be a awesome fucking solo guitarist and u have megadeth with chris, and chris is fucking great. no where near as soulful but he sure can shred

  • @MetalFee666 well, when marty was in megadeth that was what he wanted. And in Megadeth, he created some of the most remarkable songs in metal history. His solo stuff is awesome, but theres other solo stuff very similar to it. there is nothing like hangar 18. theres nothing like tornado of souls. theres nothing like holy wars.

  • @milkenkookies yea thats true

  • @milkenkookies theres nothing like rust in peace \m/

  • Comment removed

  • @milkenkookies man i wish jason gets better and then have a Cacophony re-union.

  • @milkenkookies every one dude.. EVERYONE! :(

  • @milkenkookies go back to megadeth so he cant play his true colors? The reason marty left from megadebt was because he couldnt play what he wanted. I cant believe your comment got thumbs up!

  • @milkenkookies I Hate to say this but David let the best part of Megadeth walk away the day he let Marty go !!and I Love the man dearly after all he is flesh and blood !!! I have hoped for this for along time but I dont see it ever happening so if he reads this come on Uncle Dave wake up smell the coffee!!!

  • lol, im not too fond of a pink jacket either

  • Very good but i really like lovesorrow...

  • damn, i thought he was going to rip into iggy pop's version...

  • Marty looked better with his Jackson...too bad hes a japanaholic and is in love with japanese culture...maybe thats why he went over to ibanez?

  • whatever guitar he's using is the same.. its the pick-up that matters and the wood.. and the player.. and how he play it. imo. peace

  • I wasnt really reffering to the sound...his ibanez sounds just fine to me..but i mean in terms of looks his jackson suited him better in my opinion

  • he's with PRS now

  • @aces519 yeah well... that so explains why he'd change to a spannish brand, doesnt it? xD

  • Ibanez is way ahead of jackson, its exellent japanese craftmanship... its just like japanase cars are better than crappy american cars..

  • youre trying to tell me a fucking toyota would best a 1965 fastback mustang...Dude american muscle cars aren't necessarily known for their long life spans like japanese cars but they get much more points for overall coolness. Plus you dont see 16 year old tricking them out with stickers and big gaudy wings and blue lights n shit on the old classics, fuckin it up making it look like a rice mobile.

  • What about Jackson guitars (middle range) Pro Series and MG Series? All made in Japan! And 10 times better than any Ibanez I played and was made in Japan. Or Jackson Stars (the Japan line of guitars)? Almost even better than the U.S.A Line!

  • Yeah but guys Jackson Guitars are coming back! I never gave away my loyalty to jacksons.. and jacksons are the ultimate guitars for me! Ibanez sucks in my opinion!

  • They're really both good in their own right to me... I mean, Satch uses Ibanez, but Randy pioneered Jackson. Obviously both must be doing something right. New up and coming though is Schecter. They have some good stuff too.

  • jacksons are easily the colest and bst to play guitas ever :P there so awesome :D

  • Hell fuckin' yeah they are! I own a RR3, which is a middle range guitar and it is superb. Now I'm getting a RR24 or SL2H.. and these guitars.. are just meant to be :D

  • fuck better than anything fender :D

  • haha, I HATE strats, they are good guitars by design..but that fucking thin clucking chicken sound they make pisses me off. Only fender guitar I like are telecasters, but I firmly stand by my Gibsons no matter what

  • yeah im the same here. i want to get new guitar some time in next 2 weeks but cant dicide jacksonn rr 5 fr or esp lespaul i have already jackson king V

  • Buy Jackson RR5FR! :D

  • get the les paul..because in the end, you're gonna wish you had one, trust me...its one of those guitars you'll find you cannot do without. Plus, there aren't any crazy designs and mucky muck..just a classy axe with a big fat sound.

  • Ibanez suck

Your just not good enough to play them;(

  • fender bought jackson??? WTF....

    anyway awesome song damn!!!

  • he stopped using jackson when Fender bought jackson and alot of their artists including Friedman lost their sponsorships, so he moved on to Ibanez .

  • his ibanez definitley sounds so much better.

    its not as squeaky!

  • What the hell happened to his Jackson?!?!?!?!?

  • fuck jackson if you play a gibson you'll never go back.

  • Fuck Gibson dude they suck compared to Jackson

  • This is really beautifull song, it gives me so much hope in this cruel and dark world, Lust For Life...

  • he can play all stuff, he just love and play music with god damn good...

  • just watch him playing

    he love it!!

  • wearing a pink jacket dont make him gay

the way he love music is admirable

  • Not that good at all...still dated around 88

    jacket around 86..

  • we need to experience all eras. for those born out of the era need greats such as friedman to give us that experience.

  • MARTY, WHAT HAPPENED TO THE TORNADO OF SOULS!!! THROW THAT JACKET IN THE TORNADO! IT BELONGS IN HANGAR 18! IT MIGHT JUST START A HOLY WARS!!!!!!!!! HAHAHA xD i crack me up

  • u suck man, instead of looking at the color of his jacket, listen to the beautiful and perfect music he's playing.

Marty plays all kind of stuff, if you wanna hear the metal side of him go for the "Loud Speaker" album

  • hahaha i agree that was awesome i was only kidding i just think that the jacket does suck but yea ur right it is beautiful lol

  • If anyone hates this and thinks all the music he's created is like this since he left megadeth listen to "Dragons kiss"

    Thats awesome.

  • God what happened to him...... This makes me want to shoot myself...

  • the audio is not synchronized with the video just look at when the woman talks at the beginning

  • IM DOWN WITH THE PINK JACKET!!

  • Holy crap! He never would have had a chance to quit Megadeth if he had gone onstage in that jacket! Dave would have punched him in the throat and thrown him offstage! Don't get me wrong. Marty and Dave are my two favorites of all time, but with Marty wanting to do what he wanted to do, it's better for Megadeth that he did leave. Their last 3 albums prove that. (Risk vs. United Abominations?) Best of luck to him. I just hope he ditches that jacket. There's really no excuse for it.

  • r we sure this isnt prince? and is he wearing platform shoes?! lol

apparently he left megadeth because he wanted to do more types of music, exploring pop and nu metal. he didnt think megadeth was doing pop very well (risk) he just got bored with the old skool rock they were playing. he had side projects but not enough time for them. i can understand him, needing more inspiration.. hes an amazing musician. i wish he hadnt left though, there are some amazing songs megadeth owes to martys talent

  • This is boring. When Marty was by Hawaii, Cacophony and Megadeth he rocks more!!!

  • theres a part that sounds like elton johns goodbye yellowbrick road...

  • it is not playback, the audio is not well syncronized with the video, look starting from 2:35 you can listen to guitar slides, and in the original song you dodnt listen to that, and the original song its a bit diferent

  • When he performs solo he uses a baclup track. In this case the track contains a guitar doing harmonies. He IS playing but not the same notes you hear on the track.

  • he fucking rocked that jacket :P

  • Is that japanese chick actually speaking there? Or is a translator speaking over her video?

  • no, the translation tape wouldn't perfectly match the lips would they?

  • IMPRESIONANTE MARTY FRIEDMAN

  • And thanks for posting this song. It's amazing!

  • Marty knows how to make good music

  • she said "he came with no guitars" Did marty sold his guitars? Did he sold he's fucking amazing Kelly? omg if he did he's very wrong :'(

  • this is around 1999 he flew to japan to see how was Japan and if he would stay there and live :B

He travelled with no guitarrrrr :B

  • No this is around the release of Music For Speeding (2003)

  • Im answering user paletajamon , read better next time ;)

  • My bad Lever XD

  • i love marty

  • good song!

    feeling through...

    pd: nice jacket! jajajaaja

  • nice song. marty is probably one of the best guitarists when it comes to mixing technique with phrasing. he is probably one of the most unique and open-minded artists of our time but lets face it...he should never wear the pink jacket and silver undershirt under any circumstances. no matter how you look at it, it doesn't suit him one bit. seeng that is like seeing joe satriani in a japanese school girl outfit (which he hopefully won't wear).

  • OMG Satch in college girl outfit. I just died after reading that one lol.

  • his bends are so powerfull, i love them realy amazing

  • they sure are powerful bends!!! I read this from UG site, Marty talking about other guitarist

"None of those guys hit the guitar as hard as I do and its not just a matter of hitting hard; its a matter of that conviction to play something that forceful at this time and that gentle at this time and that sweet at this time and that dirty at this time."

  • what a hot correspondent!!! my goodness. but a great song too lol!

  • probably gay...but very good

  • bayard32: He's not gay. Lol.

  • He's not gay, he's married to a Japanese chick

  • was, now he is divorced

  • How beautiful is the oriental scale!

  • scale? How about the correspondant?

  • from the soul!

  • I love this song!!!

  • Buon brano di Marty Friedman.

  • As jason becker said, marty thought him everything, thus proving marty to be a genius aswell as becker, so many people seem to know him only for his work with megadeth its a crime because cacophony and his solo albums show what marty really is..

  • Exactly, becker was awesome technically, one of the best. but he wasnt good at writing music, marty helped him alot on that. Id rather listen to marty than becker. He has better songs than this though... forbidden city's better than this.

  • Well you cant really say that he sucked at writing music. I mean, he DID write a successful ballet using a computer and his mouth muscle. Both great musicians, but i'd just have to go for Becker over friedman just by a hair, because Marty kindv a douchebag

  • stop comparasing guitarists. SPECIALY Marty Friedman and Jason Becker. Its so puking, to hear people talk about the same shit over and over, year after year. In the end its "i like that one better" stop the "whos better" grab a guitar and start play, before judging any of the legends

  • I hear that.

  • well i do, not that that would effect my judging in any manner. Sure people will compare, everyone does, people always will, people still judge Hendrix and SRV and people will always judge Hendrix and SRV. And alot of them are obvious "whos better?"s. thats nature man.

  • the judges is always the ones that suck playing themselves

  • not persay, Zakk Wylde judges, for christs's sake man, EVERYONE does it! whether its in your head or in a comment, you cant help but compare. its nature, we compare everything. our wives to the lady on the street, this book from that.

  • in this case listen mate! and just try to understand what i mean now. Saying that jason becker as an example is a better guitarist than marty friedman, states nothing other than you having a personal taste and meaning. And people as i see it tend to forget that personal taste not nessecary especially in this situation, proves wich one is the better one. What other people do, is not nessecary the way my friend. Havent you ever been taught that

  • Ah, i had failed to see your point in this. What i thought you were stating is that people shouldnt form an opinion of who they think is better, whereas i think youre really saying that opinions arent facts. Miscommunication; i agree with you.

  • Good player, but needs to man that suit up a bit.

  • I think worrying about his clothing might be (ironically) stereotypically unmanly.

  • This deserves far more views

  • Nothing you can say, just a total eclipse of the heart.

Not exactly, but I heard some deffinate rip offs of plenty of songs in this piece. I love Marty Friedman's guitar playing, but this just sounded like a bunch of top ballad chunks put together into one song. Plus no ridiculous sweep arpeggios.

  • at 2m57 to 3m20 = awesome live change. specially the bend at 3m13,, just perfect.

  • i love this song, i post my cover in video response.

  • the opening sounds too close to "making love out of nothing at all" by air supply.

but the rest of it is brilliant

  • the only dude who can make a crate sound that good

  • one of the most beautiful instrumentals ive ever heard... martys brilliance is truly amazing.

  • ete bien webon no? esta cancion es preciosa...

  • He wears the strangest jackets these days sometimes he looks like Michael Jackson lol

  • He's darker than Michael Jackson...

  • lol Agreeee

  • yea and i bet ur name aint on that list sucka...

  • Good song, bad fashion sense.

  • Dude, I love ya, Marty... Get rid of the Pink Jacket.

  • Awesome..

  • ke le paso,demonios

  • I once saw the whole video where he also played a famous japanese melody on guitar. What happened to it?

  • pink jacket.. what the hell happened?

  • I've seen this before..and it amazes me all the time..the phrasing / the touch and sense of melody..

Absolutely brilliant! Marty is a musical genius...and this track almost bring tears to my eyes...I can listen to his compositions every day.
