Good lord. I just saw the Hamill fight yet again and it was a travesty. It was the kind of decision that makes you question the validity of MMA and makes the fight fix question fester. What really disgusted me was Bisping saying "Go back to wrestling" and not even acknowledging that he was probably beaten. Meanwhile, Hamill was absurdly gracious and classy. Boy I hate Bisping.

I was interest to hear your comments about the Bisping / Rashad fight as that was also very close decision but you say it was boring and that's it. Bisping/Hammil was not a close fight. Matt Dominated RD 1, outstruck Bisping and got takedowns in RD 2, RD 3 was somewhat close but Matt still got takedowns and landed punches. Maybe that RD is a draw but he easily won 2 rds in the fight. Bisping lost and he knows it.
You called it. Bisping makes a big deal of winning his weight class for the Ultimate Fighter 3. But who has he ever beaten? I'd like to see him fight vs. sluggers like H. Alexander or T. Silva rather than wrestlers like M. Hammill or R. Evans, who rarely finish fights.
that rampage/hendo fight was very very close. the first time i watched the fight i thought rampage dominated but i just watched it again and i give hendo the first two rounds, rampage 3rd and 4th. the last round in my opinion was the fight, it could have gone either way. anyone feel the same?
Totally agree. It was definitely close, except I gave the 1st and 3rd to Hendo. This was the first time I saw either fighter in action and was very impressed by both. But had the fight gone ten seconds longer, Hendo would've been beaten to sleep.
Hamill rarely connected with his punches and was countered almost every time he tried, and his takedown attempts were thwarted and when he did succeed Bisping dealt by either outworking him from the bottom or just standing right up. Matt couldn't keep him down couldn't improve position and only landed what looked like very wimpy and occasional "hammer-fists" while Michael worked submission attempts and kept him on the defensive.

Just compare the UFC 76 comments of Thiago Silva (re H. Alexander) and Micheal Bisping (re M. Hammill). Silva made respectful comments about his opponent's personal accomplishments. What did Bisping have to say? "I won the fight. The referees said I won the fight. . ." Why doesn't he have the class to admit what Rashad Evans states, who though Bisping lost his last fight. "I thought M. Hammill came out and fought a hell of a fight." THESE ARE RASHAD'S WORDS, Bisbing doesn't have enough class.
Mike Bisping is weak, Matt Hamill has a good fight coming up against Bonnar if I am not mistaken. It is unfortunate that the UFC rewarded Bisping for the referees horrendous decision.
Matt had him in the 1st round but he was done in the 2nd and 3rd. His striking and especially his wrestling were almost completely ineffective at that point.
brodssn, I had the same exact expectations and hopes that you did about Bisping coming into this fight and by the end was left sorely disappointed, especially by the lack of class and sportsmanship shown by Bisping at the end. But I SINCERELY don't see where Hamill won past the second round. I'll explain my thinking in the next post.

I don't get how people see Hamill winning that fight. He won the first round. That's it. Afterwards, the only time he could land a decent punch was in that headlock. He just threw jab after jab, only to get sidestepped and countered every time. He made a BUNCH of takedown attempts and when Hamill did get him down, Bisping either outworked him from the bottom or just popped right back up. Even the referee thought Bisping won.

i was at the fight and being an englishmen i guess im supposed to back bisping! from where i was sitting in the arena it looked like hamill won the fight! when i got back home i watched the fight and still thought hamill should have got the decision but it was not as 1 sided as alot of people are saying! it was a close fight not an easy one to judge. i hope the rematch in in the states so if bisping wins then there would be no bullshit surrounding it!
if u knew anything about mma hamill had more take downs but bisping did more damage to him when hamill was on top. bisping did have a cut but landed more blows and won it fair and square, they are professional judges, you are not. suck it up

It was a dominating performance by Hamill I thought he won the first round and Bisping almost got KO then he dominated the second round I think the third round was really close I can give it to Bisping 29-28 Hamill won a unanimous decision but he got robbed.

Just to set the record straight, I am British and I support Bisping and of course I wanted him to win that fight. But as a passionate supporter of fair play and real sport I have no hesitation in saying that Bisping LOST that fight. Hamill totally dominated the first round but took his foot off the gas for the rest. However, he still did way more than Bisping. It was a bit of a joke. They should rematch, and Hammil would win (again).

Get your facts straight, Mirko had been backing up in a lot of his fights and that didn't keep him from winning or beating his opponents, Fedor's case doesn't make it a fact, and against Hunt he was injured. I agree. bisping is put in situations where he doesnt fight "finishing fighters". Lack luster performances ..give him shogun or houston..but i am very impressed with houston aleksander. he has 2 fights 2 beautiful finishes..and is a force to be reckoned with. Hi Viciussid, I just watched the Bisping-Hamill fight; and I think it's fair to say that Hamill was on the end of a pretty rough decision. If things like this happen again, people are going to turn away from MMA for the exact same reasons people have turned away from boxing, very sad and damaging for the sport.
Hamill dominated Bisping...i mean seriously it wasnt even close.You could have arguably given the win to Dan Henderon in the main event because that fight was so much closer then the Hamill/Bisping fight.I agree though Henderson should drop to 185 and take the belt from Anderson Silva...he has the wrestling strength to beat Silva no doubt.

we were at UFC75 Bisping would have knocked Hamill out if fight had gone any further. He did enough to get the verdict, his tactics weren't great but he's learning. Also his comments are based on fact that Hamill has constanly showed no respect whatsover to him.

none of the judges gave all three to bisbing, it was one judge that gave all three to hamill! he did lose the first, but i think the second was very close n i actually jus gave it to bisbing then the third was a definate round to bisbing in my opinion, and the other 2 judges saw it the same as me! i know he was taking him down a lot but bisbing got back up every time with no damage taken and then started to out box him! round 1 hammil, rond too very close to call, round three bisbing!

I was wondering why, when MMA's popularity is on the rise, that they would just give away a PPV. Now we know. This was an absolutely horrible card, with the only good match ending in a highly controversial decision. Henderson/rampage slowed down to a slug's pace after round one, and crocop was just embarrasing.

Congrats Rampage! That was a great fight. I was'nt that shocked he won the stand up, it was on the ground where he really showed his improvements. This team he has surrounded himself w/ has taken him to the next level. I really thought Dan was going to destroy him. Aside from that, how big a tool is Michael Bisping? Overall a solid review. My only disagreements is a that Cro Cop is done. He's just trying to collect his UFC money for these 4 fights, then he's retiring. I also was more appalled by the egregiousness of the Jackson/Henderson decision. Henderson won at least the first 3 rounds, if not 4/5.
it's a shame what happened to hamill. all 20 of the people (casual and hardcore) watching it with me were a little more than pissed. I was stewing about it well into the Rampage Hendo fight.

Completely agree jaylaynes, if you watch it again the fight is closer than some of the comments around at the moment. Bisping could have looked better but Hamill (slightly clunky but nevertheless improved stand-up aside) didn't do a damn thing on the ground. The "go back to wrestling" comment was cheap though.

You called it. Bisping makes a big deal of winning his weight class for the Ultimate Fighter 3. But who has he ever beaten? I'd like to see him fight vs. sluggers like H. Alexander or T. Silva rather than wrestlers like M. Hammill or R. Evans, who rarely finish fights.

that rampage/hendo fight was very very close. the first time i watched the fight i thought rampage dominated but i just watched it again and i give hendo the first two rounds, rampage 3rd and 4th. the last round in my opinion was the fight, it could have gone either way. anyone feel the same?

Totally agree. It was definitely close, except I gave the 1st and 3rd to Hendo. This was the first time I saw either fighter in action and was very impressed by both. But had the fight gone ten seconds longer, Hendo would've been beaten to sleep.

Hamill rarely connected with his punches and was countered almost every time he tried, and his takedown attempts were thwarted and when he did succeed Bisping dealt by either outworking him from the bottom or just standing right up. Matt couldn't keep him down couldn't improve position and only landed what looked like very wimpy and occasional "hammer-fists" while Michael worked submission attempts and kept him on the defensive.

Just compare the UFC 76 comments of Thiago Silva (re H. Alexander) and Micheal Bisping (re M. Hammill). Silva made respectful comments about his opponent's personal accomplishments. What did Bisping have to say? "I won the fight. The referees said I won the fight. . ." Why doesn't he have the class to admit what Rashad Evans states, who though Bisping lost his last fight. "I thought M. Hammill came out and fought a hell of a fight." THESE ARE RASHAD'S WORDS, Bisbing doesn't have enough class.

Mike Bisping is weak, Matt Hamill has a good fight coming up against Bonnar if I am not mistaken. It is unfortunate that the UFC rewarded Bisping for the referees horrendous decision.

Matt had him in the 1st round but he was done in the 2nd and 3rd. His striking and especially his wrestling were almost completely ineffective at that point.

brodssn, I had the same exact expectations and hopes that you did about Bisping coming into this fight and by the end was left sorely disappointed, especially by the lack of class and sportsmanship shown by Bisping at the end. But I SINCERELY don't see where Hamill won past the second round. I'll explain my thinking in the next post.

I don't get how people see Hamill winning that fight. He won the first round. That's it. Afterwards, the only time he could land a decent punch was in that headlock. He just threw jab after jab, only to get sidestepped and countered every time. He made a BUNCH of takedown attempts and when Hamill did get him down, Bisping either outworked him from the bottom or just popped right back up. Even the referee thought Bisping won.

i was at the fight and being an englishmen i guess im supposed to back bisping! from where i was sitting in the arena it looked like hamill won the fight! when i got back home i watched the fight and still thought hamill should have got the decision but it was not as 1 sided as alot of people are saying! it was a close fight not an easy one to judge. i hope the rematch in in the states so if bisping wins then there would be no bullshit surrounding it!

My original post was regarding the petition about the decision and that being this is bad sportmanship. Fight in most peoples opinions was close so fight wasn't onesided - I was actually there!!! Petition is silly and stupid plus Bispings comments were not that bad so can't understand why he has become public enemy number 1. Just to set the record straight, I am British and I support Bisping and of course I wanted him to win that fight. But as a passionate supporter of fair play and real sport I have no hesitation in saying that Bisping LOST that fight. Hamill totally dominated the first round but took his foot off the gas for the rest. However, he still did way more than Bisping. It was a bit of a joke. They should rematch, and Hammil would win (again).

striking, grappling, agression and octagon controle are hwta score fights four diferent aspects not just grappling and striking. is you watch the fight hamill was the agressor he won round 1 hands down and lost the striking outside the clinch to bisping but in the clinch he often got bisping inot a headlock. and he had controle of the cage. it was his fight should have been an upset man. thats how the rules go. the judges were paid off bro honestly

What the fuck? Everytime Mirko backs up he loses? Get your facts straight, Mirko had been backing up in a lot of his fights and that didn't keep him from winning or beating his opponents, Fedor's case doesn't make it a fact, and against Hunt he was injured. Mirko isn't himself these days, the numerous illegal shots from Kongo didn't help either, I would like to see Mirko's boxing back because he hasn't shown any boxing in his recent fights and that's what made him so good, not just his kicks.

houston aleks. really stood out too me as an explosive individual...he has that kevin randelman explosiveness..however seems to be devastating. I agree. bisping is put in situations where he doesnt fight "finishing fighters". Lack luster performances ..give him shogun or houston..but i am very impressed with houston aleksander. he has 2 fights 2 beautiful finishes..and is a force to be reckoned with. Dont know about his ground game but he is dangerous dude standing

Hamill dominated Bisping...i mean seriously it wasnt even close.You could have arguably given the win to Dan Henderon in the main event because that fight was so much closer then the Hamill/Bisping fight.I agree though Henderson should drop to 185 and take the belt from Anderson Silva...he has the wrestling strength to beat Silva no doubt.

none of the judges gave all three to bisbing, it was one judge that gave all three to hamill! he did lose the first, but i think the second was very close n i actually jus gave it to bisbing then the third was a definate round to bisbing in my opinion, and the other 2 judges saw it the same as me! i know he was taking him down a lot but bisbing got back up every time with no damage taken and then started to out box him! round 1 hammil, rond too very close to call, round three bisbing!

Hamill was robbed so bad it isn't even funny. I mean why watch MMA when you can watch professional wrestling...predetermined results in both apparently, but WWE has much more drama and 100x more hot women. Definetly disappointed in the UFC and the Bisping/Hamill results.

I was wondering why, when MMA's popularity is on the rise, that they would just give away a PPV. Now we know. This was an absolutely horrible card, with the only good match ending in a highly controversial decision. Henderson/rampage slowed down to a slug's pace after round one, and crocop was just embarrasing.

No doubt Hamill won, he didnt really dominate but he did much better than the Bisbane. Bisbane was given the decision because he is from the UK and thats where the fight was held. I probably wont watch the UFC anymore because the decisions are becoming more like boxing.

White doesn't judge the fights man. He should unofficialy change the winner to Hamill though but that ain't gonna happen. There needs to be an immediate rematch before Bisping fights any other cupcake filler fighters to further is meaningless perfect record.

Bispin didn't do shit, the only reason he kept getting up is because Hamill LET him get up to show that he could beat him in his own world.

UFC 75:
-Cro Cop lost and that sucks... his style I guess is way better for a Ring (seriously id like to see ufc fighrers in pride ring and rules... it changes a lot.).
-Hamill got totally robbed. fucking Dana White probably told the judges to give him the win if he was still standing up in the end. That decidion was TOTAL BS!

i agree with you on crocop and in pride when he would back up he had the ropes to back him up, he would usually back up counter punch and not worry, now with the cage he can't bounce off and just gets stuck on the fence, and yea thats bullshit hamill was robbed badly...bad bad ufc event

Yeah your comment about english boxers is probably accurate but Dana White always said the UFC would be conducted with more class than boxing. They are just desperate to have an english fighter to market in the U.K. It's too bad they are going about it in this way. Like i said in another post, Bisping will now have to face stiffer competition and the UFC won't be able to protect him when he gets KO'd

Congrats Rampage! That was a great fight. I was'nt that shocked he won the stand up, it was on the ground where he really showed his improvements. This team he has surrounded himself w/ has taken him to the next level. I really thought Dan was going to destroy him. Aside from that, how big a tool is Michael Bisping? He got his ass whipped and acted like he knocked Hamill out in the 1st round.

Great review, Sid! Hendo fought well but it was apparent that he was out of his natural weight class. Hamil was definitely robbed. Cro-cop seriously needs to get it together. Anyone who uses Duran Duran for their entrance music - you know their gonna get their asses handed to them.

OK if Rampage beat Henderson on feet how do expect him to destroy Anderson Silva? Im not a huge fan of the Brazillian but I respect his ability and Im sorry guys but he stays on the feet for more than 5 min Hendo is gettin seriously TKO'd. That is if Franklin doesn't get the upset.

The irony is, the judge that scored it 30-27 was the only British judge on that show. Cecil People did jusge it 29-28 Bisping.

Overall a solid review. My only disagreements is a that Cro Cop is done. He's just trying to collect his UFC money for these 4 fights, then he's retiring. I also was more appalled by the egregiousness of the Jackson/Henderson decision. Henderson won at least the first 3 rounds, if not 4/5.

I totally agree with the Bisping and Hammil fight, I also feel bad if anybody fights Dan Henderson. I feel like also the fighters that like to use their legs like Cro Crop, doesn't do as well in the UFC, what is everybody else opinion

Completely agree jaylaynes, if you watch it again the fight is closer than some of the comments around at the moment. Bisping could have looked better but Hamill (slightly clunky but nevertheless improved stand-up aside) didn't do a damn thing on the ground. The "go back to wrestling" comment was cheap though.

all hammill did was do a few take downs..bisping had control and threw more punches on the ground and in the stand up..bisping out punch hammill.hammill admitted that bisping won the fight.
