  • The rich only agrees that employer VS employee relations/ Concentration camp Boss VS slaves exist as long as possible

  • hey lets agree that these lyrics should be heard and read and there's enough room on this planet for two versions or more of a song about correcting injustices. we can agree on this much yes?

  • The spirit of Revolution... you feel it? Do Ya?????

  • And now we might be at the very brink of WW3 =\

  • A VISIONARY FOR SURE.

  • Rage took a fantastisc and brilliant Springsteen song and turned it in to shit! I like it when Tom Morello, a fantastic guitarplayer b-t-w, plays it with the Boss him self, but this shit? Terrible!

    Sounds like crap.

    My opinion.

slighelliam: listen to the original version, and you get message...

  • @etikkboksen i respect that in my opinion i like this version it fits

  • @etikkboksen I'll have to disagree with you there. I love Springsteen, and this is one of his greatest songs. But part of the message of this song is the ANGER, the DISGUST at TPTB. And that comes through FAR clearer in the Rage version. Zach's palpable anger as he sings this is very very important, very very emotional, IMO.

  • @etikkboksen link me to the original version please?

  • @etikkboksen I get the message just fine with the RATM version. If anything, the message is more clear. Music like this isn't for everyone I suppose :)

p.s. have you heard the album version?

  • what a perfect valuation of metal and funk!

  • una de las pocas bandas de los 90's q sera recordada por muchos anos

  • i dont understand the message of this song, someone enlighten me please?

  • Love how Zack is just completely in his own world!

  • This song is quite worrying with the message it gives.

  • @ireternalexistence I don't see what's so worrying about it. Unless you have money this is exactly what is on peoples minds, but no way to find the words. And sorry to you Boss fans, but the song just doesn't make my blood boil when he sings it.

  • Totally cool how they sent the demo to Springsteen and he approved. Gotta say though, best version is where Bruce has him play with his band at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame concert. The guitar solo is mind blowing like Hendrix and Van Halen.

  • Here is a band so damn good they manage to sound even better in concert than on a record.

  • bruce springsteen actually sings the lyrics.

  • And By the way for those who don't read- Tom Joad is the main character in The Grapes of Wrath.

  • RATM Y U NO GET BACK TOGETHER??!?!!?

  • @Brzi993 they've been playing together since 2007, dude...

  • I've never seen a man describe his disgust in a way that Zack does. May God bless the Rage that is Against our Machine.

"NO JOB, NO HOME, NO PEACE, NO REST..."

  • Damn straight

  • I need Audioslave back as well

  • Will never see a band with that much talent ever again

  • RATM IS DA BEST #FACT

  • Whoah!,,,,,That! is the real shit ya'll, This band plays with conviction.

  • @jonathondudkowski lol. Got me there. Ahh, to be a retard. I'll shut up now =P.

  • Remember: this is a Bruce Springsteen original. RATM did not write it. They only made it louder, angrier and better.

  • Lifetime fan right here...I was a 12 y.o fan in '92 and dammit we are STILL in a room without a view!

  • bruce springsteen wrote this

  • roflmao.

  • NO job, No home, No peace NO REST!!!

  • the Emotion of Zack is so real... that is soul to music....

  • Welcome to the New World Order!!! Welcome to Lady Gaga!!! oooooo Burn!!!!

  • Tom GODrello

  • When I listen to Rage it makes me want to charge hell with a squirt gun.

  • what the fuck happened to the 21 century?!

  • @greendayforever getting ready for 2 more world wars I guess....

  • @DarkTuga96 well i wouldnt be surprised :P

  • zack de la rocha let me tell you that ure an amazing human ..thanks for ur music and massage ...god bless you

  • @IgnacioYana You got a massage from him??

  • @IgnacioYana i like his singing but are his massages really that nice? lol

  • @IgnacioYana another wannabe che dicksucker...

  • @IgnacioYana his massage is that good?

  • @IgnacioYana zack de le rocha gave you a massage.. thats kinda weird lol

  • @IgnacioYana he gave you a massage?? i'm jealous now!

  • @IgnacioYana i totally agree, but this song was written by the boss if u didnt already know

  • @IgnacioYana He never really seemed like the type to give massages.....

  • you can see the raw anger on his face as he says "welcome to the new world order" shit gives me goosebumps

  • Forever my all time favorite band!!!

  • and thats why i chose this name

  • Zack is a beast!!!!

  • You can tell the Zack is pissed.

  • This band needs to come back with a triple album, epsecially in the last 10 years with this country. Should not be hard for them to right songs lol.

  • @535wer they can give you a few tips on writing and spelling =P (no offence intended).

  • @535wer they broke up because their fans only cared about rockin out and looking cool, completely ignoring their message. zack got tired of people missing their point.

  • @BURN1NGx1NS1D3 I thought they broke up because Zak got real mad at Timmy C after they didn't win best rock album

  • @BURN1NGx1NS1D3 I've never heard that, but it very well could be true. Makes sense. It bugged me big time to see how half the fans acted during their shows. Same goes for other bands who have serious messages to convey. I gotta believe that some of the people at those shows would have been moshing to Country Joe's "Feel Like I'm Fixin' to Die Rag" had they been around back then.

  • @535wer Strange how they broke up just a year before 9/11 , they are back now and actually sound soemtimes even better than 10 years ago :O But they said nothing about any new material

  • @535wer Exactly. 8 years of Bush about wiped us out. But we thought (we "HOPE"d) that things would get better after that. But instead, we get nothing but a continuation, even worsening, of the US police state (here and abroad) under Obama. Sick sick times we're livin' in.

  • @ratmach Why even bother voting for these pricks huh! There is no such thing as the AMERICAN DREAM anymore,so sad! If you have a DREAM our country will ruin it for you! Most people know they are liars and yet they still vote and we vote blindly! I guess obama signed a bill that our government can inprison people for now reason. If that is true he is truly out of his mind. This band rage needs to come back so we can take the WAR to our own government and wallstreet.

  • @535wer Yeah, I think I'm about done with voting in national elections. And I'm not saying that lightly, seeing as I've been voting since the late 70s (yeah, I'm THAT old!) I decided to put my cynicism aside in '08... and of course we now know that was a mistake! The bill Obama signed gives him the authority to order the "indefinite detention" (and even killing) of any person believed to be a "threat to national security." In the US or not, American citizen or not... doesn't matter.

  • It is a sad sad angry world we live in huh. A friend once told me back in 1997 if you dont know whats going on the world you are not pissed off like rage against the machine!

  • @535wer

i think rightnow their songs are more current than ever!!!

    and needed!

  • you'll see me!! you'll see me!! you'll see me!!

  • love these guys!!

  • someone get me to one of these concerts

  • whats it been.....12 years now? for those who don't know who tom joad is FUCKING look him up will ya. ?

  • whats it been.....12 years now?

  • I get chills every time he sings the "you'll see me!" part. Very powerful, and best part of the book.

  • whats the story of this song?

  • @TheChaozavenue

Didn't you listen to the lyrics?, it's about people struggling for survival in different ways. Forget the names used in the song it is a story about the modern world and the exploitation that exists underneath all the bullsh!t.

The only reason we in the 'west' have cheap goods is because 10 other people are working in sweatshops for minimum wage.

  • @dchalf10 ahhh so thats why....sorry =[

  • Actually he a German Mexican MFer

  • 287 people need to replace batteries in their hearing aids...............absolutly terrible cover

  • I'm a HUGE Springsteen fan - he's my all time favorite artisti. But I love this cover. It's a great interpretation of a classic and takes a new perspective that really works.

  • A rap version of a classic??fail!

  • @redneck6310 no, not a rap version...i'd say these guys have earned the right to interpret the lyrics in their own unique way.

  • This song is crazy good, pumps you up like no other

  • BRAD WILK PLAYS THE DRUMS HERE WITH SO MUCH PASSION...CRISP AND CLEAN....

  • 3 people couldn't see Zack.

  • this version has so much more passion empathy behind it. i like this version a lot better than springsteen's. it really gets down and gritty and dirty, just like the difficult lives for many in the usa.

  • Fuck the NWO

  • Next to AC/DC i cant think of a band that can do so much with so little. Every so often just the right people get together that have the same vision. Rage is one of the best bands ever. Thanks for sharing.

  • @ownTer LOL AC/DC.....that was a good laugh

  • Comment removed

  • listened to this song eversince 2000...one of the best albums i've ever had that time...'til now...i still gettin' chills...after 11 years, now i'm curious bout the novel itself...i wanna read it...(even though im not a reader...XD)

"look for me 'ma, i'll be there"...made my eyes wet for a while...XD

4 thumbs up for the remake of this song...XD VIVA RATM!!! XD

  • @ei24sen If you don't like to read, you can find Grapes of Wrath on video on netflix, or in your local video store for less than 10 bucks. If your lazy, I'll send you my copy.

  • This version looks like crap though, compared to Springsteen's. THe song was not meant to be sang like that.

  • Wow this is straight up GAY! Bruce Springsteen sang this song better than any crappy band like this one can EVER do. This music had no heart! The boss is best, hands down.

  • @TreyTheHunter4

Man what is wrong with you, both versions are just awesome, performed by two american artists that both move in the same political spectrum (tho rage are a little more to the far left) both conveying the powerfull message of this song...plus many ppl actually learned both about Springsteen's original and the grapes of wrath...also should I remind you that Springsteen himself performed the song w Morello(rage's lead guitarist) in the magic tour premiere in 08 /watch?v=Sp-oDAxx8So

  • @TreyTheHunter4 both versions are awesome!

  • best concert ever

  • wow just that energy and emotion u can really feel it, unlike the fucking nickleback version where it's just bull shit rip off of RATM

  • This is way better than the original. Anyone who complains, is just jealous cause rage did a better job at the song. ; )

  • NWO you can't stop us now !!

  • safjsadkf

  • @stripmylove keep ur shitty classic loving self off the rock music videos

  • why did they play a short version?

  • NWO

  • Tom always plays this with a Gibson - Double Necker. Badass.

  • THE BATTLE OF BRAZIL - SWU

  • I Love all of there songs!!! ;) :D

  • Zack's screams aren't like the new pussified "needed" screams. Look at him, those are screams of fucking raw emotion. Screams of pure anger. Screams of hope in a hopeless situation. Screams of rage.

  • @killingblow528 agree totally. all these horrible new metal bands out nowadays have the most phony screams. If you are going to scream in a song you better mean it. To this day I feel like the most genuine screams come from Ian Mackaye (minor threat, fugazi) but Zack is definetely up there.

  • @killingblow528 Rage... against the machine?

  • @gbrooks2 Fucking yes.

  • best setlist ever

  • zack was crying

  • @bbtb01 its from a steinbeck book :)

  • "jjmm33" i so agree...

  • didnt bruce springsteen wrote this song?

  • @Elinoon yes he did my friend. Check out the E-street band with Tom Morello. Awesome

  • @Elinoon yes he did, this is a Rage Against The Machine cover. from the last album "Renegades" the whole is full of covers (songs by other people)

  • no words...magnificent

  • This song should be used as a call to resist the criminal shit of the Obama regime. I can't wait for the next election so we can restore conservatives into places of influence. One trillion dollars spent on a stupid stimulus and we get 10 percent unemployment! What bullshit. Now we can see that Obama can really walk on water - as long as he stays on top of the floating tar balls in the Gulf. Imposter and fraud!

  • @rockyracune

What in the hell gave you the impression that Rage supported conservatives?

  • @priestofpirates he never said they did, he just said conservatives should take our shit back, and possibly use this song as our theme. try to read stuff first :)

  • @priestofpirates Very good point made to rockyracune. It is the Republican party that is keeping the unemployed from receiving benefits because they think the unemployed are lazy. It is conservatives that are making sure the corporations make money, while the number of poor and homeless in this country grows and grows. It is the conservatives that are keeping public schools from getting funding to save the jobs of teachers. The left has heart, and the right does not. Rage On!

  • EPIC!!!

  • Muy buena!!

  • It is what i love best about Rage against the machine.......... the truth told by sioux

  • The one problem I have with Rage is they tend to play at hyperspeed live. If they could just slow it down a little, it would be perfect.

  • TOOL speaks to my soul and my spirit. Rage Against The Machine speaks to my furled brow, my clenched fist and my tightly laced boots.

  • totally whacked and totally the shit...'look in there eyes mom and you'll see me'

  • Awesome! Love this song! RATM FTW!!

  • Perhaps a book was involved? Balls out interpretation fellas.

  • Such an amazing cover. So good.

  • shit..

    the best ratm

  • shit..

  • Cover of Bruce Springsteen's "The Ghost Of Tom Joad"

  • end the NEW WORLD ORDER

  • Comment removed

  • When a Band, notably a singer, makes you believe what he's saying while he's singing it, you can't go wrong. Rage does that to you.

  • @JJMM33 amen brotha

  • zach...so much energy and emotion cant wait for their free concert

  • @collongette Theres a Rage free concert? Where and When? lol

  • @vicwilkie You fail at life

  • This song is amazing! The Springsteen/Morello version is pretty cool, but RAGE puts a different energy into this song that "the boss" can't. FUCK REGAN, BUSH sr., and BUSH jr., and the NEW WORLD ORDER! This version is a poison-tipped arrow thrust directly into the heart of American capitalism. Love it!

  • No man, this version is fucking amazing.

  • delay lol

  • BADASS! It's refreshing to see a group from the 90's that has some BALLS!

  • man, along with the red hot, their the only ones that can match up to the old rock groups....

    we' ve got a serious lack of talent nowadays;

Oasis? arctic monkeys?? c'mon! get serious..

  • power chords and girly voices... sucks doesn't it?

  • @InconditusFilms Cool story.

  • Muse is the band of this generation in my opinion that performs up to the standards of some of the greatest bands of all time.

Just watch the whole HARRP concert at Wembley Stadium, they even do a few RATM tributes lol

  • yes.i agree, but i include RATM and RHCPeppers.

also, arctic monkey s got talent but they are not rock and roll, their british pop culture and in my humble opinion, it does not qualify as rock..

  • Comment removed

  • @paokmacedonia name one band since the year 2000 that matches the standard of the bands before that year. there are none.

  • @PimpSonnyMax linkin park or the white stripes.

  • @paokmacedonia all i got to say is i agree man, AMEN to that

  • @paokmacedonia there's still talent out there, its just a little hard to find nowadays...

  • @paokmacedonia

i think arctic monkeys are not so bad..maybe there's no comparison with RATM or other guys who destroyed asses...but they're a good band. oasis made something of nice too...but you're right,we need more talent...

  • @paokmacedonia Oasis is a lack of talent? say that in front of Liam Gallagher you'd probably end up in a hospital.

  • @paokmacedonia what is old and what nowadays? i'd say oasis and ratm are old too

  • @paokmacedonia so very true. THIS was talent.

  • @paokmacedonia How about The Raconteurs? Joe Bonamassa? White Stripes? Chickenfoot? Black Country Comunnion? Airbourne? Dude, (milady), there are really a bunch of other spirited and talented rock groups. Don't be such a pesimist, rock ain't dead yet :D

  • @paokmacedonia I love rage against the Machine, but you better do your research on what makes a song writer and a musician before you slag Noel Gallagher man.

  • Comment removed

  • Oasis wrote great songs, and their style is unique.but their success is more commercial than artistic. There was a demand for that kind of music, back in depressive england. And they met that demand. They offered the people what the people wanted to hear, and that brings them closer to madonna than to a rock band.To cut a long story short, they were a great band, but it ain' t rock!@canadianscot06

  • Comment removed

  • You are rocking when you are creating a demand for your stuff. When you just meet the demand with music, no matter how great the songs, you ain t rocking. Then again, it is just my opinion.@canadianscot06

  • Classic reworking of a classic Springsteen tune!

  • what do you call the effect on zach's mic?

  • echo? maybe

  • Delay.

  • @fererorechero REVERB IDIOT
