Thanks for the comment and the obvious observation: She is enjoying it! Here is a trick that might work on your lhasas: Get a bag and keep their treats in there so they associate the bag with "good". Make sure you place them on the surface you'd usually groom them and give rewarding treats. After a few treats sessions over a couple of weeks, put in the bag a few grooming tools, reward them with a treat and take out a brush for a couple of strokes. Check reactions and either proceed or stop.
Yes, it does look as though the groomer is being too rough but if she wasn't enjoying it, she wouldn't have lay there like she did. I have three Lhasa's and I wish even one of them would lay down to allow grooming like that :))
@jennfox6 Hi and thanks for the comment. I have taken her to a number of groomers and THEY were the heavy handed ones, so I do it my self and she enjoys it as seen in the video.
That comb is way to small.. it looks like a stripping comb. You need to use one with larger teeth and you wont have to pull so much. And for mats use a de-matter, they work wonders, easy to use and fast and don't hurt the dog.
a lot of people where I live have no idea what a lhassa apso is. I bought my mom one about a year or 2 ago. She is all white with light big brown spots near her butt and she has blue eyes. She loves to be groomed too. But as soon as I wash her she runs to the creek. :( lol
If I could make one suggestion it would be to brush the dog with a slicker brush before combing, it loosens the hair and makes combing a hell of a lot easier. It'll save you time and be kinder on the dog's skin.

What breed is your dog? Kiki is a Lasa Apso. Some L O V E being groomed, some find it boring.
Are you from around the area where the video is posted?
