Dx5e is a TERRIBLE TX! Get rid of it BEFORE it costs you a lost or damage plane. Known for cutting out. vids all over youtube of this flaw. this radio is JUNK. I refuse to use mine again...I won't fly till I can buy a 6i or 7 as apparently they do not have the same issue. if you like your planes....get rid of this radio. Once it begins it just gets worse and worse.
when my plane is hangling around at home i keep the bind plug in the receiver so i dont loose it... and also i like to think of it as one of the tags that have to be removed preflight checks on real planes
I bought this trans at my local hobby shop and no binding plug in the box. I have no way to bind other than to buy that stupid wire. With Futaba you just push a button and it binds, way better set up.
@bdarnell1966 all you need to do is get a plug with wires ,something like a servo extension and cut the wires off near the plug and short the two outside terminals together .. bingo .. you have a binding plug
@fingers967 can you bind the dx5e to different aircraft on the field because i have two rc planes and one transmittor and im new to this binding thing so any advice will be apprieciated. thank you
@kondakor1998 you can bind two different aircraft .. but i believe only one at a time ,so if you bind to one plane and fly it for a bit ,you will have to bind back to the other one before flying.. now lets be clear here.. im not 100% sure about that because i have several radios and always have one for each plane .. but i cant see being able to bind one radio like the dx5 to several planes unless done one at a time.. a dx6 however has model memories so it would be possible with that one for sure
Hi, how are you hooking your battery up to the receiver? I have the same battery from my super cub lp, but I don't know how to get power to my receiver. Im tying to bind the same receiver onto a lanier stinger 60. Please help me. Thanks ahead of time.
@davonizdashit this may soung very confusing but on brushless what i do is have them how you would nomaly having the wires where they usaly go and the on the reciver lead you on one of the brushless esc u cut the red wire and then have a y lead on the reciver lead you may find this link help full i will send it to u
@illbeda1974 although i think thats highly unlikley ,theres the fact that your transmitter is much closer than his and yours will be the stronger signal during the process .. I dont think that will ever be a problem
@tagelokoy OH NOOO dont do that .. anybody at the flying field could go into bind mode with thier transmitter and you could loose control of your plane .. never leave the plug in ,, always take it out after binding
i also have a spektrum dx5e and a ar500 receiver. I've connected 2 servo's: one in the throttle-port, and one in the rudder-port, but when I turn the system on, the servo's are doing strange things. Can you help me ? (or give me an explanation)
Do you know if a Spectrum tx dx6i can be bound to any other brand of reciever? I would love to use it with all of my aircraft instead of having all these transmitters, and it's a way better one.
hi, i have a spectrum transmitter(Esky, 4ch for honey bee v2 helicopter) with training switch too, i just burn out my receiver and i got the new receiver (4in1) how do i bind that?
hi, i have a hawk sky, jut got the dx6i and receiver, i put the receiver in the hawk sky and i am tyring to bind it, when i plug in the batt, the light on the receiver is solid not flashing, cant bind, the batt wire is going to the esc and back to the reciever,is this the prob?should i connect it straight to receiver, confused, anyone?
I agree that you need to have the model name active on a dx6i . but im using a dx5e here in this video .. even though i mentioned the dx6i in this video ,i fail to see the relevance of your comment. but thanks anyways . perhaps some of the viewers will find that info helpful
This is most relevant, because there's a lot of confused/frustrated newbies trying to figure out their spektrum systems. As all experience spektrums owners learn you don't just bind/fly one time. We've all made this mistake of leaving it on the wrong model. I know this was not your intention, but I am just adding this comment to help newbies. I am a futaba user, but had the recent "experience" of setting up a spektrum system for a friend. What pain. Keep on flying.

Does the bind plug stay in the batt outlet throughout the whole binding process and when would you remove the bind plug??

What happens if your next door neighbor is binding at the same time?

@illbeda1974 Then you hope to hell he doesn't bind, and then test his controller all over your house.

You left out one very important thing. The "model name" has to be active.
