it's fucking hectic, i took my boat offshore other day jumping up and down on those crazy waves and it was a clam day! and feel the POWER of the ocean. it's dangerous, but dangerous = fun
Why does everyone put apostrophes all over the place! Not one is required in the title of this video. Apostrophes denote possession or abbreviation, not plurals!
Been there done it! Say no more. Water can be a FORCE to be unforgiving! These fella's make it look like fun...the music isn't playing when the bow is below the water, and the stern is swamped...yee haa...
It' scary as hell...what can I say. Been there when other boats are yelling May Day. Dam north westerly's! Some days boating isn't like it used to be...something seriously wrong with our weather system.. Dol's ..miss the old days of sunny, calm days...? What the heck happened?
I remember that moment well, but my bottle ran out and I put her nose into it!, look at the video responce posted above 'Violent storm force 11', some better following sea moments there.
@Sjofugla They did show them coming in down sea. You ride the back of the swell like they did so you dont get flipped by a wave coming over the transom.
just a question, why do i always see in your videos 2 pilot vessels/interceptors? is that normal routin to sail out with 2 vessels? or is it just for filming?
Sometimes we have two vessels launched at the same time, which presents a good oportunity to get some on board video at sea. Thats why there may be two boats together, so its just for filming.
Nice, but the trials schould be on the North-sea with gale 8 and 9, here of the coast of Belgium and Nethelands, think she wouldn't react the same way...Anyway she certainly keeps it well...Cheers Philippe skipper of a Ofshore 105 chartervessel in Belgium.
most patrol boats are "pilot" boats which hold up outstandingly in rough seas and high knot winds. But, it's still enough to scare the shit out of you when you're stuck out there trying to navigate to your destination. I have a Chris Craft (only 26 ft) and I've had the piss literally scared right out of me. Wish I could afford a Pilot boat!!!!
There are some newer videos of these pilot boats with even better rough weather footage, search "Violent storm force 11" in you tube search, its well worth viewing.
There are some newer, even better videos of these boats in rough weather on you tube, search 'Interceptor 55 slamed by big wave'and also 'Malta pilot boat' these are a couple of excellent videos.
What a great vessel. Love the video but god you have got me thinking. If by chance you have more information on these vessels please message me. 5-stars, well done.
Looks like fun!

While I love the video as a whole, I am definately not impressed with the ride.
It is a very rough ridiing wet boat.
Thank God you have a cabin to get in.

I wanted him to stay side-on @4.10!!.
I have to say though they handled those seas very well.
What I would have like to see is how they handled running with the sea with a big breaker coming into them from the back.

@frankwildcat Yes if a breaker got into that big open cockpit they are in trouble. You are supposed to break out the sea anchor at that point .
