the first gen ipo has no mic but the 2nd gen has it in the jack, just get a mic that fits or is it the iphone headphones, either way the 2nd gen has a mic input in the jack

the 2nd gen. isn't jailbroken as of yet, so I'd recommend using fring for the time being. you can check out lots of cool vids with fring that don't involve jailbreaking for the 2nd gen and 1st gen.
