@elon92 They usually come with bird plugs in them limiting the capacity to 3 rounds. They are all removable and people usually take them right out when they buy them giving you 5/6 round capacity.

I would be worried about the buck shot going through walls or bouncing. I personally use 7 1/2 trap loads as a home defense round I would highly recommend shooting some pop bottles from 5-20 yards with them some time and I think you might be convinced to use the same. Either way thanks for the vid
@thegrahamisawesome You are talking about distances of up to a whopping 20-30 feet... 7 1/2 shot is ideal for this situation... have you ever seen what bird shot does to human flesh? It ripps it from the bone. You shoot someone in the leg with bird shot at 30 feet and the person is going to be incompasistated due to the shock and the inability to stand, and you minimize the possibility of hitting a loved one hiding in the next room.

Bird shot is a really good home defense shell too because it has a tighter group and you don't have to worry about it going through walls and injuring someone at the house next-door

A LOT of people have died by depending on birdshot, its actually commonly used in gang warfare/crime because its cheaper than buckshot.
That's the main reason you hear about police getting shot multiple times with a shotgun and living to kill the suspect, birdshot.
Please use Buck, if your neighbor gets a little lead and drywall thrown at him because you had to defend your family he will understand.
Of course if you they all hit the perp that won't happen, so practice! XD

It makes absolutely no sense to me, but some folks do just that. You could have one hand otherwise occupied or hurt. You will probably also not have the time to draw and rack the slide. There is a rule that goes "3 to 5". That is, most encounters are over in 3 to 5 seconds, involve 3 to 5 shots, and take place within 3 to 5 yards. If someone wants to waste the time to rack a slide because they are unsure of their own ability to be safe with a firearm that's fine by me, but why play with your li

Another way to keep it loaded is to rack without a round and then load the tube. People tend to intuitively want to rack before they pull the trigger. With the gun in the wrong hands a moment of confusion can save your ass.

I love how people call it paranoia instead of preparedness bad people live in America too and that's why we have law enforcement, but law enforcement only works if your still alive to call them. Only Naive people think that they'll be safe all the time. It strikes me that a lot of Americans almost fetishise their security - they feel there is something very 'macho' about fending off intruders, to the extent that many give the impression that they long to be attacked in their own home.
In my view, lethal munitions should be illegal; by all means bear arms and defend your home, just use rubber bullets, and make sure the criminal's still alive for his ultimate fate to be decided by a legal process and judge, not an adrenaline fuelled 'gun nut'.

@highwaystar1009 If you're a shooter you know that long guns get much more power downrange per shot and are much easier to operate under stress. You really only want to use a pistol if you have to. Why allow yourself to be outgunned on your home turf. Also, as far are you're thinking this man is paranoid he is likely a gun enthusiast whose hobby carries nicely to his own personal protection, as far as I'm concerned there's nothing wrong with being prepared. Shit happens.

@elon92 They usually come with bird plugs in them limiting the capacity to 3 rounds. They are all removable and people usually take them right out when they buy them giving you 5/6 round capacity.

@Speedogg138 Ok :P thought that like all shotguns had a capacity of like 6 rounds (I've built one myself, well the reloading system) and it could fit like 9 (or 10 but then the reload spring sometimes jammed) and that shotgun wasn't much bigger than most commercial ones.

@youkorny Most guns under water (besides a spear gun) wont go past 9ft (effectively). And I have to know, why are you giving the glock hell for not shooting past 9ft under water? Do you assume he lives in an aquarium? An ak-47, in particular can shoot about five yards underwater, and at that point its slow enough to catch the round. However, you can get special attachments for it to make it shoot better underwater. But whats this? You can do that with a glock too? Amazing.

I would be worried about the buck shot going through walls or bouncing. I personally use 7 1/2 trap loads as a home defense round I would highly recommend shooting some pop bottles from 5-20 yards with them some time and I think you might be convinced to use the same. Either way thanks for the vid

@thegrahamisawesome You are talking about distances of up to a whopping 20-30 feet... 7 1/2 shot is ideal for this situation... have you ever seen what bird shot does to human flesh? It ripps it from the bone. You shoot someone in the leg with bird shot at 30 feet and the person is going to be incompasistated due to the shock and the inability to stand, and you minimize the possibility of hitting a loved one hiding in the next room.
