The world wide CQ Amature Radio Contest This is the one weekend a year when every ASS HOLE con tester on the entire planet comes out of the wood work and the ham band from 1.8 to 30mhz sounds like 11 meters only worse. You cant even talk local its ridiculousThey should change the name to The world wide ASS HOLE Amature Radio Contest.
Just purchased a Yaesu FT-767GX (in the mail to me now), which I plan to restore to everyday use. Enjoyed watching your rig at work and hope mine performs as well. Working on my General license and will perhaps hear from you during a future contest. 73 de W5NET (Heidelberg DE).
Hi Stewart, Good luck on your General hope to work you one day ;-)
The FT 767GX is Very good on HF but a Little bit deaf and out dated on VHF. Besides that I love using the Robust, quality sounding. reliable. FT-767, (owned for the last 6+ years) on all of the HF bands .Enjoy yours and good DXing 73
Got the radio just after posting that last message and it's looking good. Seems to be working well, but will wait to take the exam before trying anything beyond a dummy load. The battery is dead, so had to order another. All else seems fine (at least at the moment). Can't complain since I got it cheap from an old friend who owns a lot of older radios. He knew I liked this radio (saw it at his house) and offered it after learning I was thinking about getting back into ham radio.

Hi mate - I listened on my radioshack dx-394 and the 20m band especially was absolutely packed never seen it so busy. Well done on the contacts!

Nice one! It was a bit too busy at times making it difficult to hear anyone over the QRM.
I did manage many great DX QSO's on 21mhz (15m) without the noise, 15M is a good band when open.
All the best and thanks again. Simon

Hihi , I love how that even stations that are weak and almost swamped to death by QRM can still get a 59 report.
I luv it. :-)
Neat video of the contest.
