blockbuster does suck... they said i kept one of there games and i didnt and they charged me for the game and refused me ever renting at blockbuster again.... i never stole the movie i can remember taking it back in and exchanging it.

Blockbuster now officially sucks!! In the past they have raised the price of this service without any notice. Now they count your in store exchange as part of your queue. Meaning, If you exchange the movie that they mailed to you in the store, You will not receive the next movie from your online queue until you return that movie to the store. Now there is NO reason to even subscribe to this service since you have to make double the number of trips to the store. Final straw for me. Cancelled!!

Well actually, I get everything from NetFlix. They're movies usually come in good condition. BB has problems with their web site as well. It's a shockingly bad GUI but such is life.

It sounds like you're actually describing an ongoing problem with Facebook's privacy policy. This Christmas, they were publishing peoples' Amazon purchases right before the holiday. Which allowed people to discover what gifts they were getting in advance. Big public outcry.

As far as Blockbuster goes, my problem with them has always been the lack of true independent films. Other than their Sundance section (actually backed by majors), everything else is big-name studio releases. Not good.

My main problem with Sundance (besides purporting to be an independent film festival while taking big Hollywood studio dollars) has always been their resistance to free speech and peaceful assembly. Every year they take over the entire town of Park City for their festival. They have managed to outlaw any competing (truly independent) film festivals taking place in the city during their celebration. They are running an illegal monopoly, and disrupting the speech and assembly of filmmakers.

I think you misunderstand me. I *like* glorified leftist anti-amerikkkan movies and propaganda. In fact, many of the competing festivals (like TromaDance and SlamDance) also promote leftist anti-amerikkkan policies.

Though I doubt anyone would consider Clerks, El Mariachi, The Blair Witch Project and Napoleon Dynamite (all pushed through the SunDance promotion machine) as being any form of propaganda, whatsoever. Just entertainment. And some of them are weak at that, even.

We used to go to Blockbuster.What drove us away was the fact that the drones that worked there often 'misplaced or lost' the videos we returned.Then when I would panic and go ballistic they would phone the next day or later in the week and say oops we 'found' it.One poor sod had to pay for the vids he returned because they lost his,they blamed him."Screw that!" we said and like the Raven,"Nevermore".

Slocksuster does buck, at least the one in the town where I went to uni did. We had so many problems and annoyances there that we eventually boycotted the place.
