Pollock was too slow/benign to be slegdy! I remember Mathew Hayden cutting him to size when he showed the world Pollock's true place by walking out and hitting him out of the park, the attack, and out of contention!! Pollock was never a class bowler.
I have played with a lovely ginger bowler and he is the nastiest, most aggressive bloke on the pitch...temper, intimidatory...6'4" and 16 stone. Get him in the clubhouse and he is a different person..and is teetotal. He once told an Aussie overseas player he was going home in a bodybag...and he meant it. Anyway..if a bowler is trying to be a cunt like Pollock and its gonna hit you you deflect it from yourself and ignore the ginger cunt. Simple. Strauss is not a pussy..just has good manners.
The batsman will always win the stare-out as it is the bowler that has to turn away. A real class batsman will never get involved; just stay in the bubble. Dravid, Tendulkar, Atherton, Stewart, Smith. Could go on but never let themselves become intimidated.
