  • BEST 80's song............. so many GREAT one hit wonders, this is ONE of the BEST

  • this song has got to be one of the greatest ever....I have chills. Chris Difford's backing vocals and Glenn Tillbrook's lead are utterly magical. *tears*

  • cp 70, dx-7's, simmons drumz...

    the good ol day'z!!

  • Really haunting sound to this song, squeeze legends

  • Gilson Lavis - legendary drummer.

  • Love this song, memories of travelling to Florida in 85!

  • Brillian performance

  • i like the video version where Jools takes a sledgehammer to the piano

  • keith wilkinson's bass guitar underpins this whole song and all the songs on the cosi fan tutti frutti album......

  • where's the video??

  • One of the greatest bands ever - East Side Story should be officially up there with 'Pet Sounds' and 'White Album'

  • hackers crash and burn baby!

  • Did you ever read the words that said love would end , i read them tonight.

  • Love this song.. I have to dig up their greatest hits.. i have it somewhere lol

  • Love seeing jools and Christopher Holland playing together here. thanks for posting

  • this song and its fraternal twin "King George Street" were stunning in 1985 and have lost none of their unique qualities in the intervening near-quarter century! but why no album version of either one on YouTube? is this corporate greed on the prowl again?

  • try squeeze woman's world

  • I couldn't do a video good enough for the song.

Vanity Fair is another classic from East Side Story but, then again, that album is jam full of classics.

  • Love this song about somebody who killed his wife. Love Squeeze love Pam. next song squeeze 8535937

  • Love this song one of my favourites :)

Ive always been a big fan of Jools Holland since Squeeze, hes just brilliant!

  • One of their best songs. The music is outstanding and lyrics of great. Great mood piece. When melody was king.

  • First ime I heard this song (1985), the guy playing it for me 3 times in a row committed suicide that same night by hanging himself. That gives a different meaning to the words "Last time tonight forever". Stil cannot hear the song without crying my eyes out.

  • The keyboards are enough to make this a classic; Glenn's angelic singing is such a plus. An amazing song.

  • Such a beautiful voice. This song is gorgeous, the words...wow. Breath-taking.

  • I lost myself in this song for a moment. Squeeze just sends me ♥

  • I am going to see Squeeze in 2 days in Detroit!(Royal Oak)

Got free tix/aftershow passes from the drummer! Nice guy!

  • I just saw Squeeze in Toronto on August 28 2008. Tilbrook's singing is unbelievable. Super tight, 90 minutes, about 20 great tunes. It's wrong that a guy like this has to "play" for his dinner, and the likes of Britney Spears are set for life at the age of 20. It's ironic that Squeeze came out at the birth of videos, that videos helped make the band big, but that videos also played a huge role in pushing real talent out of the limelight.

  • That's the way it'll probably always be...all about image...and fads...never mind the great music and songwriting that's out there.

  • What a fine song from Squeeze...One of my faves from them...The memories...

  • Gorgeous song, Jools is the best!

  • Its jools even the keyboardist at this point?

They change everyone in the band constantly except for glenn and chris.

  • They do change band members often, but that is Jools on keyboards in this video (the piano/keyboards in the front).

  • Cool fretless bass

  • sounds like les dawson on piano. very effective and deliberate reflecting the mood of the song perfectly.squeeze's finest.

  • Never heard a live version of this before...thanks

  • Fantastic song- fantastic band!

  • That's Jools Holland, legendary pianist extraordinaire.

  • Yes, it's Jools on the piano. The lad behind him is his brother, Chris.

  • Ahah! What a musical family. Thanks.

  • @tygre97 good keyboard song

  • @FionaSeinfeld I am totally in agreement with your comment, Jules Holland is a awesome on the piano.

  • Comment removed

  • Yes, he looked young and nervous.

  • Does anyone remember the quote "A momentary lapse of muscular coordination" -- said by Jack Nicholson in "The Shining" -- about 2:23. Really cool.

  • Yes. It appeared about 30 seconds into the album version of the song. According to the book "Song By Song", Jack was a fan and didn't mind. Whether that's true .....

  • This has got to be my favourite Squeeze song, thanks for posting!

  • Thanks for posting. I haven't heard this song in years.
