  • colin baker exterminate exterminate extermiNATE

  • @harleystreetglide11 What do you have against Colin Baker? And don't just answer with "His Doctor was shit" or something like that, because that is not true. On TV, the sixth Doctor had a real hard time, not being allowed to wear what he wanted ( A black mantle) or even portraying the character he wanted to be and getting shitty to mediocre scripts, that is true. However, on the Big Finish Audios, he gets the best stories, I assure, which is proof that he actually CAN act.

  • @KingLofiOne Eh,Tom Baker was really good, and Colin was okay.

  • I am one of the likers. You can't exterminate me. Hehe

  • 17 Dislikers. EXTERMINATE EXTERMINATE

  • Colin Baker = best dr who!!!

  • @Ps3KILLZYOU i agree with you son

  • i like the explosion bit of this theme

  • This should have been Baker's theme from Twin til Revelation, and Terror Vision should have been the Trial Of theme.

  • Definately in my top 3 themes

  • it provides an interesting contrast to the previous theme, has a slightly dreamy/ haunting quality to it

  • Urg! Worst theme ever! Actually it's pretty good. I just listened to the 80-85 one though and I'm not sure this is an improvement(although it does briefly kick in at about 1.21). Could be used for a nightmare dream squence in the show I guess.

  • @kurukblackflame This theme was meant to be Colin Baker's theme but it only lasted for the Trial of a Timelord arc. It's got a darker tone to it, I like it.

  • i wish colin baker had a longer time as dr who before he was fired by the BBC and the same for sylvester mccoy, i wish he had more time before the show ended it's original run

  • I love the bit at 0:25 !

  • This is my favourite version of the Doctor Who theme, without a doubt. The reason being that it was during the original transmission of 'The Trial of a Timelord' that I became hooked on the programme at the tender age of 5! Even hearing this version of the theme now brings back memories of finding this music very sinister and spooky!

  • Is it just mw or does this sound different on the actual show?

  • @Iainofthemeteor Yes, because the original mix used on the TV was made in about a week by Dominic Glynn (who wasn't really very pleased with it to begin with), but for this "album" version he had much longer to refine it and add extra effects.

  • @DarthJedi2005remixes Just like the 1980-1985 though, it seems to echo more and have different sound in the actual opening titles (This one is improved in the titles, but the 80-85 version was killed by it)

  • Today 14 HAte This. I Would Put A Crucifix Through Their Brains

  • And 50k Daleks HAte This, And 500,00 Sontarans

  • If You Have Realtek Guys, You Can Have A Experiment On It

  • this version was always a bit unique to me cause it kinda had a spooky type of sound to it

  • I don;t get the hate for this version of the theme tune. I love it!

  • all rise for the national anthem of gallifrey

  • @animationdude56 This Is Gallifrey, by Murray Gold?

  • @AMarZBarOneOfAKind well judging from my convention experience it seems colin baker is most easy doctor to meet :D

  • I don't think this theme is as bad as others say. I mean I liked the early 60s and 70s ones although I prefer the early 80s one the most. But this one I think is still pretty decent in it's own way. This one gives a better mysterious feel to it with it not being as loud as the others and that's why I think this is still good, the more quiet tone the synthesizer going on in the background and my favorite part is 0:24 because that makes me feel like I'm out in space seeing the universe. I love it.

  • i get an eargasm just listening to this. thats a good thing by the way

  • Ah, the Colin Baker years. Or The Doctor's mid-life crisis as I like to think of it.

  • @Jrinu 9, 10 and 11 = leather jacket, sneakers and a bow tie

  • I love the very end!

    2:34-2:50

The best part of it is how it has a loop before the sonic boom. I like how the boom it's self sin't actually that loud comapred with the rest of the theme, unlike the Howell/McCulloch themes.

  • When was this used? It doesn't sound like Trial Of A Timelords theme.

  • @hoggys2much it is but it is the extended version

  • Dominic Glynn really knew how to make that damn Juno-6 sing. Some of those sounds are absolutely uncanny.

Also, Colin is probably my favorite Doctor.

  • What ten greedy shitters disliked this theme.( No offence to those who pushed it by mistake)

  • @theoctograms Those ten have just been targeted for EXTERMINATION!

  • 10 people are douchebags haha highest rated comment

  • OMFG 10 PEOPLE HATE THIS WHAT IDIODS!!!!!!!

  • This theme is awful compared to Peter Howells 1980-85 theme. There's just nothing to it.

  • The Sixth Doctor was an erratic prick during his post-regeneration, but I think he stabilized only into a fellow who ran a very tight ship, which Peri simply found difficult to deal with after having just met the Fifth Doctor. Clearly, he still got business taken care of properly at the end of the day. Colin Baker was a pretty good Doctor Who, "The Trial of a Time Lord" was an amazing story, and I can't help but wonder if the Valeyard is gonna be revisited after Matt Smith regenerates.

  • I LOVE the dum dee dums in this one.

  • best theme and doctor! cant believe they fired him!!!!!!!!

  • I loved Colin Baker's arrogance ,he should had a chance to finish his run properly...This theme rocks !!

  • Colin Baker's Big Finish episodes are amazingly brilliant.

  • It sounds like the original Ron Grainer theme.

  • It's funny how all the rubbish doctors have the good themes...

  • OMG Listen to that from 0:00 to 0:02

  • Love it!

  • My favorite classic series theme!

  • this is my favorite of the 80's themes!

it's so creepy, all the way through!

    faved.

  • You gotta love the bassline.

  • Three people missed the like button? 8(

  • So love the bass in this.

  • I like the base to this theme but some of the effects well.........not too sure about them I don't like or dislike them

  • If anyone else thinks this theme is awesome, give me a thumbs up!

  • @DoctorWhoCenter2010 This theme has unique twist to it I remember coming home while I was in elementary school and watching Dr. Who on PBS my favorite part was when the music came on man I can't believe Dr. Who has been on for such a long period of time is there a place where I can order the movies on DVD, Dr Who is still ahead of it's time

  • I love the 80's Doctor Who themes! They need to bring them back for the new series. I also think the middle 8 sounds really cool!

  • The baseline of this is awesome! I love this theme! It's my favorite.

  • Oi! all haters are liars-this brings out the DR. WO essance!

  • who are the TWO BASTARDS WHO HATE THIS?

  • @babeeshopiez123 Only two?

Nah, only joking, its a good theme on the whole - I just wish it had more of a chance.

  • @DarthJedi2005 Poor Colin never got to finish his run as The Doctor. He was fantastic as the Sixth Doctor.

  • @DarthJedi2005 I wish Colin Baker had more of a chance. Getting fired for something that was clearly the writer's fault was a bad move.

  • @DarthJedi2005 It's got my favourite bridge.

In general, no disrespect to Gold but I much prefer the 80s themes.

  • @babeeshopiez123 Make that three!

  • @babeeshopiez123

Two + Two = Four, there are Four bastards who hate this.

  • @babeeshopiez123 Sixth Doctor haters, clearly.

  • @babeeshopiez123 theres 10 now! D:

  • @babeeshopiez123 it must have been John Nathan Turner and Michael Grade! LMAO!

  • @babeeshopiez123 the master, and davros lol

  • @babeeshopiez123 now theres 15 fucks who dont like this

  • @babeeshopiez123 The Doctor has a lot of enemies, remember?

  • Can You Send Me This Theme??

  • I rather liked the 6th Doctor. He was egotistic to the point that it was just plain funny to listen to him.

  • @CadgeLeWool The best part is he was almost always right about the stuff he boasted about.

  • I've always taken the... mewing in this theme as the meowing of the cat on his coat. It is a good version.

  • Never liked this version, and I grew up with it. Davison's is still my favourite. This one isn't frigtening enough.

  • Can You Send Me A Download Link?

  • "Trial of a Timelord" was also supposed to get a new opening sequence to go along with the new theme but unfortunately circumstance prevented this from happening. While not my favorite version of the Who theme I find it vastly superior to the McCoy era theme

  • The Drum beat is so... slappy. It makes it sounds cool but sort-of ghost-like...

  • This is the best music that ive ever heard its just that space fill to it

  • This must be one of the best versions of Dr Who Music.

    I simply think it''s smashing,rather!!

Yeah one of best tv themes ever!!

  • My personal favourite... the bassline is lush and you can really hear that Juno 6 :D so lush sounding....mmmmm. :)

  • This one is very creepy indeed... Maybe that's why it only lasted for one series? Does anyone know why it was dropped so soon?

  • Colin Baker was sacked, and they needed and wanted a new title sequence, and sadly this didn't fit in with the title sequence. I personally think it's great, JNT liked it but not all fans share my opinion lol

  • not many people watched him in this season as colin's lines made him look like a galactic bully to his companions, so the viewing figures dropped vastly and he was sacked after this season.

note that he was so angry with this he refused to be in his own regeneration scene and him regenerating was just sylvester in a wig, seriously, look at the scene!

  • @whoaholic That is the official reason as to why he never attended the regeneration, but I remember seeing an interview with him and he said that the regeneration scene was taken from him and given to Sylvester McCoy.

  • @disremembrance It only lasted one series because Colin Baker was sacked by Micheal Grade (the little bastard). and they had a new title sequence for sylvester, it was cgi, and they must have thought it didnt really suit the title sequences. if they make a special 50th anniversary of doctor who in 2013, i think they should use this theme

  • This theme is far superior from the rest ( exept very first theme from the 1960's time ).Its like a 1980's version of the very first theme.

  • This Doctor Who theme sounds funky

  • I love the subtle way you've bended the tubing at the bottom to match the Colin Baker version of the logo- nice touch!

  • I heard a little bleep at the start.

  • You can find this on Disc 1 - Special Features - Music Videos - Theme Remix.

  • Good Baseline!

  • Top 3 Doctor Who Themes:

    1.McCulloch

    2.Glynn (this one!)

    3.Howell

  • I like this version of the theme, very haunting.

  • i love the haster bagpipes bit

  • The 67,81, 86, and 87 themes are my favorites out of Doctor Who.

  • Just watched all 14 Episodes of this today between 12.00 til 6.00 on DVD .

A really good , if somewhat bloody confusing , story . Just a shame really it was Colin's last and that his Doctor's final line had to be " Carrot Juice , Carrot Juice , Carrot Juice " , but then again , Colin's Sixth Doctor Audio Storys from Big Finish continue the Sixth Doctor so it's not all bad . Love this Theme , even thou alot of People hate it .

    Jason .

  • Me too!

  • @doctorwhoone I think the hate on Colin Baker is completely unjustified. I might be the minority in this case, but I feel he had a great volatileness not seen in other doctors. After a while it started to get kinda samey starting with the fifth doctor. But you really can't blame him for being in bad stories, blame the dumb-ass writers for making unoriginal crap that's full of fan-service. I met the man and he was one of the nicest people I'd ever met, he spent about three minutes talking to me.

  • @lukaspukas1 Cool : )

I actually saw him once in Barkings 10th Planet store before it sadly closed down, about 3 or 4 years ago this was, he was with Peter Davison and Nickola Bryant, thou it was infact ment to be Kate O'Mara with Peter and Colin but Nickola seemed to have taken her place for a signing they did their back then.

  • It's pretty pitiful when someone simply says they don't like something (without profanity or nastiness of any kind) and they get a bunch of thumbdowns so you have to click 'show' to see what they said. I also don't like this version. It's so watered down and wimpy compared to what we got in the 1970s and early 1980s. I especially love the early 1980s version. I'm trying to recreate it on the Atari 2600 without much success so far.

  • @Replayability I know what you mean. I once saw on a video that somebody had said that they thought Super Mario Galaxy slightly overrated. 18 thumbs down, it was ridiculous.

  • I love the doctor who theme. I had, untill recently, the 1980-85 version on cd but it sort of tailed off at that rising scale part. I greatly fear my sister has taken the cd away, because I woke her up with it one morning and since she went to uni theres been no sight of it. ho hum.

  • Trial of a Timelord theme. Thanks for posting this. :)

  • It feels like the same theme to me, can't tell the difference!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Listen to them back to back. There's a big difference.

  • the middle 8 in this one reminds me of the previous theme of ABC (the australian ABC) news.

  • OMG you are sooooooooooooooo true, well spotted.

  • what are you guys talking about

  • The middle 8ths high pitch sqeak sounds just like ABC news on Australian TV from a few years back
