my take on the low poll is that it says "likely GOP voters",the thing is,ron paul is getting support from a lot of UNlikely GOP voters,maybe because they were registered on another party before or simply because they didn't vote,in both cases the poll won't take them into account,leaving out a lot of potential ron paul votes.

The reason Paul is at 2% is because the pollsters call Republicans that registered as Republicans 4 years ago. Most of the numbers are disconnected by now as the new wave of voters are on the internet and on cell phones.

If you want a straight poll, stand outside the drivers license office (everyone has to go there) and ask people if they'll vote in the election.
Give the ones who say they'll be voting a sheet with the list of candidates and ask them to put a check by the one they'll vote for.
Rotate the list so each candidate is at the top on an equal number of sheets.
That's it--don't ask any other questions.

The reason Ron Paul is only registering 2% is because those poll's are among "likely GOP primary voters." Which means, those that voted in the 2004 Republican primaries, when Bush had no opposition. The 4% of Republicans that were so die-hard for Bush that they went out and voted even though he was a war-time incumbent with no opposition. Of course those people want Giuliani! I don't know why Dr. Paul doesn't explain this to the media and give his supporters some more hope.
