  • A mid heavy pickup like a SD Invader or a Dimarzio Super 3 would be great with this I think.

  • What song is this ?

  • pedal sounds rad!!! but i have a peavy express 112 , would anyone give me some advice ??

  • @jrich23own I just bought this one, and its good for metal like Lamb of God Slipknot type stuff if you want Metalcore/Deathcore get the Metalcore Pedal it is amazing and simple

  • @AdamR702 whats the model name?

  • @jrich23own blackstar ht distx, amt e-drive, amt e1.

  • awsome pedal!!! buying it.

  • this pedal is a fuzz pedal I kept it for a week and the pedal would not stop cutting off tone it was like I was using the Neck Pickup all the time

  • this pedal is shit!

  • Excelent review! Congrats! just what I was looking for. Thanks

  • this pedal can make a cheap amplifier sound like the best amplifier in the world...

  • what amp is being used for this video?

  • Should I get this or the Metal Muff? I want Lamb of God-ish sounds.

  • @83eetfuk get the muff for more mids like LOG. this pedal is to sharp, but its good for dime sound.

  • @maximus0fficial Thanks that's what I was thinking.

  • i like how first u played painkiller !!!

  • I have this MXR Fullbore Metal Pedal. Thanks for the tip's.

  • SLAYER!!

  • If he turned up the mids more and the highs just a hair more it'd more clear but still brutally nasty.

  • great great playing, compliments! i love MXR pedals, but this fullbore metal really doesn't sound good to my ears...it's brutally too harsh...

  • @synthelabo it should sound brutally harsh this fucking moron has the mids cut like crazy.

  • Fuck yeah metallica!

  • Painkiller. Classic

  • i love it FULLBORE METTTTTTTTAL

  • This blue diode's burning very cool!

  • @metalpride15 not all of there pedals are digital (they have 5 analog od's/dist's) but yeah. there pedals are shit (besides the legendary whammy) xD

  • I don't give a fuck if it sounds like a can of angry bees,I have not heard a pedal heavier than this

  • @metalpride15 i agree with you're "don't buy digitech pedals". the only digitech pedal i ever see myself buying would be a good old whammy

  • @metalpride15 Well both of those amps are great so it depends what you like more. Dual recto has more bass than the Peavey however the Peavey is a lot tighter sounding. Also the Mesa has a better ckean channel. I myself am looking to buying the Hughes and Kettner switchblade which also kicks some major ass

  • @metalpride15 Nah I just don't like the sound of the Metalzone that's all. Music is all about your taste so someone might say this pedal rocks someone might say there is something they like better. By the way I don't use this pedal too much anymore as I bought a very good tube amp and prefer it's high gain channel to any pedal so that is that

  • Should o get this or a hardwire sc-2

  • what would be good amp settings to have behind the pedals settings? I keep getting a nasley sound or an extremely bassy sound, right now my amp settings are, LOW at 4, MID at 1, HIGH at 7, then my pedals settings are currently: volume at 5, MID freq at full, GAIN at full, and the eq settings match my amp, i was wondering if anybody could give me some suggestions ofr a Metallica "Kill em all" type tone, i would greatly appriciate it, Thank you

  • fucking great pedal

  • new to pedals um. would this change the sound a roland cude and sound just like that? btw holy shit u play the exact same song as i do seek n destroy , painkiller, south of heaven cool dude

  • Would this be good for polka and salsa?

  • @journeyquest1 if you play salsa from hell I think this pedal would do the job

  • awesome taste in music dude!

  • I had one of these and didn't like it much. Biyang is cheaper and better.

  • @MrIplayguitar Get a noise gate. The feedback that is also the "12 year old bitch on her first period" will go away when the gate is engaged. The most common noise gates are the BOSS NS-2 Noise Supressor.

  • THANKS! Finally a good demo of this pedal.

  • D.A.D

  • would this work well with a ibanez tube king ??

  • WAR ENSEMBLE !

  • i got one of these things its a realy good buy it made my shitty 50 dollar ebay amp sound like a metal machine :)

  • I WAN't IT!

  • Would this pedal make a good partner if i run it into my Orange Crush 20 watt ?

  • That scoop setting is fucking wicked!

  • My speakers on fire

  • Comment removed

  • just do not quite understand the function of the gate switch ... when muffles the strings the pedal automatically cut the sound, is it?!

  • @ZakkBarros1990 it cuts out this annoying fuzz and feedback out from the guitar. basically if ur not touching the strings it wont make a noise, its sorta like a cigarette filter. cuts out the bad stuff. because high freaquency pickups make sure that u touch a string so ever lightly and it feels like its hit. the noise gate cuts it off

  • Wow it's actually really versatile, a lot more than i thougt!

  • Pantera / AvengedSevenfold / BLS

    does it do the job???

  • @tigreslokos :sure will man.

  • I like the scoop (not the pooper scoop), sounds better than the Metal Zone Boss I used to have. That top middle button is really nice, totally alter the sound, like completely different pedals. I like sound at 2:12-2:44. The Jake E. Lee at the end sounds awesome too. I think I am convinced on getting this pedal. Seems to be the best metal pedal. I need something for my AC30, cause, I play other stuff rather than just AC30 type sounds...I like heavy also.

  • the metal zone can be modded to sound really nice. I don't like the fullbore, too tinny and thin. Metal muff is tight, but I'd use that to play The Sword over regular metal.

  • this good for megadeth, iron maiden?

  • @mmim4 Megadeth seems fine to play with this, but not maiden

  • @mmim4 Definitely Megadeth. I'm not sure about Iron Maiden though, it has too much treble in it. But a Metal Muff is a good pedal for Iron Maiden stuff, it even has a Top Boost for solos.

  • How do you adjust the noise gate to be efficient? I know how to get to the noise gate by removing the back of the pedal but what I mean is that the noise gate seems to cut the sound to early...Can you tell me what setting you have on it? Thanks!

  • How decent is this pedal if you're looking to do a lot of string squeals? I ams lookings to gets thats Skwisgaar Skwigelf tones.

  • i hate this pedal it has too much mids and lows and highs, and the frequency dial doesnt make a difference the pedal still sounds like crap. i did what my frend told me to do and get a digitech death metal pedal and i like that one more then the fullbore pedal

  • @marrag1 You can't even control the gain on the death metal and it has way too much... what do you see in that thing?

  • @rockrenegade

is a pedal for DEATH METAL PLAYERS AND NU METAL PLAYERS WHO LOVE EXTRA GAIN!

  • @metalmaster1992 I didn't like the Digitech. It was way too thin sounding and the fact you can't turn down the gain to tighten things up really doesn't fly with me.

  • 1:16 sounds like raining blood

  • @zaktan415 isn't it the intro of south of heaven?

  • ML 2 is better?

  • Best sound @ 1:59. I just ordered one of these and I can't wait to mess around with it. Nice demo....good music

  • nice t-shirt

  • thank FUCK that there is a metal guitarist who can do a proper review/demonstration on this! thanks dude :D

  • I am new to pedals. So can anyone help me set up a good sound with this pedal for system of a down songs like aerials and chop suey!? I keep my amp settings all at 12 o clock so its clean. I dont know shit about pedals lol.

  • This is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to scooped! How the hell are you suposed to hear yourself in a band?

  • what song is at 0:57 ???

  • @N1r3eB1bby Harvester Of Sorrow from Metallica i think

  • @tommyaffinity

    not even close

  • is he playing cut you up with a linoleum knife in the begining?

  • too much highs

  • @andrewkadar

put your high knob down as low as you can and draw it up slowly i never get mine past 8 or 9 o clock

  • FIZZ

    but that's just my opinion...

  • i used to own this and i got rid of after say halfway it has to much gain to be used like way to much!

  • whats the song at 3:30?

  • Comment removed

  • I HAVE THAT BLS SHIRT!

  • def the pedal to get if your gonna need a shitload of gain but it just sounds like something is missing. It sounds mabe compressed or something i just cant hear any body in the dynamic range olf this pedal

  • The Fullbore is such a flexible pedal and if you run a tube amp and an EQ you can go wrong!!!

Sounds sick with my 7 and 8 string Agile!!!!

  • man i was trying the boss metalcore in guitarguitar and one of the guys working there comes up with the fullbore and says "you have to play this pedal".

  • Player has a good taste in music

  • was that Painkiller at the beginning?

  • @mnmetalhead13 i think so

  • I just have one question, I currently use LTD, should I save up and get an ESP, or switch to Dean or Jackson? or get a Charvel like the one in this video, so far, I like the guitar tone in this video.

  • @d22587 i use a jackson and they are so sweet man. But it really depends on your budget and preferences.

  • dude you want a bad ass metal sound get Marshall or a Randall amp and get and overdrive drive pedal you get a more tube like sound and all the gain in the world

  • what guitar is that?

    is it a custom?

  • @thumbvideos123 Probably a Charvel

  • @thumbvideos123 Aaah, it says so at the description :)

  • hey this is a random question, but i noticed the one volume on your guitar, does anyone know the difference between bypassing the tone knob and turning the tone knob all the way down?

  • man all u guys talking about mesa go fuck yourselves randall and marshall amps r much better

  • love randals but i say meh to marshalls

  • THANKS MAN

  • i want this so bad, selling shit on kjiji for the cash

  • So should I combine the fullbore metal with my amps distortion or just leave the amp on the clean channel and use it?

  • @GJRM18 well normally this is better with no distortion, the way you are thinking it´s more of an overdrive pedal

  • I get my Fullbore pedal Monday afternoon from Musiciansfriend. I tried this pedal out at guitar center. This pedal made a shity amp set up they had sound like a Messa Tripple Rectfier, which is dream amp I want. I got an Ibanez TBH-100, a solid state amp and I got a digiteach Metal Master pedal running in front. I am praying this pedal will help me out big time.

  • @MrIc400classic

Yeah like Mesa boogies have so much bite and treble attack

    Keep dreaming.

  • I have owned the Tri-Axis/SimilClass 290 rig.I have owned a Dual Rec.I have owned Marshall JCM2000. Right now I am running a Carvin V3($850) through a Marshall 4x12(the same one I ran the other heads through)& it sounds better than ALL of them.If I were buying all over I would buy a Soldano Decatone($3K) or ENGL-S.E. 6L6/EL34($4K) or Invader100($3K)/150($4K)...BUT the BEST is Fractual Audio Axe-FX Ultra($1500) w/ a Carvin TS100 power amp($550) w/4x12($800).It has EVERYTHING & I've tried them all

  • if you're going to get a mesa, get the Mark IV. Triple Rectos just don't compare to it.

  • I've gotta get this pedal

  • omfg, seek and destroy sounds fuckin amazing, youve convinced me, the mxr m116 will be mine

  • metal zone , metal muff or full bore ????????

  • Metal zone sucks I tried it and it isn't good. Our other guitarist in my band uses the metal muff and its really good but I myself use the fullbore and I think it owns both those pedals as it has a noise gate which is really a great feature and also it's true bypass which means you won't lose an signal. I myself would recommend the fullbore

  • @AntaresX9

The metal zone can be okay if you tweak it A LOTTT. The problem is that if any of the knobs gets bumped your tone can go out of the window. I use the metal zone and it's pretty applyable in different settings. I even once achieved an overdrive-like sound by cranking down the distortion all the way.

  • But still you have to modify it for it to sound quite okay while the fullbore is ready to go right after you get it out of the box. That's why a lot of pro guitarists use MXR pedals

  • That's true I guess.

I just need to save up some money.

All I know is the Behringer vintage distortion pedal is probably one of the worst ever. but for 30 bucks it was kinda good. haha.

  • @AntaresX9 The Boss Metal Core is a much better pedal.

  • I totally agree man. Fullbore owns both of those pedals you said before. It has more hair and bottom.. .What to say, but I think Boss ML-2 Metal Core sounds good too

  • @AntaresX9 In my experience, the fullbore couldn't really do anything outside of palm mutes. Anything with chords fell apart, for leads it sounded terribly and kept this weird awkward notch sound. I much prefer the Emma PY-1, as funny as the name is... it did the super tight articulate palm mute but did everything else the fullbore falls short of.

  • @hendrix184, r u serious about the metal muff breaking within a week? I just got mine on thursday. I guess i'll know on monday if it works or not.. Wow, im really starting to dig this pedal, i think i might go get it today.

  • wat is the opening riff? it sounds like disturbed

  • painkiller - judas priest

  • disturbed ??? dont be such a poser its painkiller (halford kicks the fucking ass on this one hahaha) then seek and destroy !!!! fuck yeah

  • ok dude u dont hav 2 call me a fuckin poser i was havin a dumbass moment like 3 min later i realizeed it was painkiller damn

  • WAHHHHH!! What a monster pedal!! wil that thing give me this sound with my little ibanez ibz5 25watts amp??

  • all depends on your pickups if your a headbanger get an active set like emg 81 85 or 81 60 or even the seymour duncan blackouts amp dosent matter all you need is a clean channel to run it through the wattage will just be less loud unless its shit it will muffle the distortion but 25 is good

  • hehe no i'm not a head banger!! :p i just play for fan and i'm a big fan of metal! yeah i have an esp ltd kh602 with 2x emg81 so i think i'll have a good sound even with my actual amp! cheers!

  • don't get active pickups. get some high output passives. if you get actives you'll definitely regret it. your guitar will sound sterile and you'll chew threw batteries

  • i already have them :) like i said in the comment below i have 2x emg81 and emg are well known, no way you can say that their bad pickups! :)

  • I have to disagree, I have EMGs in my les paul, I rarely have to change the battery & they get an awesome natural organic, classic rock & metal tone. There are a lot of great passive pickups out there but I wouldnt trade my EMGs for anything else. Active pickups sounding sterile is a myth too many people buy into.

  • They do sound sterile and compressed, although the EMG X series sound much better.

  • You wanna believe that go ahead, but I know better, my EMGs sound anything but sterile & compressed.

  • I've only changed batteries on mine twice, and one was because I thought the guitar wasn't working but it was actually some problem with the soundboard.

    I've had it since may.

  • seriously!? that's alot better than i thought. i played my friend's ibanez and we had to change the batteries even though he changed them a week before

  • @Erock09291

Yeah man. Although, mine's a schecter.

Another thing is if you leave it plugged in, even if the amp's not on the battery will drain.

The thing about active pickups is they generally give you a lot of diversity. On one of my amps I can get a bluesy overdrive on the neck pup and switch to the bridge and get an almost metal sound.

  • i've played active, i like the tones for lead work, but i just love the warmth and presence of passives imo

  • he is using a Dr Z Maz 18 it writen in the description

  • are u plugged into a marshall class5? or is that a blues breaker behind you?

  • War Ensemble at 3:30.

  • does this pedal have good bass? i need it it to have strong bass and someone please respond

  • yeah buddy, this pedal has alot of bass, i never was really into distortion pedals kuz of the lack of bass and clarity, but this pedal by far won me over, its a great pedal buddy, i wouldnt lie to u, ive been playin for almost a decade haah so i think i can throe my two sense in there, hope that helps buddy!

  • oh yeah gots plenty of bass

  • Fuck ya Seek and Destroy 1:30!!!!

  • DAMN this thing is powerful.

  • uber metal line 6 or this one????

  • this one is much heavier, and much cheaper, but the uber metal has more of a virtuose sound

  • Pain-motherfucking-killer!!! Fuck yeah!!!

  • k so as nice as that gate switch is and all and the super amount of punch this thing packs i still cant decide between the metal muff and the fulllbore. i play music mostly like the sword stoner rock and a lot of doom metal. which would work better

  • don't get the metal muff, i bought it and i went through like 5 cause they kept breaking, iv'e got a solid state marshall half stack and when i play loud with that pedal it sounds like pure shit

    i'm ordering this pedal today

  • @bobjackson7 yeah dude what the fuck is up with metal muffs? i like them alright but they break in like a week

  • the beginning sounds a little like Painkiller by Judas Priest.

  • are u sure there's enough bottom end !?

  • Boss metalcore sux. and i know beacause i got it.

  • Nahh man. Prob yer amp.

  • well...its a boss...don't even have the basic true bypass...The only boss pedal is worth getting is DS-1 & CE-3. But DS-1 are still not use-able until Keeley mod...

  • ops.. sorry.. is bark at the moon

  • part of it sounds like Pain killer By Judas priest

  • no it is ozzy song

  • gentlemen .. the holy grail is upon us ...

  • @J0EMOMMA726 There is a reverb pedal called the Holy Grail just so you know. I got confused for a second there.
