Can You please tell me what's the differеnce between lucina white and lucina black sparkle?? it's only color or has some other differences?? Thanks a loot see ya
What are the differences between the lucina and the synth besides the looks and size. Like are there new sounds and a drum machine or is there extra functions that the synth doesn't have?
This might be a dumb question, but are there keytars (by Roland hopefully) with more than 3 Octaves? The black definitely looks less chessy then the white cover - it looks too retro-plastic for my band lol. I saw this model and am just wondering whether it is the one for me. My other question was "can this replace a bass guitar if need be" which you already answered. Looks awesome!
i've been playing the piano since i was 6.. but i've never played it this way.. is it a lot harder?? i'm thinking about buying one.. i wanna be a unique keyboard player.. hahaha
Wow!! been going to Jam nights and ONLY guitarists getting up, so I'm gonna get me one of these then start jamming as I'm too old to learn guitar and didn't want to carry around my 88 key roland piano. great product this genre is going to take off big time I think.
I'm a GUITARIST who hasn't played Piano in years, and I want one.
Does it come with its own synth like the AX-Synth (which I guess is the AX-08?) or is it just a controller like the AX-07? did the AX-01 through AX-07 have their own names like the Synth and Lucina?
@Kraryx Me too. I'd love to have one of the big ones...but these smaller Lucina ones would DEFINATELY get the job done. And theyre a lot less awkward to carry around.
@hyphz There’s no real technique to it. I’ve never been worried about the Lucina disconnecting from the strap and falling. As for the strap peg on the back of the Lucina, it’s a comfort thing. Personally, it’s more comfortable for me to use the strap peg on the back than the one on the end by the mod bar controllers.
If anyone is worried about the strap disconnecting they could always purchase and use a pair of good old strap locks, the inexpensive plastic strap locks work perfectly.
@dylo101 All the songs that I play through the whole video (other than the Bridal March on the Pipe Organ) are my own improvisations and compositions.
Is there any big difference between the black and the white versions, apart from the color? Because from what I've seen there's a 100$ difference on price between the white one and the black one.
Also, how well does this synthesizer work with pedal effects (like distortion, wah, all that)?
@VocalDomain The only difference between the white and black sparkle Lucina is the colour. The price is different due to special sparkle paint job and the glossy nature of the finish. Pricing will also differ depending on the price set by your local Roland dealer. Regarding effects pedals with the Lucina - the sky is your limit! Let your imagination go wild. Use any type of pedal that you want - there are no rules!
@NuclearDanceScene Absolutely. The Lucina can be used as a USB MIDI controller for software on your Mac or Windows based computer. Moreover, the Lucina can be used to control any external MIDI instruments or modules with its standard MIDI Output. Don’t forget though . . . the Lucina has its own built in sounds based on the acclaimed Roland Fantom-G engine. You may just find yourself sticking to the Lucina sounds – they sound fantastic!
Can you confirm that there is a built in metronome. I read the manual and it refers to a count in/metronome. I'm hoping you can verify that as you practice scales for example that you can practice to a metronome. It's just not 100% clear to me after reading the manual.
@AcousticBuckeye Yes, the Lucina has a standard metronome that can be set to many different time signatures. To clarify, the “Count In” feature plays one measure of the metronome sound, at the set time signature and tempo, to count you into a song that you are performing or learning.
@NizamiShikhmammadov You can download the Lucina Owner’s Manual from the Roland website. The Audio Player features are explained on pages 16 and 17. By referencing these pages, you can see that while holding the [AUDIO PLAYER] button you can press the [INC]/[DEC] buttons to select the desired song. The Lucina displays the first three characters of the file name, which enables you to select the correct song.
@iKeyboard15 I recorded the audio from the Lucina and my microphone to a Roland VS-100, which has the ability to record audio directly to an SD or SDHC card without the need for a computer. I replaced the audio from the camera with the audio recorded from the VS-100. No processing was done to the audio. What you hear is all from the Lucina.
Very nice video mate, just one question: can the lucina be used as a keyboard controller to record in a studio by connecting to the computer or soundcard via USB?
@greendudegp Absolutely. Lucina has a USB connector, allowing it be a MIDI controller for your computer. Moreover, Lucina has a MIDI Output, allowing it to be used as a MIDI controller for any external MIDI devices or instruments.
Hi!, please tell me something: can i choose between mp3 wav and midi files in the same usb stick?, i mean, can i play the audio files in any order?, can i load many audio files in a single usb stick? (between mp3 wav and midi) and does roland lucina read them?, how many audio files can i have in the same usb stick?, thanks.
@SilentSynth Yes, the Lucina can be used as a MIDI Controller to control external MIDI devices or instruments. There is a standard MIDI Output as well as a USB MIDI Output.
@iKeyboard15 Having 37 keys doesn’t really make much difference in performing solos, especially since you have the “Octave Up/Down” buttons so easily accessible. The 37-key keyboard allows Lucina to be very compact and light, without sacrificing the instruments playability. If you find yourself aching for more control, flexibility, and keys, check out the AX-Synth!
Best Lucina video this far... all the rolands own video are either bad quality or just so big fail (all those children dancing all around). This shows the true quality of sound of this thing and also shows the Black Sparkle in the true light... and WOW it is looking so COOL! :P
Here is a music video of a band that recently featured the ROLAND Lucina AX-09 in their music video. The singer does a great solo and ending with it.
