  • LOL at the BG music :)) very energetic :))

  • do you know of any stretches to help keep the back straight when squatting low?

  • hamstring stretches, inner hamstring stretches and hip flexibilty work

  • Thanks alot man.

  • no prob, ill try and find some demo stuff

  • search youtube for "squatRX1"

  • Great to see some explicitly instructional videos. Thank you--they're a real asset.

PS: Could you please clarify what you mean by 'standing up hard?' I'm also a bit confused on how the forward thrust of the hips translates into upward momentum. Am I missing something crucial?

  • Basically all a clean or snatch is is starting crouched over, then straightening your body out so you're standing completely upright. Holding a heavy barbell will slow you down, of course, so you have to fight that and try to stand up as quickly, or "hard" as possible. The faster you can move once the bar passes your knees, the more upward momentum you'll generate on the bar, which will give you enough time to get under it. The movement is NOT a jump, since you're pushing through your heels.

  • Good I learnt a bit!

  • thanks

    excellent as always
