Many people did use shields. This video shows fights from the Asian server though, where there were probably more unique setups (at least according to these videos). I seldom saw RH rapier, LH talisman mages, let alone any kind of mage, on the NA server until late in its life. Hopefully, offensive sorceries will somehow become viable in DkS too.

Why don't people use shields in Demon's souls? I haven't played Demon's souls because I have a Xbox. Backstabs look to be the only bigger downside of Demon's souls.

@EliteAssass1n People did use shields.  I've seen estoc + shield and even DBS + shield in tournaments.

Controls aren't as silky smooth and refined as they are in Dark Souls, but after a while it's hard to notice the difference. As you can see, though, everything is lightning fast compared to DaS ^_^

@LimeXLight the bow was a shitload better but then again demon's souls didn't have come at me bro or praise the sun. And they are a lot easier to do in Dark Souls.
