  • glad to see you took him to the vet.. dunno if you ever had a cyst but it feels a lot better when it's drained which is why he just let you do it

  • If they can't reach the area to lick it and keep it clean...and they are an inside/outside cat...be very careful, flies land on the wound and lay eggs. Mine got a worm after I had cleaned an absyss, had to pull it out, drain and keep neosporin packed in it..that worked.

  • @charlieboyzname cats also purr when they're in pain.

  • Done this a hundred times. Okay maybe ten. usually on the side of the head though in the area of the scent gland. I usually just go until a small bit of blood comes out and they usually heal up. vet is good but the cat is pretty durable and can often heal on its own.....

  • My cat had the same issue, it could have been caused by a cat fight.

  • I know he felt so much better after it drained! I've had a few of those myself, and the warm wet washcloth does wonders in drawing the infection to the surface and softening the skin when the abscess is ready to rupture spontaneously. Good job! Poor Fat Cat.

  • Poor cat :'(

  • It's amazing what cats will put up with when is someone they know and it's doing them good....even if it does hurt like heck.. I had an old cat that used to purr when I drained his abcesses!

  • That was an okay vid. Was hoping to see some 'real' nasty shit!

  • He must love and trust you by the way he doesn't move!

  • What a good cat!!! You did the right thing. :-)

  • Crappy Video in the very sense.

  • he was being such a good kitty for you poor baby

  • poor kitty

  • Oh poor Fat Cat, I hope he is doing better now...I know what you mean about the smell....it is just awful. My cat's often scrap with one another, in a playful way but at times they have punctured one another with claws or teeth...and this is what has happened to them...At first I didn't really know what the smell was, but after finding the leaking abscess I soon figured it out, I personally think it is the most rank odor I have ever experienced...

  • Here's the story: Fat Cat had been acting funny for a couple days. While I was petting him I noticed a bulge on his back and that it smelled awful. I found a small wound that had healed over already. I called the vet and they told me to shave the area and place a warm washcloth on his back to relieve pressure until they could see him and then to flush it out with water/peroxide solution once it opened. I cannot begin to explain how bad it smelled once it opened. Got him to the vet the next morn.

  • @algarbonzo They told you to per peroxide in the cats abscess?

Thats not good, it can damage tissue. I suppose with water it might be less harmful, but I've always heard to not use it for that.

Im glad your kitty is ok though, peroxide or not. :)

  • I did shave him a bit. It is difficult to see in the video. It was difficult to shave him because I didn't want to hurt him. Just wanted to relieve the pressure til I could get him to the vet. I took him to the vet the next day for anti-biotic. They told me I did a good job of draining and flushing the abscess.

  • @algarbonzo How is your cat doing now???

  • poor baby. Good pet owner to help him/her to relieve the pressure. Did you take it to the vet afterward?

  • Poor meow meow! I have had to clean many abcesses on my animals. It doesn't take much for little scratches to het infected

  • ow kitty had a fight..Their claws and teeth are covered inl the worst bacteria in all creation! that stuff if not treated with antibiotics will eventually lead to death. Definately needs a vet for this one, absolutely without a shadow of a doubt. My cat once had a fight with an alley cat and the whole puss thing lasted several days even while on a course of antibiotics.

  • poor kitty !

  • thats attractive?

  • my cat had one of those once... it was painful for my cat

  • What did i do with my life that i decided to watch these videos?

  • OmG!!!!!! You should've taken him/her to the vet to do that! have you ever had a pimple and busted it and hurt? IMAGE THAT 50X WORSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I really really home you were able to get everything out and possibly pack the inside with some sterile gauze or something bc something that big could easily refill and become larger. Also, koodos to your cat! My cat would NEVER let me do something like that. We'd need 2 ppl just to hold him down. Hope Fat Cat's doing well!

  • @WhitGam7 I wasn't able to get him into the vet immediately. I was able to get in the next day. I didn't do any cutting, it opened with a warm wash cloth. I'm really surprised he sat still for me, he is usually a wiggle worm. Vet said the next day I did a good job draining and flushing. He is doing much better now :) back to his old goofy self.

  • ok is the cats name actually fat cat or r u making fun of it....... just wonder

  • @chrissybryant his name really is fat cat. :) my little girl named him that when he was just a tiny kitten and he grew into his name :)

  • They get those from a bite or claw... fighting in other words. It's ok to drain them (it relieves the pain actually) but if the problem persists you go to the vet for some antibiotics. My guy would not sit still like that though lol....

  • You should've let the vet do this. You're causing unnecessary pain here.

  • cats has 2 ass hole

  • This is one poorly cat. How is he now? You did take him to the vet didn't you? xXx

  • I found a huge lump on the side of my cat once. xD Rung my mum in a panic thinking it could have been cancer/tomour. It popped and sweet jesus it reaked, her fur was coming off in clumps as well. Drained it off (with much displeaser from kitten) and she tottled off, a week later all her hair had grown back and everything was fine. ;D

  • aww pour baby! was he okay?

  • No probaste con un veterinario??? capaz que se te ocurra

  • you should of shaved him/her 1st

  • VET please!

  • He must have gotten attacked by something! Hope he's better now!

  • good grief! What are those other holes and junk? His rear looks awful! What's wrong with him?

  • Oh yuck! I guess that's what I have to do, and it's Saturday night so I can't get her to the vet until Monday!
