  • I loved it. Congrats!

  • Beautiful!..simply beautiful. The storyline and directing is beautiful

  • Very very impressed , made me felt sorry for him and forgot that it is actually a movie, exactly what a good movie does! I'm looking to buy a D90 and I started learning editing and that was inspirational ! Well done loved

  • hi man

  • very well put together

  • ever seen the short film spider?

  • @TheHashBot Is that by Kendy Ty?

  • @TheHashBot yeah he ripped off the scene from spider..lame

  • Was this all shot with the D90?

  • What did you edit this in

  • do you use some lamp ? because the lightning composition are good

  • Great film!

  • the car scene bears a striking resemblance to an Australian short film called Spider...

  • BRILLIANT!!!

  • cool camera work, and great little movie.

  • 2 years later, the exact same haircuts, facial hair, and bad acting

  • It is strange to seen one of these short films with genuinely good actors, I was seriously impressed. Are they payed or your friends are you one of them? How did you film in restaurant were they ok with it?

  • what the converter used in this video?

  • wow ...

  • during the dialog scene, do you use mic? or you use the D90 inter mic?

  • Hi, great film.

Camera operating was really good, I felt like your composition choice is accurate and meaningful.

When seeing it, I thought the white balance was amazing, I could really find a connection between shots during the entire film..

I super duper liked the main character, he was amazingly reliable.

There were some cuts at the restaurant I didn't understand, but I guess in overall, it doesn't matter.

    Really great work, keep going!

  • wow ! thats all i can say about this film! it was awesome and I have a d90 too but I havent been able to use it that much lately due to school and work. I love the film industry and thats what i want to get in to. But there was such a great story and when i got done watching this i felt as if you guys were famous already ! pretty frickin amazing forreal. keep doing ur thing i just subscribed to you man. ill see you at the top - we will both be there !

  • Smart film, I enjoyed it.

  • Awesome Video!

  • thank you..........this anwered my question about owning a 50mm lens for my dslr...very cinematic.

  • hey you are kidding me, it's exceptional quality with not so expensive lens. my word, i am stunned.. love it, you all got potential, good acting , filming, awesome, i am your fan now.. thanks for sharing. God Bless You

  • what lighting did you use ??

  • For such limited resources, this is incredible! Well done! There was almost absolutely no "cheap" feeling to it. I felt like I was watching a multi million dollar film during the opening and closing scenes.

  • Please, please, please tell me what kind of glasses David Stone is wearing, they are really nice!

  • good job....

i will upload movie from D7000 + 50mm so soon.

  • This proves not only that the Nikon D90 is a great tool, but also that to create art imagination is needed, not equipment. A beautiful story, skillfully acted. Great work, I'm amazed that you managed to create a movie this great in just 72 hours.

That it is possible to be able to share things like this film with people all around the world is one of the great things about the internet.

    Greetings from Germany.

  • Bravo!

    I will be purchasing the d90 real soon.....seems to do the job, esp given the lens and extras to make this short;

    torchidman productions

  • As good as any Hollywood flick. Good theme. Good film.

  • Phoenix! That's sick. I just shot a video at that same stop.

  • @MrWeecks csb

  • That's it i'm getting a 50 millimeter lens, the 18-55mm sucks and it's unusable when zoomed because of the aperture.

  • thumbs up if you rewinded it like 5 times when she got hit.

  • that shot at 2:19 ... just got me

  • caught me by suprise...

  • This is well done...my wife wants to get this camera because she is a photographer...i want the Canon D60 for video...Shes going to win of course..LOL..but after seeing this I will use what I got ya know...Im no real DP anyways....great short, shots, acting, writing for an indie short...

  • wow. this is incredible. youve got a big career ahead of you.

  • the girls a horrible actress. But the rest pretty good. I like the work and the idea.

  • Great Video!

  • Really great video. It is good inspiration to know that it is talent, not equipment, that makes art. Great job.

  • Really, really amazing for being shot on a camera that costs less than 1000$!!

  • That was really not what I was expecting! I really liked this film, sometimes it can be hard to tell a good story in a short amount of time and I can appreciate it, because being a film student, you understand that concept better... and I know Scarlett personally from ASU, and what I noticed when she wrote her number down, that's really how she holds her pen! haha.. I've always thought she was beautiful and a great actress. This film is awesome, man. :)

  • Hello mate, lovely jobly. How many D90's did u use 4 this movie?

  • how many d90 did you guys use??

  • Great film.....but would have been a little bit better with more in and out/depth of field focusing.

    Keep up the good work!

  • the audio could be better. but with built in mic, it's good enouogh.

  • the audio could be better. but thats good enough for built in mic.

  • This short film is AMAZING...

  • Great video. Its a pity the internal mic let you down. Great work, really impressed that you did that with the D90.

  • the script is amazing in this short, keep up the amazing works.

Great things can be done even with just a d90 and a 50

check out my d90 vids too

  • amazing video use dslr.. what`s batter nikon d90 or canon d550d?

i like create movie n take picture.. hope u can help.

  • To think I bought the D90 just to take photos. I am impressed by your movie making skills but am amazed at the D90s capabilities. Thanks for sharing the video.

  • Too much noise..u should use that noise filter, I don't remember the name. What was your ISO settings?

  • @innovativepisces - but it has an amazin story line ...gr8 lesson to be learn ,,,

  • @innovativepisces - but it has an amazin story line ...gr8 lesson to be learn ,,,

  • This was amazing, I honestly felt I was actually watching a full length film.

  • Very, very nice!

  • Great story beside some technicalities like white balance the composition its pretty interesting.

    Keep the challenge going.

  • excellent plot, just loved it now what is this d90?

  • ha 8:52 is a masterpiece!!! can't stop laughing... who knew this was a comedy! :P

  • How Many Camera?

    nice Short Film :D

    kudos

  • I was liking it until you blatantly ripped off the short film Spider...

    ... why?

are you really taking credit for this film? The feeling of twist and terror at the end was stolen

I know you're going to delete this anyways... but shame on you bro

why would anyone get out of the car over water anyways? Seriously, makes no sense

  • @ryandbest86alternate thank you for pointing this out, i now remember spider too...total beat off

  • By the way... great film, I thought the storyline was great, the shots were pretty great and creative given the camera you had at hand. I guessed you could worked a bit more on the accident scene, didn't looked greatly produced.

    Overall was a great film

  • typical:/ Good film, but too typical:( +Like tho:D

  • the restaurant interiors really suprised me. Also the exterior shots (2 years later). You've reached a REALLY authentic filmlook. Colors, depth, grain, image-speed, light. all neutral, no too hard contrasts, soft changes from bright to dark.

I really thought i saw a movie shot on film! RESPECT on that awesome work!! :)

    I am deeply impressed!

  • Really, the built in mic?

My built in mic for some reason sounds like complete crap.

  • Very Nice, Thanks for sharing.

  • yeah, great melodrama with super happy end !

  • reminds me of the short film Spider.

  • Impressive, even if it had been produced by proper equipment. People diss the D90 video capability for lack of autofocus, framerate and no mic connector, but if you know what you're doing you can get great results without the frills. Congratulations. (The framerate of the D90 HD video actually helps making it look good)

  • that was sad. really good dude

  • Where to start? That was AMAZING. Great filming, great idea, great acting, great everything. I didn't know the D90 could produce such an awesome video. The film itself was great. I'm almost in tears.

  • For only being shot in 8 hours, this film has some great quality. Well done.

  • I love the writing in this haha, and the cinematography is soooo goooood, so inspiring to me, I'm a new film director, and wow so inspiring!

  • this short film impressed me...

  • *sniffle*

  • awesome short. This is true independent fimmaking. I got a d90 myself and will be shootin a short film on it soon, and i have to say if you use it right, you can get pretty nice results. It's like you said, that you have to use whatever you have. keep up the great work. :)

  • you proven nikon is Fan-tastic again

    big thanks

  • Nice work. I was initially quite dubious about the whole film being made with an f1.4, but it actually worked very well. The only shot which I wasn't a big fan of was the one taken over the guy's right ear at the dinner table...it was just a little too distracting. Other than that, great. Keep them coming.

  • awesome!

  • Great work here... You should definitely invest in a decent shot and lav mic/s. It would really help boost the quality of your work. Aside from a few focus issues (I also use the D90 and know how hard that can be) this is really stellar work. Excellent job.

  • Very nice work! Did you use some kind of stabilizer or tripod? How about extra lights? Shots look really steady. Great story, acting, and direction.

  • hey, really like this film, great cinematography and story well executed. can I ask what supports you used? any kid of steadicam for the tube train?

  • did you used the built in mic or you got a mic mount to it?

  • built in mic...

  • @JoshuaTrevorLaney - Great work here... You should definitely invest in a decent shot and lav mic/s. It would really help boost the quality of your work. Aside from a few focus issues (I also use the D90 and know how hard that can be) this is really stellar work. Excellent job.

  • @JoshuaTrevorLaney the built in mic really sucks, i'm considering buying and external recording device... have you tried doing that?

  • @JoshuaTrevorLaney ITs really good for a built in mic, as in for pick up mostly.

  • @JoshuaTrevorLaney you only used the build in mic for this movie? no externals? Did you edit the sound after shooting?

  • @JoshuaTrevorLaney Did you use color correction? if used, which software did you use? Awesome work man.

  • watch mine.. called it can only be love... its made with d90.. tell me wat u think peeps?

  • I like the way he "loses his head" in the window reflection towards the end.

  • It's the jacket.

  • bravo!

  • Wow what a great film!!!! Really beautiful and so inspiring! I really want to get a D90 :)

  • Keep on keepin on brother. Well done.

  • good movie. we often forget what movies are about, telling stories and creating emotions. yes, your movie has some technical flaws but who cares if there is a story to tell and emotions to feel? nice job, really.

  • That was great, and I thougt the D90 was an arse of a video camera.

  • I'm not a fan of the camera, but you gotta use what you have, and unfortunately it's the camera that I do own...

I shouldn't be really knocking it, it is a decent camera, especially with the right lenses you can achieve a very nice style and look for next to nothing.

there is grain added to also give it more of an older film look, the 24p is what really helps this cam

  • what a modest bastard! you owned this camera! yes the audio was rough but for a dslr this was the SHIT. it's no "stache" or "roomates" but still awesome! :0) assburgers

  • @William82oct It's a 50mm lens he's talking about.

  • @JoshuaTrevorLaney VR lenses really do help the shot and camera shake. If you shoot with a 16-35 VR on the D90/ D-Movie camera you can get some great results. haha I might be renting it and a Zoom H4n for better audio next short film I shoot.

  • @JoshuaTrevorLaney is it this lens: Nikkor AF-D 50mm f/1.8

  • This is a fabulous movie to be done within 72 hours. Everyone in the film truly has potential in the entertainment industry. :)

  • A truly awesome comment.... thank you for appreciating what a person can do with no time and no equipment, it's not easy

    thanks again, you rock, cheers

  • awsum video!! yay!!!

  • "true luck" ? ha true luck that you won

  • its one thing to take and be inspired by something! Its another to straight up jack a scene from another film! but I am no coward but this will be pointless to continue talking. Enjoy your wonderful awards you supposedly won . I'm sure you earned them

  • I wanted to say I enjoyed your film, but i realized you replicated a full sequence and series of shots from this film called "Spider" wow! you won all those awards from someone else's talent! BRAVO . Enjoy making HOLLYWOOD remakes champ! By the way the sound was horrible and the only time your d90 looked nice was with your opening shot.

  • lol .... you forgot to mention I took shots and inspiration from "Good Will Hunting" "Annie Hall" among others, what a silly goose you are...

...congrats making a profile just to bag on my video, lol, you could be less of a coward and post on your normal account or maybe we could talk about this in person, hell, I'll even send you my address

...nah i'm sure you're a coward in real life too, well, obviously.

p.s thanks for the comment, did you screw your first one up? : )
