@cloudfire3 Thank you reminding me of this verse. When Paul mentions these "strange and mysterious" languages, I think he is referring to the fact that they are foreign and not of the people's. In verses 5-9 he goes on to ask how can speaking in tongues helpful if there is no one to translate? The fact that this language is translatable makes it clear that these mysterious languages are not nonsensical but just foreign to the people. I truly appreciate your opinion nonetheless. :DGod Bless You!

@chelseap89 no what your referring to is the gift of tongues in witch God manifest his spirit as to give you the ability to speak in different languages...while speaking in tongues is slightly different it is a complete manifestation of the spirit it CAN come out as another language or the spirit can utter something through that utterance of tongues to God about you or someone else...

@chelseap89 sometimes it might be speaking in different languages but also the language of angels which is not of this world. However, speaking in the tongues is not edifying if no one understands or interprets. I used to be very skeptical about speaking in tongues until i started to speak in tongues (I am pretty sure i don't speak a known language when i do speak in tongues)
