Great demo - don't listen to any of the naysayers! I just ordered a SX bass for my son based in large part on excellent demo vids of the SX such as yours! Thanks and nice playing!
@natedog642 - Thanks, it's actually something I just made up to try to fully show the sound of the SX bass. I'm sure it's from bits and pieces of other things, but nothing specific.
your really good, I've been playing for 2 years and I've only experimented with tapping so far. I bought a nice SX jazz which sounded great till something happened to the neck, now it doesn't play as well and buzzes.
Man I bought an SX Bass from Rondo Music based on all the video's and it was a piece of crap! But for $119 really its a deal...I replaced the pickups, bridge, strings, and had to shim up the base of the neck, Now its worth about $600.00. But there Douglas and Brice 5-string basses are off the hook!! I got one too......
Thanks to the folks who "thumbs-down"-ed the super-negative comments. I rather thought this video was a good example of the quality that can be had from Rondo, if also illuminating of my horrid playing.
just got one of these. I'm already returning it. If you play with any aggression at all, the tone turns to crap. Plus it's one of the most uncomfortable basses to play ever.
That's cause you don't know what ur doing, learn to set up you own instrument dummy. I beat the crap out of mine never have problems.
Sx basses r on par w/ mim fenders(no joke), and you save a lot of $ by not having the factory set it up for you. If how the thing is set up when u get it (or the name on the headstock)is a selling point for you, then go and spend 3 times the money for a fender.
thank you so much you just sealed the deal for me. i was considering buying an sx, but i never looked into an actual video of someone playing one. and this is with no adjustments of the action or even the truss rod?
correct?
and your one sick bass player just saying. thanks again.
u know, i wanted to buy a squier VM p bass, but in my country, no one seems to import it, do you think an sx like yours can fulfill the tone that squier basses have? im interested specially in the tone because i play in a punk pop band, so that's why...
@mortaldraw I had a squire that my uncle gave me (since he got an MIA Fender) and I sold it and got two SX basses and after he heard how they sound he went online and bought one xD
There will be a thread on it this weekend on TB. Project Python, dual P similar to the Prism bass with an added reversed P pup near the bridge, and all high-quality hardware.
i have a streamer stage II,a G&L jb2 fretless,an Ibanez sr 1005 prestige and a Fender p Usa but i think that i will buy an SX bass for sure!

Wow, all I can say... you should go on the road and promote the SX line, if I didn't have an SX , I would purchase one after watching your video !

No adjustments at all... I hated the sound of the strings, and the action was high, even for me, but what you see is what I got.
Thanks!

what sort of amp are you using because i have an sx and it souds crap compared to that so it must be your amp that makes it soud good
mattman4bullet 2 years ago

I'd say that the Sx basses could definitely compete with the squiers from what I've heard.
