Hi I purchased this bass 3 weeks ago and it had a lot of humming , buzz and ground issues... i returned it to Fender and they returned to guitar center...I waited for 3 weeks, the bass finally returned and guess what...the problem still persist....be carefull buying this bass,i might want my money back....by the way...the cable, the amp and everything else is ok.....I tested them with a cheap Ibanez and with this bass everything is ok,fender american deluxe V has beatiful tone but at QA sux!!!
@Bass5or6 LOLOL NICE REPLY !!! DONT GIVE DUMB NUT HUGGERS THE TIME ....
I BET YOU antweezyx DOES NOT EVEN OWN A BASS...HE JUST WATCHES PEOPLE LIKE YOU PLAY AND WISHES !!! CHEERS MAN KEEP PLAYING ,I HAVE THE SAME BASS BUT BLACK WITH MAPLE NECK.
I THREW ON A PAIR OF FLATWOUND D'ADDARIOS FLAT WONDS AR THE WAY TO GO BRO
You certainly don't suck. I'm actually saving some money to buy this bass! Are you still satisfied with it? It seems like most of the sound on the video comes from the bass' acoustics, so you're not really able to hear what it sounds like! Thanks for the post though!
YES I LOVE MY FENDER JAZZ!!! its been a great weapon to my playing....this vid really doesnt show how great it sounds...but I'm in the process of making some live gig vid...so people can see....
@SimonStett dude...very sorry for you...I have a brand new for you right now....with a lot of gorund\buzz issues....be prepared to receive a faulty but expensive bass
YES SIR! I think you should get one...the only thing is you will have to adjust it for your perf......on this vid...i took it straight out and played it.....but now the strings are lower with no rattling
hey when you play youre bass in active mode, is it really noiseless? I have hearing a lot of buzzing and I'm wondering if I have a faulty pickup. Thanks
@Bass5or6 Not yet. I'm just asking because I've been doing research on that model of bass; and while all are enjoying their instrument, some are complaining about the hum. You see, I am four months into the waiting process for my bass(a natural) and since that thing cost so much and is suppose to be noise free, I'm just hoping that will not be an issue for me. Whenever I get my bass, should I come across the humming issue when I solve it I'll let you know what I did. Thanks
on passive mode mine is completely silent while in active mode you might hear a little "shhhh" only when you don't play.
For the rest many people say that Fender do not deliver the same quality of the old basses....it might be but this days to get better than this you need to spend much much more.
At the end I think my bass sounds really nice and it feels great; moreover to have the similar specs you need a Marcus Miller or a Custom shop.....
Congrats...but your right...in passive mode it sounds GREAT!!! It's just that in active...it to noisy!!! I wish I could have gotten a old Fender Jazz bass....thats the sound that i grew up loving...not this one....I'm really thinking about selling it.....
To tell you the truth I recorded last Sunday and I did it in passive mode.......the active mode is something you use live and in certain conditions: the active sounds modern I can compare it with some Esp! an other thing to mention I have a maple neck and fretboard on an Ash body, I tested also the Alder body and I can tell there is difference.
Still I'll stay with this bass cause I could not have the same features without calling the custom shop ( that is out of discussion ).
I may or may not keep it....and the Ash body and maple fretboard really does make a difference.....ill keep trying to get that sound....thanks for all the input...stay in touch....post a vid...with the new bass
Great playing and bass. Love the sound, but the only problem I have with the '11 deluxe is the pups are noisy. They suppose to be noiseless, but all the one's I'ver tried were to noisy. I can stand some noise, but this sound more like a wiring problem, not pup problem. But, I know you got a winner.
Delaware to save on tax, the 4 string "wine transparent" one. I see them on ebay sometimes but not in that color, just "natural" and "sunburst". Good playing man
@byjuu246 Not yet, ordered it late august, was originally told november, now told this month.......so maybe by next august? I do know what the problem was however, paint supplier went out of business, Fender is putting out some funky colored guitars that aren't quite right. Supposedly they're at least getting the american line correct before they're sent out. I put 1/2 down also, I'm told it will be worth the wait. Not looking forward to any hum problem though, that would really suck.
Bro I dropped Fenders, I had two of them one Mexican and one American could not get a low action to save my life. They have that good vintage sound though. That one sounds like alder.

@jspain61 Yeah man the action is Soooooo high..but the trick I found out is Peavey strings
I lower the actions and the strings don't rattle...I think it's because their Thermal-fused. No dead spots or loose winds.
