  • yngiwe on blues steriods fuckinf phyco shred

  • Is this a song ? Does anybody know its name ?

  • great playing no doubt abt it..he's different from ynwie but he's modelled himself on him for sure..

  • wow

  • A Great Guitarist! - I am a huge Malmsteen fan, but I believe that Katsu brings some new elements to the table that are quite tasty!

  • If he is supposed to be the new Yngwie... well it is a pretty cheap imitation at best. The problem is, Malmsteen is not only an incredible technician he is an amazing musician/composer! how may guitarist can write music like Black Star, Far Beyond the sun, Leviathan etc.? It is one thing to be able to play fast & clean but quite another to actually create something out of nothing. Yngwie is a pioneer! no one played guitar like him when he 1st arrived;now countless cheap imitations have followed.

  • :OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • He not only sounds nothing like Yngwie he is NOT a fat slob either.

He actually sounds more like a mix of PG & VM with a pinch of RB.

    PG = Paul Gilbert

    VM = Vinnie Moore

    RB = Richie Blackmore

He's pretty good and I would love to hear him play something a trite more disciplned. :)

  • @dirtydonki

    I thought George Lynch? too

  • これプログレバンドの即興演奏やったら、メチャかっこいいやろな!

  • This doesn`t sounds in any part Yngwie.

What reminds me and only reminds, no reason for comparisons, are Black Mages, with the great master mind Nobuo Uemastsu.

    This is much harder

  • Atsushi Yokozeki "used" better phrases to involve the backing track, but this is also veeery nice!

  • his right hand looks just like yngwies right hand! no kidding!!! omg!!!

  • 1:26-1:29 melts my face every time!

  • Fucking amazing blues shred! The tone is the Yngwie tone, but with a different style...Sorta Yngwie like, but no classical influences, even at the slow part, it was all pretty bluesy.

  • That was Awesome, Intense and very dam tasty! Excellent Katsu!!

  • malmsteeen with yellow skin? baaah

  • way to bluesy to be Yngwie like??? Yngwie get's just as bluesy as this! and Katsu's throwin' in all the trademark Yngwie licks...

  • people and even most Yngwie fans don't know shit about Yngwie's playing and tone; his physical gestures that manifest through his guitar playing...the mind and heart that's expressed by his note choice or how he bends and the vibrato...how to go from bridge pickup to neck pickup to give that smooth glassy tone on arpeggios...the staccato effect of his picking; the volume swells...and the "off the cuff" improv feel...

    --SAK47RAMANIAC(real Yngwie fan)

    p.s. Katsu's fuckin badass...

  • The backing track is from Battle Gear 3 the edge, a video game. It's a guitar battle between Katsu Ohta(Malmsteen style) and Atsushi Yokozeki(G.Lynch&P.Gilbert style) Check the other version also!!

  • 1:27 is that a Syu lick? i remember it but cant place it :P

  • malmsteen clone nice skill but there is the original one.....

  • Someone please tell me where this video is from. Pretty please?

  • @WigglyMalmsteam

    probably "young guitar"

  • Amazing player, does not sound like anyone because it is so unique!

  • Even if he's a Yngwie fan he sounds nothing like him here. Nicely played and very tasty.

  • Katsu Ohta is the best. Nuff said.

  • the only thing that he copies from malmsteen is the vibrato and every body does that...at least everyone who does metal

  • he got his own style. superb!!

  • This guy fucking kills! Way to bluesy to be considered Yngwie-like. Awesome. Thanks for sharing.

  • @strikeofthesword It does sound very Yngwie like...I like how people say it doesn't like it would be bad if it does sound like Yngwie...they're in denial...I've been listening to Yngwie for the last 20 years and I close my eye's and can tell right away this kid is an Yngwie fan...huge Yngwie influence and proud of it!!! It's his vibrato and bends, how he goes to the neck pickup and his economy picking...Yngwie's more than just harmonic minor...his touch, tone and feel...this kid has that same.

  • his style is not like yngwie's.. yngwie's style is more on classical.. it's souds like rock to me.. this guy has unique style. and every good guitarist has..

  • SADAKO!

  • Forget comparing him. It's Katsu.....love him.... cause he rips!!!

  • He just kills!!! I agree that he doesn't sound a thing like Malmsteen on this. Great player.

  • i hear alot of Blackmore, Malmsteen, abit of Hendrix here and there, very interesting. (:

  • wher do you hear Yngwie's favorite diminished & phrygian modes in this? wtf. I hope you're joking about hearing Yngwie a lot in this song

  • i beg u to listen again.

  • I did, and I still don hear any diminished or phrygian modes:(

  • wtf dude , if you cant see that this guy is a die hard yngwie fan well than drop fuckin dead. His playing style , clothes , guitar says enough.

  • okay not yngwie but alot of Kee marcello from europe---am i right or am i right ;)

  • Man this is the first one of these Asian shredders ive seen that actually sounds good!

  • his bendings are magic O.O

  • one more thing, isn't it nice to see you DONT need VAI/GILBERT spider fingers to shred equally as well?? Nice katsu, carry on brother!

  • This guyz so good its scary

  • I have been enjoying Katsu for awhile now, you can hear the malmsteen obviously BUT I REALLY hear Gilbert alot, which is a great blend. NICE Marshall tone as well, cant beat it. Although I run a Bradshaw Modded Plexi and an Ampeg lee jackson together and its TERRORIZING!

  • smooth playing

  • he makes it seem like nothing

  • He has an awesome picking hand!!

  • As well as all the other stuff obviously!

  • HE plays it effortlessly..

  • what pickups is Katsu using on THIS axe, anyone know??

I know es playing through a 100 watt plexi super lead ya??

    Great playing and tone.

  • I heard he uses DiMarzio Virtual vintage solo, discontinuated model though

  • The Japanese Master
