  • Fuck USC

  • Devante jones sucks dick

  • Why doesn't anyone post the half-time 30' buzzer beater against UConn in the regional finals? I'd love to see that again,

  • I always love watching that video

  • Haha Suck it Mizzou! Still 0 Final Fours and you guys played absolutely no defense in this play. No wonder you hold so much anger to KU because of games like this.

  • Great defense Missouri no wonder you guys NEVER win anything

  • UCLA

  • Yeah, us Americans are so forgetful. What, only watching leagues that are relevant, how ignorant? There's a reason players go to Europe... lack of talent. Unless its soccer, the best players are in the US, or trying to get there.

  • @MikeRichRice The reason why NBA has more talent is simply money. Straight up. If international teams were able to match NBA salaries.....you'd see a lot more talent over there. Hell....if they were able to pay more than NBA, I guarantee you'd see top tier players, ie, Lebron, Kobe, Durant, etc. over there. NBA itself is nothing without its players. If good players went over there, then we would be the talentless league.

  • A great finish. I was there, 5th row center court.

  • that was the best

  • that's not a man--it's a basketball-tipped net-seeking missile!

  • Dayum! Still great.

  • hmm...stop ball around half court? just a thought...

  • Ugh. I was 12 years old and I still remember where I was when this happened, and how depressing it was. And Mizzou STILL hasn't been to a Final Four (though this was the second round.) Oh well...2012 is their year!

  • Did I see a guy named Dollar? :D

  • @RxRtxas yep, Cameron Dollar....THE GREAT ONE!!!

  • this was Priceless

  • I'm from the Show Me State and this....was....BULLSHIT!!!!!!!

  • BEautiful!!!!!!

    RCJHKU!

  • I have always loved the way the announcer describes the story of this game in 20 seconds; why it's important, how they got there, what UCLA has to lose. It's really, really well done, like he knew that 10-15 years later people would need the context.

  • and now he's coming back to UCLA! Let's hope he brings some of that old bruin magic back to westwood

  • 5' 10" and he simply claimed the spots on the floor as his own.

  • Saw it live, and watched replays many times...every time, CHILLS, baby, Chills!

  • OK - does anyone know where I can find a highlight video (made by CBS) from the 1995 NCAA tournament. It included this buzzer beatter, as well as the Purdue/Memphis game, Villanova/Old Dominion, Georgetown/Weber St, and (I think) Syracuse/Arkansas where someone called a TO but they had none. Anyone else know what I'm talking about?? It was a great highlight video of all the buzzer beaters, and I wish they still did one like that each year.

  • There was also a video montage to Lion King's "I just can't wait to be King" and Pearl Jam's "Can't Find a Better Man"....ringing any bells...? I had found them like 2 years ago but they seem to be gone now :(

  • @jcgamer107 Are you talking about one shining moment?

  • @mcann333 No, it was before the final game was played.

  • omg what kind of defense was that

  • They don't wanna lose this one, Edney going the distance - EEHHHHHHH.......yes! This tournament made UCLA one of my favorite teams....they've kind of faded though :-/

  • I'll never forget that..... was resigned to losing to Mizzou and their Grouchy looking coach (crack a smile dude).... then .. TYUS EDNEY end to end.

went batshit mental in celebration. Go Bruins!

  • no my 2 year old cousin helped me

  • but a few days ago chris wright from georgetown fouled when the game was tied and it cost them the big east tournament

  • that didn't cost them the game. he went down and tied it up on the next trip.

  • it didn't cost them the game you dumbass

  • @qukarlz stop following up on peoples other comments you mark ass trick

  • that was a good one did you think of that all by yourself?

  • O'liney (For Missouri) Had A Monster Game That Nearly Cost The Bruins. I Remember Feeling The Tension In The Air, And The Entire City Being On Edge. After This Game, Everybody Knew UCLA Was Going To Win The Title. It Was Just Meant To Be

  • Edney picked up his pivot before putting the ball on the floor off the inbounds pass. The trail official should have stopped the clock for a traveling violation and returned the ball to MU at the time line.

  • Six dribbles, behind the back....amazing.

I remember it like it was 15 years ago.

  • i remember this like it was yesterday.. too bad we lost in the first round the next year..95 was still amazing

  • amagine how stuned the guy is that got the shot

  • I remember watching this live. Missouri hit 13 3 point shots from all over the floor including banking shit in from near half court. It was ridiculous how all those shots went in. Edney's run to the basket is one of the greatest moments in sports history. Without it - no championship.

A lot of NBAer's on that team - both O'Bannons, Bailey, Edney, JR Henderson, Zidek,

  • im a mizzou fan and i can't believe no one fouled him before he shot

  • @vanfar15

You don't foul when your team is up a point.

  • yeah but still no one got in his way

  • @vanfar15, in an interview with Sports Illustrated later on, then-UCLA coach Jim Harrick said the reason he called for Edney to do this is because he KNEW no one would foul him.

  • wow.

  • that gave me goosebumps! what a great memory

  • Yep...I remember watching it happen and my jaw dropped open. In the round of 32!! And then to go on and win it all. One of the most important shots in all college basketball. And I hesitate to even qualify that statement with "college."

  • When I feel sad and even a bit depressed, I make myself a glass of warm milk and cookies and continuously watch this till the sadness leaves my body like a monstrous, giant crap.

  • well he became mvp in Euroleague while playing for Zalgiris in '99. they were the best in europe then!

  • ha ha dats funny lol

  • What do you meam. he was really good at NBA (for two seasons, I guess, Specially in Kings) and he was simply amazing, spectacular in Europe. he's bettern than most NBA players than fans ar barking about. It's just tham many Americans forgot about him- but that's not strange, it's Americans right you know.

  • He won a freaking national championship and made an ass load of money playing professional ball, whether in America or Europe...what have you done?

  • actually he made "only" 1.3 million in his short (basically unsuccessful - he only played 4 seasons) nba career. It sounds like a good chunk of cash but after taxes: 800 k maybe. After, he played in Greece, Italy etc. I doubt he got big $ playing overseas although I'm sure he did alright. So i think "ass load of money" is FAR from correct. Kevin Garnett has made 251 million in his career, that's and ass load of money.

He works at UCLA now, basketball op. director

  • Edny going the distance....!!

  • the defense is getting crappy in march madness

what happened to game winners being jump shots

people have one two games this year in tournament from driving to basket

the pitt nova one and the gonzaga one

  • GO BRUIINS!!!! ALL THE WAY

  • 14 years later and that's still a knife in my heart.

  • he traveled

  • Uhh, I'm not sure if you're Missouri fan, hate UCLA or are just kidding, but how on Earth do you see two steps there let alone more than two steps? From the time he stops driblling till the time he shoots I count one step.

  • I wish, the finals of polish league will look the same and turów will be a new champion :D... Go Tyus ! And sorry for my english :D

  • wow I never knew he was still playing ball.. I'm happy for the little man!!

  • Now he's playing in Turów Zgorzelec. It's a team in best polish ligue. last year they were 2nd, but i hope after finals in this year Turów will be a new champion ;]

  • wow I can't believe he's still playing at age 36.

  • He's still playing and doing well ;]

  • Wow Mizzou played no D... that doesnt win titles... OH-IO!!!

  • its hard to tell from the original angle that he switched to the other hand and banked it in... that was sick though.

  • U-C-L-A Fight! Fight! Fight!

  • he did all that in four secs?

    daaaamnn..

  • he behind the back move just over half court was what gave him the lane

  • that move was sick! not flashy or to show someone up, just no change of pace, perfectly in stride and that subtle change of direction to get where he wanted to go - to the right where he would be able to get a shot off.

  • Turów na mistrza z T.E.

    GO TURÓW

  • Turow Zgorzelec...!!

  • I saw Tyus Edney yesterday he have still good form :)

  • what the hell happened to him?? he was an nba bust..where he at now?

  • Now he play in Poland Turow Zgorzelec

  • I believe he's playing in Europe still.

  • I remember watching that game live. That year had so many stars come out of it.

  • my last name is edney i wonder if im related

  • What could have been. Another team could have won the 95 championship.

  • this guy is just amazing

  • Tyus at his best. Love that guy...

  • And yes I agree with this announcer sucking ass..get Gus Johnson to do this game, he is crazy into it..

  • Ed O'Bannon=NBA bust..

  • hahaha. so true, so true. guess it runs in the family with brother charles

  • My favorite NCAA buzzer beater of all-time. :)

(Christian Laettner and freakin' Duke can eat my shorts! lol)

  • What a bad call for such a big play

  • tyus is my name i swear to god

  • e edney ste cose le farà ancora gg...ma a capo d'orlando...forza pierrel

  • nu pigghiammu nuautri

  • when he played in my country, he was like a god. We won everything that year, national championship, north baltic championship and of course euroleague. Edney got mvp tho.

  • mizzou sucks

  • The guy who called the play-by-play was Tim Ryan who worked at CBS Sports from 1977-1998. Great broadcaster. Don't worry. Gus would be there for CBS the following year.

  • I remember watching this live and not believing what I was seeing. One of the most thrilling shots in NCAA history.

  • I was in high school and dreaming about attending UCLA--and it really was magical watching this game and eventually seeing the bruins winning the NCAA championship... and I eventually attended and graduated from UCLA.

  • The best part....Misery lost!

  • Makes me smile everytime...I remember partying in the streets of Westwood after the championship. Can't wait to do it again this Monday! Go Bruins!

  • as a ku fan, i rank this right up there with the 1980 usa hockey team win against the russians. this is one of the spots for the Coke zero TV blitz -- love it!

  • I remember watching this live. I was sick to my stomach.

  • tyus edney rocks. Go bruins! We are in the third straight final four.

  • Hmmm...we barely won in the 2nd round as a 1 seed in 1995, then our lightining quick point guard scored the winning bucket at the end. 2008? As a 1 seed, our lightining quick PG scored the winning bucket in a round 2 game we nearly lost.

Banner number 12 next Monday night???

  • You mean our. There's been more than three final fours.

  • shut up you idiot ...we all know what he meant

  • What a classic sports highlight, thanks for posting.

  • sigsports . net

  • This is such a horrible call for such a great play. This call can only be rivaled by Joe Fuck's lame call in the Super Bowl.

  • the worst play by play ever for such an incredible play.

  • I could not agree more. It is almost like the mic's weren't even on.

  • To Mizzou Fans, this is our Bucky Dent and we get to see it every year during the NCAA Tourney.

  • tyus edney forever.

  • marques johnson was doing the color on radio and his yea baby! yea baby! yea baby yea baby ........ was classic!

  • What a bad call for such a big play

  • This kills MUron fans, and I love it.

I love how Coke has this as a commercial. Ownage.

    ROck Chalk!

  • dude his behind the back dribble was what made that play

  • he owned life there great man gret game. all i have to say

  • drive*

  • wow. 4.8 seconds must be exaclty the human limit for a person to frive acroos a court in a game. WOW! if i ever see at least 4.8 seconds left, im always gonna hold hope!

  • tyus IS the man and still a ucla legend to this day.

that guy could show up at the campus in westwood, snap his fingers & get any trim he wants.

  • That play simply gives me wood

  • One of the worst play-by-play calls in the history of sports. The idiot doesn't even recognize that Edney has driven the length of the court until he actually shoots the shot.

    Unbelievable.

  • Completely agree. The P-by-P guy is talking about how UCLA got knocked out of the 1st round while Edney is sprinting down the court.

He's basically doing color commentary when he should dictating what's happening in front of us.

  • Agreed. The good news is that the play is so exciting, it supersedes the pathetic play call.

  • Tyus had me at 4.7 seconds.

  • As a JAYHAWK this is why I love TYUS!

  • This play made it evident that we were destined for glory that year. I watched this, and I knew. Go Bruins!

  • My friends just had a baby boy. His name? Tyus.

  • Edney going the distance.........YES!!!!

  • Missouri had to feel like utter shit!

  • Not only do we, but every year when they show this I am depressed for at least 1 hour...haha.

  • this is cool

  • It was a great shot and a great game, but I laugh when I think that ne'er-do-right Jim Harrick was UCLA's coach at the time. Guess Quin Snyder and Kelvin Sampson figured if it can work for UCLA...

  • this honestly brings tears of joy to me, well over 10 years later. Tyus, Eob, Zidek, JR, Toby. GOAT.

  • me, too

  • maybe the worst moment of my life

  • man being a point guard myself it is the hardest thing with the ball in your hand to go full speed down the court and make a crossover like that.

  • i was very young but my dad told me he sat on the living room floor in disbelief

  • tyus is the best

  • There always seems to be a game like this for the team that wins the whole thing.... survive and advance.

Man, if Gus Johnson was doing the call he would of been going crazy.

  • That little dude is fast wow!!!!!!!

  • Classic!

  • So as a mizzou fan you can basically take all the experiences of the guy below this comment and reverse them and that is how I felt. I think I was depressed for a week after that 4.8 seconds.

  • Best sports moment ever and seriously the best day of my childhood.

To have experienced all the disappointment of the last few years' tournaments, and to see missouri take the lead right before this, being right on the edge of puking throughout the timeout break, then to experience the unmitigated jubilation right as the shot went down-absolutely priceless.

  • Best sports moment ever.

  • my name is tyus

  • very good player but the best point guard in Europe was David Rivers (Olympiakos)

  • Tyus Edney is a best player in Zalgiris !!!!

  • Tyus was my best friend in high school, we walked together in graduation...much love to the Edney fam...Long Beach Poly Jackrabbits aka da funcc house! home of scholars and champions!

  • indeed Tyus is a scholar and a champion in my book...ask him about "Buffy" from Hughes Jr. High...was was cool to see that video with just a google/wiki/few keystrokes

  • His best years was in Lithuania with Kaunas Zalgiris

  • Everything must have gone slow motion for Edny, except himself of course.

  • I swear that every classic game Mizzou is in, we're always on the losing end.

  • With all due respect, you need to meet some Kentucky fans. OT loss in FF to Michigan in 93. OT loss to Arizona in title game in 1997. Elite Eight loss to Duke is 1992.

  • Im also including football too. Nebraska's kick for a touchdown, and Colorado's 5th down). But it looks like I could get along with Kentucky fans well though

  • heads up dude. go to my youtube channel and you'll see some classic Mizzou games that we actually won, especially against the beakers. :)

  • Fantastic, incredible player. Thanks a lot for season 2005-2006,you will always be in Olympiacos fans hearts.

  • Big XII didn't exist in 1994. It was still the Big 8.

  • We were a 8 seed I believe and that was to get into the sweet sixteen.

Yes Missouri was a top seed in 1994 because we won the Big 12 regular season and tournament title. When the big 12 was the premier basketball conference

  • How do you figure? The Big 12 didn't produce any Final Four teams in 1994. The SEC on the other hand produced two in Florida and Arkansas that year. The following year, 1995, you guys had Oklahoma State in the Final Four, but the SEC still had two top 5 teams in Kentucky and Arkansas.

  • this play is what makes the tournament so "magical"...Bruins go on as the #1 seed to win...Go Bruins

  • Oh wow I found it. I was eleven years old at the time, and sitting right behind the backboard the guy made the shot on. Unforgettable!

  • I remember this like it was yesterday. I still have a tape of the championship game. Hopefully the Bruins can get another one.

  • Here's a weird fact:

When UCLA escaped Missouri on this play, they were a top-seed.

The previous year, Missouri was a top-seed themselves!

  • One of the greatest (and most memorable) plays in the history of the NCAA Tournament.

  • man i get goosebumps when i look at stuff like this

  • This was one of the best endings I've EVER seen in a basketball game. I still remember it like it was yesterday. Go BRUINS!

  • I'll never forget watching this at my aunt's house. We all went crazy. This is why I will always love Tyus Edney.

  • oops that was supposed to be a reply to some guy in this thread who said "fuck you mizzou" not sure why its at the top, sorry for the profanity but was just replying to that guy's profanity.
