I like that the AM V8 has a manual box whereas the XK only comes with an auto. I think that they should offer both. That spoiler on the boot lid looks like a complete after thought too.

Jaguar's got it right: Why make a new engine every five minutes (Or make one while I'm typing this) when you can take an engine you already got and work and work and work and work at it until you got absolute fucking perfection? Look at the A6 & AJ6 engine: Jaguar made it and worked at it for over 20 years and by the time they retired it in the 1997 year model, they had a straight six engine that was flat out perfect. Criticize Jag for getting something right all you want, but it works.

Thankfully the 5.0 GENIII V8 engine in both NA and Supercharged flavors (380 and 510hp respectively) came to replace the old 4.2 liter V8 for 2009MY so now it has more than enough power. And now you can also get the XKR-S with 550hp if you want more. So a good luxury sport coupe has gotten even better

Im a technician at my local Jaguar dealership (wakefield) and get to work on these day in, day out. And despite only being 20, I would have any new Jaguar tomorrow if I could afford to. They are just such nice cars both inside and out and the reliability has noticably improved over the past couple of years. And as for jeremy's complaint of needing more power, just wait until the 2012 MY XKR-S and XFR-S. 550bhp and with much better front end styling.

I drive the XKR and it is beyond sensible description. The last time I had so much fun on the road was riding my Honda Fireblade. Now I take the XKR to do the shopping and to travel the length of the country. The Aston is similar but not so useable. Also it suffers massive envy problems, whereas everyone lets the Jag into traffic! Amazing people love it!

ALL XK's max hp is 510 as of now, later they will probably increase the hp. There will be the XKR 75th addition with 530 hp, but only 175 will be made. You cant count that since its limited.

@Jonoichi Not quite. Ford sold Jag to Tata Motors in India. But, they're being smart about it. Instead of mixing the parts bins (i.e. the first XK's had a Mustang airbag), they're letting Jag do their own thing, and that's good.
